  1. nice cover, better stories from cameron and h. anderson
  2. here's the web of mys 17 saved in a little bigger size. thanks to Jayman I've improved my posting so you can see the attachment. re: WOF 3. I have a large scan (1mb) that I use occasionally as wallpaper on my PC. Low or high grade, they don't all have the same intense colors so I would advise looking before purchasing.
  3. Thanks for the instructions and fixing my posts! I'd really like to be able to use my Yahoo briefcase as I can provide nicer scans. It looks like they generate a temporary link (every day?) which is why some folks couldview the pics yesterday but no one can view them today. Yahoo must want you to visit their site (and see their advertising) instead of just allowing you to store files and link to them from other sites. It's a bummer as they provide 600mb of essentially useless storage, but that's probably part of their business plan.
  4. it looks like yahoo briefcase is not a good place for storing pictures that i want to link to, so i'm very interested in suggestions. in the meantime, here are slightly smaller jpgs of the books in my prior posts.
  5. i'm not sure what the problem is. it could be there's limit on how many folks can view the images i've placed in my yahoo briefcase (i got DSL recently and this is my first use of that online storage). i know it was working as i received nice feedback for my GA post. can someone let me know if you can't see either of my posts? i'll try to make smaller scans and upload them to store them as part of the post. when i did that earlier, they didn't show up in the post. is there a way to do both? thanks!
  6. one of my favorite lou cameron covers. waited years to find one.
  7. girl trapped in web, menaced by a spider. i think we could do a thread just on that!
  8. cosmic aeroplane on this copy, so it's got the little check marks inside pointing out all the good girl poses. lou did the lead-off story about a were-tigress -- tiger skin bikini and all. she looks great, the tiger looks great, what more do you need? it also teaches a valuable lesson: if you are going to marry a were-tigress, don't run out of catnip!
  9. re: Metropolis. thanks for the tip. those copies are as nice as the ones i have. great books, really. unfortunately, they cost a wee bit more than when i got mine some years back.
  10. re: Keep em coming -- Would that I could. I will try to add a few more scans to some of the other threads. re: MLJs -- I don't have much and they are tough books. Start a thread a post a few for us! re: Jaded -- I just found the forum late last night. quite unfortunate as i stayed up even later! anyway, i was so jazzed looking at all the old posts it was like being back at San Diego Con's past looking at books and swapping stories. Comics are just damn fun! I never get tired of people talking about books they love -- even I ones that I will never collect. Although, now that I think about it, I got into all sorts of weird corners of the comic book world due to people sharing books they liked. Between that and Gerber, my comic book horizon enlarged tremendously.
  11. The Gerber data and Overstreet is mildly helpful, but if you rely on it too much you'll probably pay more than you should. I just looked at the 26th Overstreet and it mentions 4 Actions 1 in NM/MT. That was ridiculous back then. For grins sake you can compare the early CBMs where a group of experts listed scarcity of comics within a variety runs to the CGC Census. Who knew Spidery 4 would be so tough? and 6 so common? If the history of Coins and sports cards are any indication, we won't have good info on the golden age for quite a while. I believe it took 10 years on sports card before the census reports on the early cards could be relied on. And they had the advantage of a collectible that was more expensive and that could be enjoyed even when it was in a holder. In my view, the only way to be assured of the scarcity a book is a price increase and time. Suspense 3 became expensive enough for everyone to look for it and for old time collectors to sell their copy because they could get a price for it that was a magnitude greater than what they originally paid. It's pretty safe to talk about it being a rare book -- although there are more than 8 or 9 copies people thought existed.
  12. no Wolverton space patrol .... just BILL EVERETT cover and story! this and the other 3 are mile highs -- jbcomicbox occasionally left some nice comics for the rest of us ;-)
  13. this is the start of Wolverton space patrols, and my favorite story with the mushroom jungles and tentacled spider aliens. wolverton rocks!
  14. this has one of the coolest Wolverton space patrols. canyon landscapes, flying gas-bag aliens, koosh-ball evil invaders, the works!
