Getting story scoops when an ever-changing MCU project is barely in pre-production is one thing, getting scoops for a MCU project that's deep in post and has already had test screenings is another. I trust KC Walsh over this Sneider guy any day of the week. I'm going with The Marvels is humming along and has been delayed to make the VFX better and thus the movie better.

Well, a Young Avenger ( as in singular) did appear in Ant-Man 3 in the person of Cassie Lang's debut as a superhero. You left these out from the Reddit list... High Evolutionary is the main villain of GotG Vol. 3 (Dec 6, 2021) Daredevil will appear in his yellow costume in She-Hulk (Dec 6, 2021) She-Hulk will be a straight comedy, with similarly fast-paced jokes as Deadpool (though not R-rated). She-Hulk will directly address Kevin Feige in the show (Dec 7, 2021) Corey Stoll is playing MODOK in Quantumania (Dec 8, 2021) All turned out to be true. You don't just guess that She-Hulk will address Kevin Feige in the show and that Darren Cross will be MODOK. Those are legit scoops. KC Walsh also nailed Doc Ock and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man 3 and that Bruce Banner would go off-world in the She-Hulk series. Sure, he gets some wrong, but he has a history of scoops that turn out to be true. I believe it was Walsh who scooped that Aquaman 2 test screenings went horrible including people walking out.

In response to the John Schneider The Marvels rumor, insider KC Walsh, who has a history of reliable scoops, said this weekend: "Again I’ve heard nothing negative around this production, the movie has gotten more positive praise from test than other MCU films this year... Okay, I've actually never heard of John Schneider (the scooper) before, but whatever. Mighty Captain Marvel sense is tingling here. The Marvels wrapped principal shooting more than a year ago, and NOW we get something about on-set drama? And part of the alleged on-set drama is because Brie is upset about the movie's title? What, before each scene would she announce that she's mad the movie isn't called Captain Marvel Number Two to the crew? How is anybody a nightmare on set? You mean like Christian Bale yelling at a lighting guy for messing up his take and calling crew members unprofessional nightmare? Did she yell at Teyonna Parris telling her to sit down and that she used to change her diapers as a baby and did Teyonna yell back "you deserted us!" before they started shooting imaginary photon blasts at each other? Brie Larson has zero history of being difficult on-set and now this Schneider guy heard a rumor that she's being difficult on set more than a YEAR after principal shooting has wrapped? Yes, I know I'm Captain Marvel superfan around here, but this gossip story just doesn't make sense to me.

I believe Jean Grey never went back to the Marvel Girl name once she became Phoenix in the comics in the late 70’s. Probably in part because she was dead, but maybe also it’s a silly name. Also maybe because Ms Marvel was introduced. Both titles written by Chris Claremont btw who always strived for equity and fairness in his stories, including giving Carol Danvers a voice in Avengers Annual 10 after Marvel Comics allowed her to get date raped by Marcus, a Kang variant, and seemed to think there was nothing wrong with it.

I understand “mutants” is not a great name for a superhero title. I think Marvel publisher Martin Goodman understood that 60 years ago, as well. That’s why I said I think it will be something with X, like House of X.

Let me clarify. When I said “we get it”, I didn’t mean a certain group gets it. I meant all humans with a competent understanding of the English language understand that “man” and “mankind” are umbrella terms encompassing both male and female. I meant “people get it”, but I happened to use the word “we.” Something tells me you still don’t get it.

Wasn’t there a movie about a straw man who wanted a brain? As far as my head being somewhere dark, I seem to be the only vocal one here who understands both sides of the argument of tradition versus change. I get why some folks want to keep things the way they were, but nobody else posting seems to want to understand the positive side of changing that going forward other than it being some kind of evil dastardly thing. Maybe some other folks need to pull their heads out of dark places?

I’ll address both concerns at once. ”We” refers to anyone with a brain, whether you’re for, against, or don’t care about the “Men” thing. I actually personally don’t care. ”Older fans” could just be “fans”, because as far as I can tell, young folks don’t really care about the X-Men, Wolverine, or mutants in general. Ask any ten year old who Wolverine is and they’ll most likely respond with “You mean, WHAT’S a wolverine?”

Except Marvel Comics hasn’t just used “X-Men” when referring to groups of mutants over the years. They’ve also used X-Factor, X-Force, X-Terminators, X-Statix, X-Cellent, House of X, Powers of X, Destiny of X, Legion of X, Knights of X, Way of X, Generation X, Excalibur, Exiles, and the New Mutants, among others. Look, we get it. When you say “mankind”, you’re referring to men and women together. But those “rules” of language and diction were established hundreds of years ago when men dic*tated everything, from who got to fight to what gender god is. That’s no longer the case. And women aren’t a “group”, they’re literally half of all human beings. I think it’s a sticky situation. It’s not just Victoria Alonso, either. Kevin Feige has never used the word X-Men except referring to the animated show. He’s called them mutants. I think Marvel Studios doesn’t want to use the X-Men name, but also understands the dilemma with older fans. I think Marvel kicks the mutant issue can way down the road as they focus on current storylines and getting the Fantastic Four cinematically right, which is another problem itself. I think in the end, Marvel Studios will not use the X-Men title, and will go with House of X or something. But that won’t be for a long time. I think.

Sounds like a mutant ability. Stan Lee might have been on to something with the X idea that humans fear that which is different. And does it always have to be about “appeasing groups” to some of y’all? How about comics don’t just have to be mindless entertainment but can also be an art form that reflects the ever changing world around us? Maybe Kevin Feige feels that responsibility with all that power, regardless if there’s a vocal contingent opposed to the march of change.

Kind of like with the dozen or so movies with Superman or Batman in the title, releasing movies entitled Man of Steel or Dark Knight work because people know who we’re talking about by now. I think the same applies to X-Men. We don’t necessarily need another movie entitled X-Men. In fact, it might feel a little stale. I think a title like “House of X” works, a title that speaks to a family built in part by Charles Xavier. I say in part because I think Emma Frost will be a co-founder. Fan theory. Either way, I think a fresh approach would be refreshing.

This outfit looks more like vintage Wonder Woman. I think the photo I posted, blue with simple gold trim and gold belt, looks more like Captain Marvel.

How can Carol Danvers be the anchor when she’s hardly around, so far, in her long off-world superhero career? Story-wise, the OP character who other heroes seem to have to turn to for help the most (since Tony Stark is dead), has been Stephen Strange. Also, with the rise of magic energy and the multiverse in Phase Four, he’s kind of an expert there. Carol Danvers has simply not been integrated into the mainstream yet. Her first movie took place 30 years ago out of the public eye and she mostly provided an assist in Endgame, as opposed to being a major emotional part of the story. She’s almost still a secret, story-wise, though we do know from Ms Marvel she’s starting to make a name for herself. What I’ve said about Carol is what Feige has said, that she’ll soon be at the forefront of the MCU. In nautical terms, that might be more like the ship’s figurehead. Captain Marvel (soon) ^

“Nothing more than a means to an end”? Doctor Strange is probably the anchor of the MCU right now. He arguably had the coolest scene in Infinity War, his fight with Thanos. Strange has had two strong character development solo movies: The first where he learns there’s more to life outside himself, and the sequel where he learns to put his trust in others and proves he’s the superior Dr. Strange. Imho, the MCU Dr Strange is superior to the comics version.

Oof, I’m not sure I’d be making comparisons between Quantumania and Justice League. Quantumania’s 47% RT critics tally and projected $500 million box office is a disappointment for sure, but that in no way is comparable to Justice League’s theatrical release meltdown of a 38% RT tally and $650 million box office to a $300 million budget and had ALL the DC big hitters in it. Yes, Quantumania was the first Phase Five movie, but it’s still Ant-Man, the historically least money-making series in the MCU, a hero who barely featured in Marvel Comics to begin with. Justice League brought down the Snyderverse. Quantumania will do well enough for Marvel to stay the course while at the same time adapting its new quality not quantity philosophy.

If this is referring to me, you mean by moth am I like (besides being an Ant-Man fan from childhood) both a bigly movie fan and comic book fan and am therefore drawn to the warm glow of the only good comic book movie in town right now? ( and news flash, Quantumania is a good movie) Then I guess so, only Quantumania doesn’t burn to the touch.

So based on what we know from Loki, Quantumania, and writer Jeff Loveness’ recent statement that Kang didn’t lie… He Who Remains prevented infinite multiverses by pruning them via the TVA, thus preventing the possibility of an infinite number of Kangs who all possess the secret to time. When Sylvie killed He Who Remains, that event created the infinite multiverse and thus an infinite number of Kangs, which is why Loki returns to a TVA with Kang statues everywhere. He Who Remains warns Sylvie before he dies “wait until you meet my variants.” The Kang of Quantumania is the first variant we meet after Sylvie’s act, who states only he can stop the infinite number of Kangs. So if Kang didn’t lie, then Kang is actually a hero in a way, and Scott and the Pyms did the same thing Sylvie is guilty of, that is, stopping the one man who knows how to stop infinite numbers of himself from destroying everything. So, like Thanos, is there a possibility that Kang is right?
