Wanted to show off my newest scrap to building my Batman #1. This was found at the Kane County toy show today by a fellow golden age collector and I swapped for it. It had the dated note that had been glued to it and someone had recently removed the note and taped the cover to a newer border. I am hoping the newer tape comes off fairly easy. I will eventually send it to Kenny and get the tape removed and ask him to leafcast a border back around it. The 2 batman cutouts on it lift up so hopefully they will come off as well. Franken book smanken book ... I don't care ... I love finding parts!

Thanks, yes this a case of the second page being as cool as the first!

My craptastic entry into the Batman #1 club arrived today ... all the way from Australia in a bubble mailer ... I am more than happy to start trying to piece this together if I can trade for a first and last page sometime down the road and then eventually have Kenny leafcast the corners back on, it will clean up ok. The burn goes right up to the art only on a few pages apparently since there is nothing on the label about "slightly affects art" etc ... 10 years ago I wouldn't have even kept really any coverless book, now I am all excited to find them!

Coverless Supe 1 went for how much ????!!!
Monsters-n-heroes replied to Chicago Boy's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Probably the Action #1 since Superman #1 is basically a reprint book. I am a Superman fan but I have never understood why a #1 is worth more than a Batman #1 with it having the first Joker and Catwoman. Superman #1 copies a bunch of previously used images and stories. Action #1 even coverless is still the first appearance so would lean that way and piece together my Superman #1 -

I am looking for a centerfold and covers but glad to have what I have. I should have bought all of this coverless stuff 10 years ago when no one wanted it! -

Clarkkentdds ... you beat me to it. I think he is referring to that one. I thought that was a pretty strong price for being married and all the doodles on the back and chunky front and that. -
Very nice!

Monsters-n-heroes replied to Wayne-Tec's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Do parts count ... I don't have time for such fancy things as front covers or completeness or all that nonsense ... lol. Seriously, I am just working on piecing them together, I am very patient and stuff still turns up! ... I just bought a #10 back cover a few days ago ... so we are getting there! -
