  1. I'm not saying to recast RDJ or replace him. I'm saying a what if Pepper Potts as CEO of Stark Enterprises decided to continue Stark's dream of a suit of armor around the world, what if she decides to keep Iron Man alive by keeping the suit operational but with a young team of remote operators. It might be kind of cool to sort of democratize the armor so that anybody could be in the armor, but not to replace Tony Stark, but honor him. And it might be cool if RDJ wants to stick around the MCU in a limited capacity by being a kind of AI for this effort to keep Iron Man alive.
  2. And Brie Larson is waaaay better than Emily Blunt who was like a non-entity as Mary Poppins 2.0.
  3. You can recast her in your dreams, how 'bout that?
  4. The MCU is like Star Wars now. It’s too successful to reboot and Marvel doesn’t have to. Anybody, or nobody, can be Iron Man. It can even be team of people, S.T.A.R.K.
  5. But that’s the brilliance of Kevin Feige’s plan. Avengers 1 doesn’t work without the success of IM, Cap, and Thor’s first movies. Infinity War is that much bigger because of the success of GOTG and Black Panther. It’s been a cross-over team effort since Phase One and will continue to be so as long as they keep making good movies to build off each other.
  6. Hmm, Iron Man and Captain America are only A list now because of the MCU movies. Before that, Spider-Man, Hulk, and Wolverine are your A listers. Besides Spidey, the MCU has created other A listers because of its success including Black Panther, Thor, and yes, even Captain Marvel. The Avengers have worked for 60+ years with a rotating roster. They’ll be fine and maybe better off without Stark. So the MCU can’t draw the big crowds without IM and CA, huh? Hmm. Let’s say Disney doesn’t need every MCU movie to make 3 billion dollars but are fine with a billion. Nearly every MCU movie without RDJ or Evans has made almost a billion and the last two films, Black Panther with enthusiasm from the African American community, and Captain Marvel, with enthusiasm from women all over the world, have made well over a billion. I think the MCU will be just fine.
  7. Black Widow has a writer, a director, is partially cast. It's happening and is coming out next year. I think if it's a prequel, it may tie in to the Disney Plus shows so that it serves a future story arc. If it's present day, a cosmic Black Widow story where she somehow escapes the Soul Stone (which has been done in the comics) would be out of this world. But I think it's a prequel with a story that maybe sets up present day Falcon and Bucky, kind of like what Captain America First Avenger did. Serpent Crown, maybe? Been waiting for that little Marvel artifact to rear its ugly head for a while now.
  8. I had a few gripes with Endgame, too, but after a second view, my gripes that I guess were born out of personal expectations went out the window, and I love the movie. I like how Marvel Studios is taking more risks with their storytelling, from Ragnarok to Black Panther to Captain Marvel and this movie, they're experimenting now because they can afford to, and I like it. Did Tony Stark have to die? At that point in the battle, it was maybe 50/50. Strange, with a little party trick, fooled Thanos into thinking he had the actual Gauntlet, which bought everybody some time and allowed Tony to get the real Gauntlet With Thor and Danvers, they could have all ganged up on Thanos as the mothership was now destroyed though there were still thousands of alien soldiers left. Tony could have given the Gauntlet to Carol Danvers, but he didn't, he made the decision to end it once and for all, and without asking Carol or Thor to possibly sacrifice themselves. He sacrificed himself to end any chance of Thanos getting the Gauntlet back and wiping out the universe. He didn't have to use the Gauntlet, but I think it was a logical choice. It was his tech, and even though he can be a jerk at times, Stark really was a hero, and proved it at that moment. I also think it made sense that Black Widow made the sacrifice. Clint made peace with his past already, he moved on. Natasha never could. She'd been looking for a way to clear her ledger since Phase One. I think she cleared it in Endgame.
  9. One benefit of Tony Stark leaving the picture is now everybody has to up their game, and that would be a good thing. It got too easy for the filmmakers to just have Stark dream up a device and problem solved. It was kind of a Mary Sue of technology and it got to be too much, I think. Now Banner, Hank Pym and Shuri will have to be the big tech brains until Reed Richards finally comes along in a few years.
  10. I think if Tony Stark were to come back at all in the MCU it would be as an AI. It would kind of sync with his tech legacy that he'd become his own creation in the end. You saw a hint of that at the end of Endgame. And all RDJ would have to provide is his voice if he's game and Disney wants to pay him. Anybody could be inside the Iron Man armor, or nobody.
  11. The dude said he was basically done with the MCU because he loves only Iron Man and Captain America. The only other comic book universe to turn to is the DCEU. And I think we can all agree that because of Zach Snyder that universe has been on the average subpar. I loved Wonder Woman, thought Shazam! was good. But the MCU is so compelling now, I just don't understand the equal "hate" people have for Marvel just because they're trying to give women a more prominent role in the franchise. Last I checked we're in the 21st century and...oh wait, that guy's still president...never mind...
  12. And I honestly wished him well as he swears off the only comic book movie franchise that really matters. Yay, Suicide Squad! Meanwhile, I’ll look forward to The Eternals, Doctor Strange 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, Black Panther 2, yes, even Captain Marvel 2, Thor 4, rebooted X-Men, rebooted Fantastic Four, those Disney Plus shows...ah, life as a Marvel fan is good....
  13. Have fun with DC then. They need your money more than Disney does. Happy trails!
  14. I think the mutants (who won’t appear for a while if Feige is telling truth) will be explained by the Celestials Deviant gene. The Eternals movie I think is going to be big in opening up the MCU post Endgame. I wonder if this alternate timeline concept in Endgame will be how we finally get the Magus, the evil version of Adam Warlock (when he appears)? Wonder if we’ll get a Counter Earth, (also from Warlock)?
  15. I wonder if this one is now going to have a title change after Endgame? Visions body was still intact in Wakanda (except a crater in his head). I figure being in the place Vibranium comes from is a convenient place to repair Vision’s vibranium body once Shuri figures out how to make his AI work without the Mind Stone. And nobody said Sam Wilson was going to take the name Captain America. He’s just going to wield the shield as far as we know. Maybe put a star on his chest.
  16. That's Digital Spy's (who are they?) interpretation, and I wouldn't call them or whomever yahoo wrote the article an official source for the MCU. The Red Skull simply said "a soul for a soul." He didn't say "you must kill and murder someone you love against their will." Red Skull's words are open to interpretation. Clint and Natasha's sacrifice works and was more heartbreaking than Gamora's sacrifice, imo.
  17. You have to think also that Steve's a super soldier and should age slower. I'd have thought he'd look better than he did at the end of Endgame, actually.
  18. I think Banner suffered the injury because it seemed to me he wasn't fully Hulked out. I think Banner's gamma essence will fully heal him back.
  19. If you look at the final scene, Cap went further back in time than 1970. That house and the cars and the music looked like post WWII to me, as in late 1940's.
  20. As I said, according to Jim Starlin's Adam Warlock stories, the Soul Stone is almost alive and hungers. "A soul for a soul" totally works with Jim Starlin's interpretation as well as the MCU's. I don't think every sacrifice for the Soul Stone has to be some violent murder like Thanos did with Gamora. It can also be the situation with Clint and Natasha. It counts.
  21. I'd say Clinton certainly lost someone he loved. It was a sacrifice.
  22. "Lord, you give them eyes but they cannot see." - Gene Hackman, 1978
  23. Clint sacrificed his best friend Natasha. He didn't want to, but this one counts. The Soul Stone is hungry. It'll take what it can get, at least, according to Jim Starlin.
  24. I think you need to watch the movie a second time. Most of your gripes are explained or aren't plot holes. Rogers returns Mjolnir 2 to Asgard at the end. Carol lost the gauntlet because Thanos punched her. Carol could have used the gauntlet maybe, but Tony chose to end this thing once and for all. They were trying to bring the Gauntlet to the Quantum tunnel in the van to send it into the Quantum realm. Putting the stones back at the same time they were taken would prevent an alternate reality as explained by the Ancient One. Cap and the Soul Stone's return could make for an interesting tale, but it's not a plot hole. Maybe he didn't return it to Vormir? Maybe that's how it ends up with Adam Warlock in GOTG Vol 3? Natasha and Gamora are in the Soul Stone and according to the comics, that's not a complete death.
  25. What!? It's because of Iron Man and Captain America that the Avengers didn't work (as a team). You mean it doesn't work without all that in-fighting? And there have been a few MCU team ups the past few years sans RDJ and Chris Evans and they seemed to do just fine. Guardians of the Galaxy don't need them. Thor's little team of heroes in Ragnarok didn't need them. Carol Danvers even had her own little team with Nick Fury, Maria, and Talos and it was a fun adventure. The Avengers without the tension between Stark and Rogers will be different, but they'll be just fine. There are different stories you can tell other than a Civil War. How about an Avengers team that actually gets along and is functional? What a concept! Sam was the perfect person. He's still a soldier and cares about the good fight. Bucky is like Steve, he just wants to rest after living a lifetime murdering people for Hydra and the Russians. Sam may need a suit and weapons upgrade (Vibranium?) to be a more suitable Cap/Falcon hybrid, but he'll do just fine, too.
