  1. Thanks! The trades definitely don't have any extras. This I know. Good to hear that the HCs have some extras.... particularly the covers. I think I'll pick them up for re-reading. I'm wondering if these have the same extras as the Omnis. The first omni was loaded with extras. The second.... not so much.
  2. Question for those who get the HCs - Do they have any extras or is it like the trades which only have the story? I pick up singles, omnis and now the compendium. I got rid of my trades after the compendium came out. Considering getting the HCs for re-reading because they are a bit over-sized and the Invincible HCs are just perfect. Plus I'm not sure I can wait 24 issues for the omnis. Just flipped Omnibus #1 again. Thank God for Eric Stephenson. If Kirkman would've stuck with the original pitch and the story planned, it would've flopped.
  3. I can't wait for the aliens in issue 75. Only 4 more issues!!
  4. True. Admittedly, my choice of words isn't always the best. (thumbs u
  5. Maybe not. If he does another 100 - 200 run of variant of a book I like, I'll try to keep track of his ebay sales for myself. Obviously, there's no way I can track his in store sales (which you'd think would be fairly significant for an in store signing like this one was). Obviously, getting proof is about impossible. And I'm not even saying he has a ton more than advertised, but I always have questions.
  6. I still have trouble believing any numbers attached to any of the Larry's variants. 200 is a pretty small #. I'd bet that members here can almost account for all of those.
  7. Thanks. I was hoping that wasn't the case but figured it might be. (thumbs u
  8. My understanding was that the book had a print of 100 so it wouldn't be hard for it to dry up Agreed. That's why I snatched one up for probably more than I needed to spend. One the other hand, supposedly the Larry's Variant has only 200. I'd think those would be snatched up by now too, but there are several out there not selling. I know he has a voucher around here now, but it still wreaks. Wondering what the 100 copy run would go for now...... might put mine up in a bit.
  9. on the inside cover it tells you which print it is. I know that of course, but that won't do me much good when the book is in a slab or in an ebay auction. On all the other TWD second prints, there are ways to tell by the cover alone without having to read the inside cover: different cover date, upc box numbers being different, different covers or different coloring on the covers. I'm not aware of how to tell on #7 by just the cover like the other ones because I've never owned both..... Wondering if anyone else knows. If you have both a first and second print of #7, it would be greatly appreciated if you could check the: coloring (I have a feeling one may be brighter), the price box numbers, and the cover date (I think it's the same). I'm sure CGC would catch it, but it would be nice to know for regular ebay auctions from asseclownes who don't say if it's a first or a second.
  10. What happened to all of the Art of Chew sketchbooks on ebay? Did they dry up that quickly? What were they going for? I'm not talking about the Larry's limited to 200 version. There are a bunch of those sitting there. I'm talking about the one that Guillory brought to the Con.
  11. On #7, other than the indicia, is there any way you can tell the first prints from the second prints? I know on #8, the numbers in the UPC box are different between the two printings, but is there a difference on #7? I find it odd that CGC doesn't show any second prints of 7 or 8 graded in the census, yet #2 has a few. I'm hoping the slab I just bought isn't a second print (doesn't say it on the slab).
  12. JAN100458 CHOKER #2 (MR) $3.99 SEP090286 I KILL GIANTS TITAN ED HC VOL 01 $39.99 JAN100555 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #625 $2.99 Holy . The I Kill Giants HC is finally coming out. FINALLY. I gave away my trade a while ago and have been waiting and waiting. If you haven't tried it or heard of it, it's amazing and not at all what it seems. I can see this being included in High School recommended reading lists in the future. A must read for sure.
  13. Looks pretty sweet, but I'm hoping this is a maxi rather than a regular series. I'd hate to see something as cool as the GotG flop like Brit or AWM.
  14. Soon, you will feel the need for multiple copies.
  15. Invincible is easily my favorite, but the motion comic straight up sucked. The readers were terrible.
  16. Ottley is rocking it. If you haven't been reading Invincible for a while, it really started rocking the mess at issue 60.
  17. I missed out on that convo...... so everyone thinks it's going to be in color? If it'sin color, I hope it's that washed out look. The colors in the TV series shouldn't be nice bright colors as this is the end of the world we are talking about here.
  18. Good point. I was a completist buying all the printings until that Larry's book came out. I think it's still the only book that I don't have..... Well, that and the Larry's Art of Chew skectchbook. Now, I'm out as a Chew completist.
  19. Based on what? I am confidant that the print run is the advertised 1000 copies. I am involved in dealing with Larry's variants (started in 2009) and would not make that claim if I felt otherwise. If you want to question my word on it (which is absolutely your prerogative) and have information I should know about, I'm all ears. I don't know about the Chew variant, but I DO believe there are more than the stated 1K Invincible 1 variants out there. There are a ton of them on ebay and used to be even more. Sorry, but if there was only 1K of these books, the majority would already be in private collections and not trading hands all the time. I tend not to believe whatever numbers Larry's comics puts out there. I don't have any evidence (and who would besides Larry's and the printers), but from what I see, I believe his numbers to be bogus. I had no involvement with any variants prior to 2009, however I will make this statement: I will vouch for advertised prints runs of Larry's Comics variants that have been printed since 2009. Please tell me what you see about the Chew book to indicate otherwise. Nothing. Since the Invincible #1, I've completely stopped paying attention to the books Larry's puts out as "variants". I don't care to buy them. It's good to see he has a voucher on stuff he recenlty got printed though.

  21. I'm certain someone else will have a better answer, but I'd think that since the first print is the original, it's more desired. Therefore, those issues tend to stay in collecitons of people who really want the book. Later printings seem to change hands more often even if there are less of them out there.
  22. Stop reading it if you don't like it by the second volume. If you can't get past the 7 year old with a gun, stop reading it. However, I find it ironic that you are looking to buy a set of Kick where regular kids do insane stuff. The series definitely gets better, but the 7 year old is always going to have the gun. Maybe stick to comics about men who don't age running around in tights. I find a 7 year old with a gun a bit more believable, but I do tend to read Carl to be a bit older in my mind (maybe 10-11ish). I think Carl probably should've been a bit older, but reality isn't Kirkman's strong point. Just look at the priest in Haunt who acts nothing at all like a priest. Can't blame Kirkman though, he grew up reading comics in the 90s when that type of stuff didn't matter.
