  1. Its no way shape or form the same. you dont pay a variable rent based on what you sell. Paypal charges 30 cents per transaction regardless of the total value. That has never been refunded and people understand cost of doing business. Now they are wanting to keep the 3% on top of that. Everyone arguing they are processing transactions seem to miss the fact its literally the same amount of work in collecting $10K as it is collecting $10, but in one case if the buyer decides to return the item just cuz, the seller is out $300 through no fault of their own. Is there work involved, sure but when its a percentage charge its them wanting a cut of the profits, and when there is none, they shouldnt profit nonetheless. They already get to keep the fixed fee to cover the processing costs.
  2. Finally got a copy of my fav dc villain. Has Brittle pages but oh well. Love this book
  3. One of those episodes where youre rooting against both sides.
  4. Maybe it’s one of those things where hiding it somewhere you least suspect someone would put $1.4m. Like honestly that’s one awful protection area
  5. Demand is a function of multiple things that have to be compared. 1. there is less than 100 Batman 11s out there at this time, so you cant get sales close to the other books you mentioned due to the limitations of the book. 2. The value of the book is a big factor. If NM 98 cost as much as Batman 11, demand would be equally as down. 3. Even if Demand is high, sales can be low due to individuals being priced out of a book. More people would prefer an Xmen 1 vs NM 98 but cant afford shelling out the cost for an Xmen 1. But give anyone the choice and they would take xmen 1 any day of the week over NM98. 4. Demand can be high for a book but low sales due to sellers asking too much of a premium. NM98 is so common it will consistenly sell for the exact same price, Batman 11 has all sorts of sales price levels. If Hulk 1 cost as much as New Mutants 98, every copy ever put for sale would immediately sell. Demand would far eclipse NM98 but it might still have fewer sales due to the fact fewer copies are available for sale. But just by the fact that its always sold out would show its the more in demand book.
  6. Ok so I was originally on the OPs side and thought people were hard on him especially since usually stolen items involving collectibles that result in an arrest are highly likely to be the culprit and people were being harsh on him. But man after reading his comments to people along with his history, yikes, I think I must agree with you and the others.
  7. Got this awhile back. So pumped. Batman 49 is One of my fav Golden age bat books.
  8. Will do I’ll double check again today. Thanks for the tips.
  9. Well I did do a page count and check for color touch and no issues there. Really just the cover which seems ok in every area except for how much of the page is showing which feels very excessive. Thanks for the other info will def look into it
  10. Hi. Sorry for the post but I would love to get some experts opinions on this action comics 252 I have. I wouldn’t say I’m a novice but I’m def not an Uber expert. I’ve seen quite a bit in my time but this one gives me a little trepidation. The main concern and reason i suspect there may be trimming is due to how much of the page you see to the right of the cover. Never seen so much before which makes me fear the cover was trimmed. I did do some research on this before posting and here’s some of the conclusions I noticed 1. The cover art seems to show the same or more than many other graded action comics 252. 2. The cover seems to be starting to get loose from the staples which may explain why the cover is pulling to the left of the pages. I dont think it’s trimmed but was hoping some others may have experiences covers that had so much of the page sticking out before. Thanks in advance.
  11. Thanks. I figured as much. Not sure why but this submission feels like it’s taking the absolute longest. Doesnt help that it took 2 weeeks to get processed
  12. Sorry this might be a dumb question but the new tracking system changed a lot of the wording I found. Just out of curiousity is there still a received step or has that been replaced with scheduled for grading? I havent seen any of my submissions at received just straight to scheduled for grading. Sorry for the noob question
  13. Honestly im in the same boat but started last year. I always thought ga books were insanely more expensive than silver age but it’s not really the case in some areas. I found buying cool cool books that others aren’t into at this moment is the key. Last year action comics were not talked about much or had too much attention while joker covers were going crazy in people chasing them. This year action comics are doing well and joker covers are cold. Now I’m looking at joker covers myself. Buy what you like but if you like severa different titles focus on the ones no one else seems to care about right now
  14. Thanks. Well it still need to be shipped from clink but I won the splash page
  15. Does a page from the book count ?. Just got one from the clink auction. Might have overpaid but truthfully I don't care. This is beyond historical imo.
  16. Well thank you for your speculation. But this thread is about books that are heating up. If you want to tout the greatness of MSH 13 more power to you but this isn't the speculation thread. All I said was MSH 12 is heating up and hitting new highs but its still much cheaper than 13. I didn't say it should be worth more or even the same
  17. One Book I don't think anyone has mentioned is Marvel Superheroes 12. Book has been hitting new highs as of late. Still significantly cheaper than 13 but does seem to be closing the gap
  18. Just got my grades for a Economy submission with Fast track. Turn around time until shipping was 16 days. Grades came back way better than I thought though I may have been harsh on the books based on grading earlier this year.
  19. A HUGE HUGE THANK YOU TO THE OP. I have a submission that just switched to scheduled for grading. If I didn't see this thread I would have been in a world of hurt. I work Monday to Friday during normal delivery times and have no way of getting someone to be home. I always use to switch delivery destination once shipped but thankfully I was able to email cgc and have them switch the mailing address for me. Thanks again.
  20. Just happened last week. Paid so much for this more fun comics 101 first superboy. $2750. Oh well you only live once and it's not a book you find often.
  21. Not sure if people qualify this as a grail but it's a personal grail of mine. Just got it in the mail. Never thought I'd own a copy first appearance of superboy
  22. Maybe you think its weak and that's fine. I didn't realize GI Joe was a common naming terminology or anything. Captain Marvel from Marvel only exists as a result of a copyright issue which absent from occurring would have resulted in no Captain Marvel in Marvel comics. Either way, I just found this issue and unfortunately the data online was quite weak for which I was trying to get some more information. The wiki page for GI joe comics began with the Z-D issue and I didn't want to rely on it exclusively and was pondering the question. Sorry if that was weak in your eyes but some of us do like to learn and if you prefer only going into discussions with elite experts in comics, then maybe avoid my threads or that of other newbies.
  23. WHOA that is super cool. Is it a book or magazine or comic?
  24. Thanks. I think I found a copy in a collection, just need to go dig it out. I was just more surprised when I read that this was the first issue and arguably first time GI Joe was in comic format (still trying to confirm this point). Whether it becomes a hot book or not, I find it historically cool and will likely slab my copy and put it amongst my other favorite unique books.
