  1. Apocalypse on the horizon? Me personally, or the planet in general? Both? Either? Neither? Lord Knight Protector of the Crimson Pantaloons? His Sanguinely Panted Lordship will be just fine. As will his minions scatted cross the globe. It's the planet that's got me worried
  2. Apocalypse on the horizon? Me personally, or the planet in general?
  3. I only went with 10 because the way things are going, we might not make it past 10
  4. Just a great book, in so many ways. I hope you love that book in ten years as much as I know you love it now, and that every time you look at it, it brings you good feelings about your time here on the boards. Yes, I am waxing a bit here but I think that's probably better than just being bitter that I couldn't afford to BIN it when it was offered
  5. WOW! Who was the seller? That's far and above the call of duty, and is worthy of commendation! Congrats on the other two, those look really really nice (thumbs u
  6. List more golden age instead of that drek. That's your name isn't it? Dang. Was wondering how long it was going to take for someone to notice. Got a little sidetracked with too much SA/BA buying the last couple of years(though it has been fun!). I'm trying to get back to my roots. I assumed you were from Georgia.
  7. Have you ever considered turning your camera on its side, so the lens aperture and the book proportions are roughly similar? Would eliminate the giant hunks of black on either side of the book
  8. here's how i remember it; Thors, TOS, TTAs, Avengers (in the teens), Aquaman, Marie Severin covers, Pedigreed Sgt. Fury's, Green Lanterns, Batman/Tecs, 48/52 pagers. i think i have left out a run or two. Steranko Captain Americas, I believe. But it's not really that much of an ADD. If he could just stop saying he's finally focusing, he'd be just another comic collector with wide and fast-changing tastes...
  9. has anyone tried to use the Calendar that this Forum has to accomplish the same thing as the intent behind this thread? Or looked in to the viability of same? I haven't, and honestly don't check the Calendar...but it seems as though there is a potential solution right under our noses that no one is utilising. I admit it might be impossible to use the Calendar in this fashion, thus the question...
  10. Yet another beautiful MGA Marc. Your Doom Patrol books are great man. Scott Thanks, Scott. I dig that they're appreciated, especially by a connoisseur such as yourself. (thumbs u
  11. Looking forward to seeing the rest of those books, Andy. I'd like to thank Bob Storms for helping me get this much closer to completing my run. Great books and great service. (thumbs u
  12. great run of books, Scott! glad to see the new addition isn't as impactful on your ability to get some sweet books in as you feared. (thumbs u
  13. great book! the "no dot after the 'No' in 'No 1'" uber-variant!
  14. what a coinkedink. i just got a package from Bob, as well. here are my two fave's
  15. Did the person who complained not want him put on probation? Is that why others had to step in? I am just questioning the use of "majority vote". Ghastly did not complete a transaction in good faith within a month. So he should be on the list. Right? Dan Ghastly's case is special, in that books were actually sent. The sticking points are that a) the packing job was amateurish at best and led to damage to books, and b) the one big-ticket item arrived in a condition severely worse than advertised, and c) that he refused to take a single iota of blame, going so far as to blame the shipping service, the buyer and even the buyer's neighbours. In Ghastly's mind, the delivery of books - one could interpret his "argument" as being all responsibility left Ghastly the moment the box was sealed, apparently - is all that's needed to show "good faith." Everyone else disagreed, thus the vote
  16. old man just "bought" books off of johnenock on the 16th of last month. i guess he's waiting for his next paycheck
  17. dude, you have a total man-crush on this book. nice submission. glad to see some of it was salvaged. you might be the single most "every cloud has a silver lining" guy i've ever had the pleasure to meet, and for that i salute you. metaphorically. you know what i mean
  18. yeah the 9.2 price was a guess, as i dropped out at around 240 for the 98. i didn't bid on the 100 for the same reason as you, and the price reflected that others thought the same way. a back cover scan would have been nice, but the seller obviously didn't need them. i wonder how many other HG copies of those 3 are out there, given Metarog's statement above
  19. Here we have a brave little comic. If only he'd listened to our warnings about playing with fire crackers. Be honest BZ, you tore that piece off just to show us that your collection isn't all high grade didn't you? no, he did it to show off the page quality!
  20. God, I hate you. beers are on you for that one, homie. I was just gonna ask you if you wanted to hit Happy Hour tomorrow. yes. but i can't. next week?
  21. i don't have anything to contribute, other than to say thanks for the work compiling the list (thumbs u
  22. Ta (thumbs u Erm...Got about 18 books still to come before Xmas unless I get tempted again... More Showcase to come and a few interesting Number ones. Just don't want to mention anything by name...don't want to jinx the Mail. I'm supersticious like that props! you must be chuffed to get all those at once
