  1. Some cherry books seen here. Surfer you're definitely on a vampire theme here.
  2. It's a great book, unique for that grey tone Everett cover.
  3. I know this book is not tough in grade, in fact it's usually seen in high grade, I've seen them around, as other collectors have I'm sure, in fact I almost did a trade deal with a local dealer for one, a raw high grade white page example, but I had second thoughts and backed out. Not a Centaur collector.
  4. I don't have much you'd be interested in, certainly nothing that would qualify for this thread.
  5. Be careful , Ben. Actually the spine split on the Central Valley Fantastic 3 is 1.5", not 3". Secondly, it's a 6.0, not a 5.5. lastly, it would grade a 9.4 White, not a 9.0 if the spine split split we're not present. Also, it would grade out higher now, if regarded, seeing this Tec 31 and other Fantastic 3' s in recent memory.
  6. Ben, you've seen All Select 2 more often than the 3, but that's because the 2's are simply shown off more often. Here on the boards, two of the existing CGC 8.0 2's have been shown, ......the 9.4 has as well.... ...but not for sale except for Gator's 8.0 a while back.... Look at the Heritage archives, there are 6 unique copies of each the 2 and 3, but the 2 appears more often because all three of the 8.0's have each sold twice, and two of those played the resub game, back in 2003 or so, so it's not too obvious. None of the AS 3's sold more than once each. Ben, you said that you've only owned one AS 3, have you shown it on these boards? I know you've shown an AS 2 on these boards a few times...
  7. The All-Select 2's Gator has seen for sale have been on E-bay over the years, all low grade.....nothing new under the sun...Gator, your "really" nice all-Select 2.... CGC 8.0 perhaps you had years ago...?
  8. Here's my question for Gator-Does anyone really take your half-baked advice seriously?
  9. Hi Rich, I'm letting folks know that I am the new guy that the last post was referred to,Greg sent me a refund today via Western union, and was very apologetic. Thanks
  10. Hi again, I think comicalgems nailed it when he told me to breathe. Also, the reason I was using a money order was that I can't get my checking account verified with Paypal. I would go back and forth between my bank and Paypal, no luck. I would much rather use Paypal, believe me, and I think I had better resolve this "account verification" issue and start using Paypal. Greg called me today, and was profusely apologetic, and we're going forward.I gave him a positive feedback just now. He told me that he would send me the book in question plus a bonus book for half price. We'll see, If he follows through with sending the books I will send him 420.00 via Western Union, just as gesture of appreciation for the quick refund. Thanks guys.
  11. Paradox just sent me a refund via Western Union! I am now working to get the neg removed! Sean
  12. Hi, I would like to relate a bad experience I've had on ebay with Paradoxauctions09. I won auction 170392378406, Adventures into the Unknown 3, 9.0. I paid by Postal money order, 414.00 -STUPID MISTAKE- book never arrived, seller communication-what a joke. Maybe in a small way this fiasco is a good thing, giving me the opportunity to warn others and to perhaps alert other collectors/dealers who have been burned by Greg Jortner, the most current mailing address of Mr. Jortner. On second thought, considering my listing the full address right here might get this post deleted, please pm me for the address if you desire.I will say here it is in Easton CT. Of special interest is that seller identified himself as"HAESUN JORTNER ". This was after I contacted seller for his mailing address about where to send the money order. Another thing, the ebay contact info for Paradoxauctions09 is listed as Bianca Jung, of Woodbridge CT, with no street address included. Is it possible Greg Jortner hijacked an ebay account? On a whim yesterday I contacted Mark Zaid, as I was pondering my options. Thankfully, Mark alerted me that he thought this seller is actually Greg Jortner, not "Haesun " Jortner . Sean
  13. Bat 11, of course. You get a classic Joker cover and nice Joker splash page, Penguin, and iconic status, and a better investment to boot. That BB 54 cover is great eye candy but for me I wouldn't shell out those bucks for a classic GGA book in itself, regardless of grade.
  14. I'll take the 9.4 Bat 1 over that 6.5 Action 1.I would love a Bat 1 in that high of range, ct and all.The 6.5 Action has no notes, but it has flaws that bother me; staple tears, big bump at bottom right corner, top right scuffs, and heavy staining back lower cover. I'll take the 9.4 AA 16 over that 6.5 Action 1 any day of the week. There is just no comparison there. A better matchup would be the 8.5 Action 1 against the AA 16, then I would choose the Action, because it is a pretty book with more legs to move.
  15. Take the Cap 1. Superman 1 is an overrated, limp and lowly reprint.
  16. Hi MrBedrock, what's the grade on your All-Select 1? Thanks, Steelhelmet
  17. First, I can't believe anybody would be ragging on Steve Carey. He scans his books for us to see by volume. Nuff said. Second, the books he was looking to sell to some BSD's are no-nonsense top-caliber. But yet some still want to question the quality of said books. THE BOOKS HE WAS LOOKING TO SELL WERE CONSISTENT IN QUALITY WITH HIS PERSONAL COLLECTION. I would like to know if Ciorac is feeling particularly whole after recieving "chipped down the side Marvel keys" in exchange for his Bob Kane Batman painting, a crazy valuable piece? 7-day exchange/return policy? Maybe not this time? Hearing this made me angry at work thinking about this and it wasn't even my painting.
  18. I think the Subby 1 cover with the huge Angel blurb on the cover is third tier. The All- Select cover is an all-time classic, the one everyone loves and remembers. Alex Schomburg evidently thought so, when he rendered the Invaders Annual 1 in 1977 as a tribute to All -Select 1.
