Huge thanks to @Kevlar for handling the Keaton signing, couldn't be happier with how this turned out!

Question for the group - the inner well is shifting slightly in all directions, depending on how the slab is tilted.  Is this CGC's new normal?

I have noticed the slight shifting too in a couple slabs that I have received recently.  On the plus side - no Newton Rings with the shifting.

    Nice book btw!

    That IS Cool!

Did the facilitator or CGC put the word's on the front of the label? or attribute it to Eastman? If you've seen my rather long remark by Claremount about Wolverine, with his rather long catch phrase, "I'm the best at what I do, but what I do 'best' isn't very nice".... anyway CGC or the Facilitator DID get them to attribute it to Claremount on the front label :shy:

I'm just curious if "CGC would allow Eastman's quote" on the label lol

But that  IS   a sweet sketch and quote! :headbang:

Thanks!  I was sure to put the quote and who wrote it on the form... and CGC put it on the label!

Ugh I wanna do this so bad. So many things to buy these days :ohnoez:

Wonder when the next chance for sig will be...I usually prefer getting sigs in person...

Please anyone correct me on this if I am wrong - but I heard Todd does not do grading/witness signings at conventions.  He will sign raw books at conventions - but not for grading.  Again I may be wrong on this (maybe its a comic urban myth) but I have heard it more than once from different people.

I appreciate your detailed response as opposed to a passive aggressive noob comment from keyboard warrior up there.

I purchased this 2 years ago from a high volume dealer so I am past the point of being able to inquire.  You can barely see the lines and they are on the back.  I'm also wondering if there is a chance that they re-grade it and it comes back better...I suppose the opposite could happen as well.

Everyone was a noob at some point!

If the slab was one of the older ones - then chances are it probably was not previously pressed.  But that's just my guess.  If the slab was one of the new ones - then its probably a flip of a coin if it was or was not already pressed.  Since you bought it 2 years ago - chances are it might not have been - but without finding out from the original owner you will never know.

You're question is really one to be answered by you - you asked if its worth $20 for a potential grade bump (you would hope it doesn't go down a grade but it can happen).  You have to ask yourself what are you wanting from all of this?  If you are satisfied with Todd's signature on a 9.4 (assuming it comes back the same grade) - then it's not worth your extra cash for the press.  And you're a happy camper with Todd's signature on an awesome key book.  But, if you want to take a $20 gamble on a possible grade bump - then it's totally worth it.

Maybe the better question for you is - are you going to regret not getting it pressed?  Because if you will feel that way later - it will definitely cost you more than $20 to send it back in to get pressed & regraded again.

And a color break is a color break and will always be a color break - regardless of how hard it may be to see to you.  CGC will find it and grade appropriately.  Only restoration will help "fix" that for you.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who has reoccurring problems with this. I read somewhere that the line for signatures is done by hand.

The automation engineer in me thinks it could easily be automated with the rest of the label, or at least given a check box style list for creators they could filter through...

I used to have a CGC slabbed book where Olivier Coipel did the cover art (not a sketch mind you) - and it was reflected correctly as such on the label regarding who the creators were that worked on the book.  It was also signed by him - but CGC put on the label that it was signed by "Olivier Copiel."  So - they had his name spelled both correctly and incorrectly on the same label.  But it all worked out in the end - I sent it to CGC and they fixed the label for free and all was right in the universe.
