  2. Great information here been a long time in the making!
  3. Any of the seal jumbo presses work great. I have a 160m but the 110s and 210m work great to depends on how many you want to press at once.

Just got another batch of comics from Ed, great guy to deal with, books were well packed, shipped fast and condition better than expected! Thanks!
  5. I got interested in pressing as I wanted to replace my stolen collection and could never afford to replace them with the same high grade issues I once had. When I got out of collecting for awhile back in the early 2000s I had never heard of pressing. After getting back into collecting a couple of years ago I was intrigued by this pressing stuff. Having many books mid-high grade I knew that I could improve them a bit by pressing. The cost to get all of those books pressed would not be cost effective. I figured at the going rate of just pressing 20-30 books that it would pay for the press. While I have not been pressing that long like you there was not a lot of info to be found and in some circles it is frowned upon. After practicing for awhile on cheap books to get the techniques down I am quite happy with the results I am getting. Most of what I am pressing is silver/bronze age, though I have had luck with moderns as well. I will if I have a high dollar book I intend to submit for grading send out to recognized expert. Though I am about to submit some I have pressed for grading here shortly. I have found a good group of other pressers and we share tips and practices which shortens the learning curve. It does require a bit of patience and attention to detail but having the right tools and press make all the difference. It is important to note what can and can't be fixed by pressing as well as techniques as to not damage the book while pressing. If you want feel free to PM me and I will help steer you in the direction you want to go. Good luck Gene

  9. Greetings all! New to the boards started collecting Marvel in the early to mid 70s, I can remember buying some uncanny X-men, 5 for a buck at a Genovese drug store! Went into the service in 82 kept collecting and keeping up with my favorite titles until 1990 when I went home on leave for a death in the family and my whole collection had been stolen from our storage area. So many key issues gone! Hulk 181 probably the most expensive! Continued to collect what titles I had collected until the mid to late 90s then stopped as marvel was pretty crazy with the titles. Retired from the service 10 years ago and Just recently got back into collecting again in the last two years and have some nice X-Men runs 94-500, FF 20-645, Complete run of Conan comics and Savage Sword and some others. Currently working on a CA and IM run. Plan on having some keys graded in the near future. My two sons that are grown and in the service now finally appreciate comics and are fans of certain titles. Plan on being a regular here and sticking with Silver through copper age and anything else that catches my eye. I currently follow a few of the newer titles Cap and IM and waiting for the FF to start back up again hopefully in the near future! Plan on being a regular on the board! Thanks Gene
  10. I'd say worth slabbing, color break t/r corner, spine stress if it has not already been pressed and cleaned should have a solid 7.0-7.5 grade at least.
