  1. Baroness. CAT tracks almost all the art posted for sale (it does not catch everything, like Comiclink auctions or Facebook sales). Go to the site, and in the search box type in Baroness. Have fun!
  2. I think you are being unduly harsh. People have different opinions, and differing opinions can cause conflict. Some people also just like to have a little fun. I wouldn’t take it personally. I also wouldn’t be so sure anyone reported you for a posting. Don’t outside monitors, or perhaps programs, sometimes flag things?
  3. Does Mylar offer any protection from exposure to light, or just against degradation of the paper?
  4. Maybe I missed it, but what did they do now? The list of things they could have done is pretty long. Change prices, misrepresented some art, add things to art...?
  5. A few pieces involving this character showed up recently on Comic Art Tracker.
  6. One of my favorites is Tom Mandrake. He may not be familiar with Tala, but if you explain the idea of how they relate, he could definitely run with it.
  7. Are you referring to artists, flippers or Presidential candidates?
  8. It looks like he has stopped a bit short of 60. Anyone know what happened? Fatigue?
  9. I do enjoy it. I just don’t want it all framed.
  10. I don't display much art primarily due to raw volume. Furthermore, displaying it on walls prevents easy comparison and contrast unless they are posted next to each other. Besides, I really do not want my living space decorated with around 100 Phantom Strangers and other assorted miscreants. Visitors might think I need a bunk bed at Happy Acres or electro-shock therapy. Maybe they are right. I like to store them in Itoya's, for the most part, and then take them out every once in a while and place them, while in top loaders, around my home office or bedroom. I can then position them as I see fit, e.g., a run of splashes, various Chaykin pieces, etc.
  11. I can’t say I know what the additional value attributable to the JLA publication is, but I do follow Phantom Stranger art fairly closely and the Aparo art from PS’s own book is superior to this rendition. The Aquaman, however, was nice. I would have expected it to go for a bit over 2k. By the way, there are not a lot of Phantom Stranger collectors out there. I can only think of 2 others who strongly concentrate, with some others who buy when available on occasion.
  12. I was watching the Aparo page from JLA 200 with the Phantom Stranger and Aquaman. The page went for $2,920, and I think that was a surprising strong price for a 1982 Aparo page with a mediocre rendering of PS.
  13. I tried the survey. It's a bit hard to develop an interest in a page when the dialog is not in a language I can read. Half of sequential art is the story, and much of what was shown was dependent on the dialog (or, at least it seemed that way).
  14. I think they will be back next year, particularly with all the progress being made on a vaccine. But to be honest, I love going to con's even though I almost never buy anything other than commissions (and supplies). They have an energy which just can't be replicated on-line.
  15. The last winner's choice. For a real change of pace, how about Woozie Winks?
  16. As a Premium Member, I should be able to access the art at this time. All I can see are thumbnails. No access to the actual item. What's up with this? Is there some special portal I should have gone through to access the site as a premium member?
  17. Considering his work and place in OA history, he is more reasonable.
  18. In New Jersey, transferring money from PAC to PAC is called wheeling. Did you know the Clinton’s are worth over 100 million? So, yes I do believe there is honor among thieves.
  19. PAcs and re-election campaigns. Trading favors.
  20. Biggest mistake: letting my ex-wife get around to buying a new sump pump, which she didn't do, resulting in a basement flood, and destroying a lot of my old art work. Biggest success: she is now my ex-wife.
  21. I don’t see how it would be physically harmful, but it would add a layer of material between the art and the viewer of the art. It might also slide around a little in the top loader after framing, and tilt.
  22. OA sales can add up, particularly when considering what a publisher pays (and which I realize varies). Some artists also mix it up and only use the traditional approach on splashes and other interesting pages while going digital on the others. That maximizes their return.
  23. Those nice little Itoya’s are not archive quality storage no matter what the size. I have been moving my pieces into top loaders, and then placing the top loaders into larger Itoya’s. The smaller ones go into the 11 x 17 Itoya’s, in small top loaders, along with cheaper pieces (I also do need to buy some more folios and top loaders).
