  1. Maybe they want the scammed people to be able to get their $$$ back using the standard eBay channels?
  2. Also I just want this thread to get to 100 pages before I have to start making dinner for the fam...
  3. My thought re that - I feel that eBay kicked him off for some reason (that's why the Zaglor ID doesn't lead to an inactive seller but to nothing) and they 'let' him back on with a new ID or maybe a few. So I think a lot of this is going to fall on them. I saw that @NewWorldOrder had one of the scammers previous IDs on his block list (corner142) so maybe they can remember why???
  4. Yup - and honestly with what I have seen I feel this specific scam doesn't go back as far or as deep as people are thinking. Is it bad? Absolutely. Is it thousands of books? I don't think so. Personally I feel its in the dozens. I know you have seen pretty much what I have so you might have another perspective but...
  5. Here are some more - again if the pic is small it's all i have. If there are duplicates they are from duplicate auctions and may help. One interesting thing I found - in 2016 he sold a CBCS Hulk 181 with "CGC it " in the title. I feel even an insufficiently_thoughtful_person wouldn't do that if they had swapped out a MVS missing book for a good one...
  6. I have a bunch of scans of the ALLEGED scammers previous sales from 2017-2020, does anyone want me to post them for scrutiny?
  7. That's the same background as was in a bunch of the photos I found of Comic Selects previous sales... Also - when you click on zaneglor it leads to ebay but no user. Usually when someone has stopped using an ebay account there will be a 'no longer registered' after the username. Did their previous seller name get taken off ebay? And if so - why did eBay let them back on???
  8. Yup. I have looked at about 500 of his previous sales (2014-2020) and it really looks like standard issue stuff. Lots of ASM keys etc. Maybe one or two MJ inserts. So that's good, right?
  9. Yes. I used multiple phrases and capitalization and came up with this. And the language used is very similar. I did not say it was 100%. That said the use of those specific phrases seemed to be limited to just seller.
  10. This was another phrase the same seller would use again and again - a little ironic now "Trust in CGC, it is a Standard amongst Collectors"
  11. The Seige variant was sold in 2020 with the following description - which is EXTREMELY CLOSE to Comic Selects description - right down to odd capitalization: "Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a CGC 9.8 Graded copy of One of the hottest Modern books around. You are bidding on a Rare and Beautiful Copy, an ICONIC and absolutely stunning Must have Copy. This book has been increasing in value steadily and is without question a perfect addition for a Siege, Deadpool, modern Age or Marvel collector. Key book in the Marvel Universe!! A must have for any Comic Book Collector and a rare opportunity to own a Modern Super Key issue, these are Highly sought after and have some of the most beautiful artwork. Books like this one only go up in Value over time. The Siege Arc & Deadpool Franchise are both must have titles and are well known for the amazing artwork. This book is one of the most beautiful and important Modern age Keys, its rarity and amazing cover by J Scott also makes it highly desirable and rare in high grade. Take a close look, Zoom in and decide for yourself. It is nearly impossible to find Raw Copies of these that are worth grading. The $$$ and Hard work has already been done for you. Furthermore, CGC has assigned perfect page quality. All Serious bids will be considered. If you Have any Questions Please Email me…."
  12. Does anyone know of an eBay account "corner142" ? My limited - but i feel pretty solid - research says they might be connected, perhaps an old account of Comic Selects. Quite likely in fact. Here is a screenshot of their watermark and a couple books sold in 2020. I think a board member "NewWorldOrder" said in 2018 they had therm on their block list. From looked at their auctiuons from a few years ago, if they are the same person as Comic Selects, it seems they had not yet figured out the MJ bait and switch by 2020...
  13. Sadly this is a mic drop. Though for some reason I kind of feel better about this possibly being an inside job? Not like we haven't seen something like that before... ;-)
  14. I find the "quality control is hard - give them a break" comments odd. This is what they do. They encapsulate and verify Billions of dollars worth of collectibles. Their quality control should be JUST UNDER what NASA's is. Especially if we find there is a lax QC system in place and someone realized this and decided to Game it. Repeatedly. Class Action lawsuits have been started for much less than this. At the very least, what is to stop me from requesting a FREE re-evaluation of all my slabs to make sure they are 'right'? This is a big, big problem. In certification - reputation is everything.
  15. Any more info? I am curious too - not a pedigree...
