...plus some corner damage = 8.5

I like this at 9.6. Can't see too much wrong with it. Wondering if anyone will go in at 9.8 with the one spine tick I noticed.

Yeah, I like 9.2 as well.

I don't see anything wrong...no spine ticks...clean edges. Blunted corner lower left? Only worried about what I can't see. But, if it's perfect in hand, I gotta' go 9.8. If there's a blunted corner lower left...9.6.

Nice corners and edges on this one. Book could use a good cleaning and press. However, the way it sits I can't go any higher than 6.5. Sorry, not a lot of experience grading a book like this but I thought I'd stick my neck out to see what other people think. Could be way out on this because it doesn't have most of the defects associated with a 6.5..just bothered by the soiling and discoloration.

6.0 due mostly to the spine ticks.

There is an accumulation of small almost insignificant defects...but they are there. I'm going in at 8.0/8.5. Knocking it down just a bit due to the foxing. Foxing is allowed on a 9.4 as far as CGC is concerned, so I feel pretty comfortable at 8.5...regardless of the amount of foxing. Lots to like as far as the corners, edges and gloss.

Moon Knight 1 in 9.8 is listed at a little over $600.00 on gocollect, but one just recently sold for $805 on e-bay.

All I know is if you do a professional restoration on a comic which would include pieces added, re-glossing et all, you would have a comic that although looks VF, you could expect to get VG overstreet guide (or if it's more current) whatever gocollect is currently saying a VG sells for. I've personally experienced this with a restored FF 1 I own, as I've been watching what similarly restored 1's go for. I'm thinking the best way to figure this out for yourself, is to simply watch what happens when an Amazing Spiderman 1 goes up for sale. Certainly there are other angles you need to consider, and maybe some other boarders can come up with their thoughts and experiences.

Okay, I'll settle for...."so there's a chance". Until then I'll treat them as 9.8's and if and when I'm ever interested in selling them I'll get them graded an hope for the best. I did google CGC 9.8 pictures and looked at about a dozen of them. None had a spine tick...so it doesn't bode well. Thanks everyone for your advice.

The CDC recommends that you spray for ticks. Problem gone.
FIXED IT!

Listened to a youtube video about this exact thing. He said if you run your fingers along the edge of the comic and it's rough, good chance your feeling dried glue.

To those of you who know, I saw a CGC 9.6 X-Men on e-bay with a spine tick and a blunted corner upper right. One of the books a have has a small stress line at the lower staple and the other a very small spine tik along the spine. But, the rest of both books are immaculate...no damaged edges and 4 sharp corners. The overstreet grading guide says no spine ticks allowed on 9.8's. What are my chances of getting a 9.8 on either book. I guess I need to know how strict CGC is on the no spine tick rule. Naturally I'm interested because of the huge difference in what they would be worth.

If you press it, I can see this becoming a 9.6.

I'm going to stick my neck out at 9.6 after the clean and press. Can't wait to see what it comes back at. Good luck...very nice.
