This list is correct.
I was disappointed by the teaser trailer. On the one hand, it's giving off too much of a Predator 2 vibe.
On the other hand, I've never seen a Shane Black movie I didn't love -- and he probably knows Predator better than anyone.
I got the Predator 2 vibe as well. I guess one of the characters in the new movie is the son of Gary Busey's character in Predator 2, so there is some connection.

That comes as a bit of a shock. I guess you have to be well grounded in that Field. I would think the positives outweigh the negatives, though. It just depends on how a person is wired.

Big sale at heavy metal. You can get this bad boy for $2.69.
Thanks for the heads up. Sale is still going on now, just ordered a stack of 10 books, most were only $2.40 with a few at $2.69, screaming deal!

Lol, I just saw these at the LCS during FCBD, had them in my hand then realized I have no idea what to do with Tarot cards and put them back. Now if they made Vampirella oversized (tarot size) playing cards, I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

Either a .cbz or .pdf file.
With DRM-free .cbz you could also use a third-party comic viewer such as Chunky.
Awesome thank you.

I have. Not the newest books but trade paperback or hardcover collections in digital format, especially from companies that allow the creation of DRM- free backups, such as IDW, Image and Fantagraphics. Some Marvel and DC too.
I haven't read much digital other than trying a few digital codes in modern books, but I never realized some publishers allowed DRM-free backup. Once you "purchase" the e-book do you get to download a pdf (or other e-book format) copy for keeps? Assuming DRM-free means you don't have to use the specific comic reading service to view it?

Marvel Comics produced stand-alone adaptations of the first three Star Wars movies...and, in between those, published an ongoing Star Wars comic book series with the continuing adventures of those same characters in that same "universe", which ran for nearly 10 years.
It may not have been a great series, but it was successful precisely because the movies were successful and there was a market for ancillary product. Why not try to apply that same basic formula to the MCU?
Speaking of ancillary product...does anyone know if Marvel has released video games set in the MCU? That seems like another no-brainer...
Can't say i've seen any game that directly tied to the MCU. The new Spider-Man game (PS4) coming out in September is considered outside of the comics/movies.

Picked up a Predator Jungle Tales book this weekend, thought it was a one-shot story but it actually reprints stories from the Dark Horse comic series. So would it not be a reprint and be more like a compilation then?
BTW, thanks for posting all the cool books everybody, this place isn't dead.

I believe that the reprints are excellent signing opportunities. I picked up a True Believers AF15 signed by Stan. To me that was beyond worth it as I would never get my original copies signed. Especially with what is going on, I do not believe that anyone in their right mind should be sticking genuine AF15's in front of him.
That is a great looking book!

60's-era reprints like "Collectors Item Classics" and "Fantasy Masterpieces" make for great reader copies where you get to enjoy that old comic feel and smell. I was given a Fantastic Four omnibus and really disliked the way they reworked the art, and the nicer quality paper was actually a negative for me.
I think that paper smell/feel is the only thing missing from the True Believers books. Even though the art is the same, it feels much different on modern glossy paper.

Yup, very nice run of books, and complete sets sell decently. But I'd still think they'd have a LITTLE more heat considering the character, artist, and period of his career.
Maybe it's a recognition thing? Maybe everyone is for McFarlane era ASM/Spider-Man books, but his Marvel Tales covers are not on the radar. I'll be keeping an eye out for more on my next shopping trip.

The McFarlane Marvel Tales books are a sleeping giant. Can't believe they don't get more love than they do. Terrific Spidey covers featuring classic villains and guest stars done by McFarlane IN HIS PRIME. Sure, the books are reprints, but nowadays people just collect covers anyway, right?
I only found the one McFarlane cover with #226, but after looking it up it appears that he had a pretty long run of covers from #222 - #239.

Before True Believers, they were called Marvel's Greatest Hits. Some of those can sell for a few bucks too like Alias #1 and Cable Deadpool #1.
Awesome, thanks for the info. Were there any similar greatest hits type stuff on the DC side?

Store owner sounds like he over thought it. Just recommend Infinity Wars and Infinity Gauntlet and let the buyer figure out which way he should go from there.
I don't know any of the backstory, so before I watch the movie I will read these two, at least it is a good starting point.

29% off back issues $29 or less, and 75% off tpb's
Went to three LCS this year, best deals were at my go-to store: 25% off wall books, 50% off all back-issues, $3 boxes reduced to $1, and $1 boxes reduced to 3 for $1.

As a kid, older comics were not collected in trade paperbacks or hardcovers but reprinted in titles like Marvel's Greatest Comics or Marvel Tales. That's where I got my first exposure to Lee-Kirby-Ditko stories from the silver-age.
I'll still pick these reprints up at shows when I find them in good shape. They're part of my canon.
Good point about issues not being reprinted into TPB and Hardcover.

I've enjoyed collecting the $1 true believers lately there have been some good ones. X-Men 1, GSX 1, Hulk 181, New Mutants 98, ASM 300, etc, it is great to get a reading copy of those for so cheap, anything else I try to avoid, even some of the older marvel tales books or giant size issues.
I will have to look up a list of all the True Believers books that have been released, I haven't seen the one you mentioned above, more to look for!! I never really read Marvel books back in the day, so these cheap re-prints are great.

Spent some time going through my collections this week and noticed I have a lot of re-prints. Not just comics either, a lot of my video game collection consists of HD remaster and "platinum hits" re-releases. I've gotten hooked onto Marvel's True Believer #1 books recently, and really like them. Picking up TB copies of Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War this weekend sparked my interest in what other re-prints I have, and figured I would share a few.
Anybody else collect re-prints or 2nd/3rd/nth printing books?
Spider-Man vs. Venom (2nd print of a Re-print) This copy fits my budget much better than ASM 300.
Marvel Tales #226 (Re-Prints ASM #91, new cover art by McFarlane)
Evil Ernie Youth Gone Wild Encore Presentation (Re-Prints original series from Eternity Comics)

No economics in my engineering program either, but somehow you are supposed to be able to answer "engineering economics" questions on the licensing test.
