  1. (thumbs u Still, they are going for 35 bucks quickly.. Not sure if in the long run the 2nd will be worth more or the 1st? Definitely. Even when first prints of 33 were only selling for $3, I was easily selling second prints for $30. IMO, it's one of the tougher books to find.
  2. Just a heads up that the copy of TWD 33 2nd for 130 was mine and it didn't sell.
  3. I don't mind it either, but I do admit that it is starting to get more blocky / sketchy lately. I'd say to let Rathburn do the inking, as I believe he is one of the best inkers in the business, but I'm thinking the pencils by Adlard on this are very loose and the main work is done with the inks anyway.
  4. there is a ongoing series starting in May i believe, hope its better than all the mini series It's being written by Ann Nocenti so I'm thinking it may surprise some people. I bought the original series for my wife because she wanted it, but after reading a few issues, she thought it was . She was right.
  5. it's happening so often i think it's becoming the norm and not quite so silly anymore. Everything WD is smoking hot. No, no, no!!! It's all confusion in the listings. It has to be right? I mean, it's not possible that there are people OUTSIDE the world of comics coming in to buy these things because they are honestly interested in the stories and collecting them. This little hobby MUST remain OURS and NO ONE else is welcome! The people over in Europe are now being fooled by ebay listings. This world is now full of dishonest ebay listers! They are taking over!!!! The corruption is spreading like a zombie plague!!!
  6. No, the Vertigo titles won't get heat because frankly, they aren't that good. Saucer Country/County or whatever is going to be limited by it's political tone. The New Deadwardians looks cool, but it will be thwarted by the art. With that being said, I really liked Dominique Laveau: Voodoo Child, but I don't ever see it being "hot". I hate to say it, but If the creators really believed in these titles, they'd be Image books. In the future, Vertigo may end up being the farm system for Image. On the other hand, Scalped #1 is starting to pick up a tiny bit of steam. That's long overdue in my book.
  7. And nothing significant has EVER happened from the big two that hasn't been reset fifty times.
  8. A book about turtles and a rat or a character story? Easy choice for me.
  9. i'm sitting on a hoard of super patriot Kirkman has written some real stinkers for sure. Don't ever try and read Savage Dragon God of War or whatever that mini he wrote was called. Aside from Invincible and TWD and MAYBE early Battle Popes, I don't see his other stuff ever being worth keeping value-wise. I loved his stuff on MTU, UXM and Irredeemable Ant-Man though.
  10. Invincible #1 has bumped a bit lately as well. the book is always up and down between 80-150. Right now, it's closer to the higher end of that. It will be interesting to keep an eye on that book as more people outside the world of comics grow to like Kirkman's work. I think all of those trades have ads for invincible in the back and I know that the TWD Weeklies do.
  11. Agreed. That's what I did with Peter Panzerfaust - #1 and #2 and was able to move them. Fatale..... I don't care to read the second issue so I don't care to spend the $3 on it.
  12. I just listed one 10 minutes ago for $40. After 2 minutes, 4 views. After 10 minutes, gone. Fatale 1 2nd print after few days, 2 views. I think I'm getting stuck with that book.
  13. That's an awesome page. I don't really like buying it over again, but John and Rob ALWAYS make sure everything Chew is worth the cash.
  14. I'd be very surprised if this book did less than Fatale. This is BKV.
  15. Holy mess, dude. Nice haul! Love me some Chew.
  16. Read it. Not the best first issue I've ever read, but it's pretty great. Chew would have to be the best first issue I've ever read.
  17. Those particular issues are good ones. I'm convinced that what is happening is non-comic collectors are wanting to collect the series after seeing the show and/or possibly reading the trades. Then when they see the prices on some of the issues, they settle for the weeklies.
  18. A shop that supports Image? I wish that was my shop. Riley is the man. One day all of you fools will recognize his brilliance!
  19. Are you CRAZY? You might get fingerprints on them ruining your retirement fund.
  20. Really? Usually it's primarily on the creators to generate buzz. A book like Saga or Fatale, yeah, they are marketing the books for sure.
  21. I see your point, definitely. Projections could and should be better on these bigger books. But most of these Image books (not Saga obviously) are only selling 4-7K copies of #1 issues. It just doesn't make sense to go back to print for another 1K or whatever they end up printing again. I say what I say mainly because Image partners have been asked the same question and the answer to do they underprint is always "No" for the reasons I mention. The whole "Final Order Cutoff" was created so that they could get a better idea on orders to be able to print to demand. Retailers aren't ordering early enough even with final order cut-off. Didn't we JUST find out that Saga JUST sold out at the distributor? Are they supposed to be able to print and ship over night? They need a few weeks. But hey, I'm glad that Saga is sold out. I stand to make some money off of some extra copies just like all you other fools.
  22. Print to order and then advertise a sellout. Great gimmick. Image overprints. They just can't overprint like Marvel and DC because it's all on the creator instead of a corporation. What would BKV do with 5K extra copies of Saga sitting at his place? Blame it on retailers for not ordering enough initially. I can guarantee you that Image would rather sell 40K copies the first run and not have to do a second rather than sell 32K copies and have to go back to press and incur more costs to print another 8K.
