  1. I thought the exact same thing. I saw this and thought of Macao, where he's not a sailor but because of the fight scene at the end on a boat. And then of course... Jane Russell...
  2. 1 more! I was racking my brain for an image and it finally kicked in...
  3. Let the Heade begin (did it take this long?)...
  4. Lastly, ASM #798 with the 1st Red Goblin. Lots of variants on this one, but I opted for the standard cover. The $ was right, just wish I knew about the newton rings all over Spidey (doubt you can see them in this pic):
  5. 2 signature series books and 2 more 1st appearances! The first is an awesome Chris Bachalo cover. Thought about getting the one after it, as they are kind of a set, but it was only a 9.6 so maybe another time. This is cool enough for now. 1st Norah Winters, ASM #575: Next up, a variant cover and the 1st appearance of the new Rhino. Cool retro-vibe on this one! ASM #617:
  6. A handful of 1st Spider-Man appearances arrived today! First up, a cameo is made by a villain here. Not sure why this Carnage cameo isn't more valuable. Maybe it's the cover? Or because there's a ton available? In any case, here's ASM #360:
  7. A new batch just arrived today, only 1 for the Hobgoblin set. Later on in the ASM V1 run, Hobby joined the Sinister Six!
  8. I wanted a nice copy of ASM #800, but which one? There's only a few hundred! In the end I picked this version. I remember seeing thisimage as a poster waaaaaaay back in the day and always loved it. I ended up getting the Moebius Elektra one (still have it!) but never tracked this image down - until now! Here's my #800: On a side note, I also discovered that this Lisner version of ASM #799 exists, so if anyone has a 9.8 copy laying around they aren't married to send me a PM. I may start a WTB thread on it too.
  9. Smart to keep the slabs in the bags, it must help you keep the drool off of them. SWEET JEEBUS! Well done sir!
  10. I can verify, set name changes are happening! Thanks @Forbush-Man!
  11. I met him like 30 years ago in NYC. I got him to sign this for me (stock image, mine isn't scanned): Got Jim Lee and Frank Miller to sign their covers too. Not able to meet Toth I'm afraid, but Gary Ginanni who did a story in that issue signed it for me.
  12. Good stuff! I saw the Love Diary stories, and the "Need More Money" looked like it was a story title. My eyes perked up if that was a story name in a romance book... thought that was a "tad" suggestive for a second. Jeez, what does Barbara do for that extra cash! Then again, I haven't had coffee yet...
  13. I thought it was a tad excessive, but who knows with the Cole market. I'll be grading mine eventually, just a matter of time. Congrats on having that other! Got a scan?
  14. I just created one of those using the method from the 1st page I described. It seemed to work for Scott above too. I know the descriptions and set names are still part of the overall issue though. But I hope you can at least get new sets in. Good luck!
  15. This is.... EPIC! Congrats! I can see the comments in the listing now... "Voted best LB Cole romance cover by the CGC boards!"
  16. I was following that listing when you posted it last, just for fun. I'm not going to say anything bad about neat stuff. I think I got my ASM #1 CGC 3.0 from them decades ago, and likely bought other stuff from them back then too. But I hear what you're getting at. Wonder if there is feedback from the buyer of the prior auction. Fun story to watch, if nothing else.
