  1. Hard to get over how sharp looking and cheap that ASM was.You sure got a deal on that one. Here's a book I've looked for for ages...I haven't actually received it yet but I'm WAY too impatient to wait on posting it.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  2. I stayed up WAY past my bedtime and STILL got outbid on the Weist Phantom Stranger run ( 2-6).Que sera' sera'....I've been outbid more often than not...but then,lo and behold,to what do my wandering eyes perceive...but a mid grade copy of Menace # 1 with a buy it now on eBay.I don't have it yet but I was too excited to wait on posting. The writing that is on the back cover is probably what put it in my realm of possibility.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  3. WHOA.....I'm dumbfounded. That Superboy 89 is stunning.Looks unread...any background on these books? GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  4. Here's a cool item I just got...Ghostly Weird Tales # 120.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  5. New from Abracadabra...IM 128.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  6. KUDOS to Abracadabra for hooking me up with Iron Man 123-128...alcoholism storyline. The VG's look like Fines and the VF/NM's look like 9.2's.Highly reccommended.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  7. So true....depending on scarcity in grade and the general state of the market,GPA high can just be another point on an upward trend.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Hey I agree too, but like i said it is just a guide as OSPG is. It provides valuable info that sometimes OSPG does not take into account. R. ....and in many cases info that OSPG doesn't even know about.I love the GPA feature on the Heritage site.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  8. So true....depending on scarcity in grade and the general state of the market,GPA high can just be another point on an upward trend.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  9. Man does that 56 bring back memories. That's the first Avengers that I ever bought off the stands. That # 9 is a real nice copy....it wouldn't happen to be one of Blazing Bob's world famous 8.5's would it ? GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u p.s. He's got a nice Avengers 3 in 8.0 on his site...looks to be a very recent pickup
  10. Just got this .GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  11. No grey tone thread is complete without this one...and I'm sure someone has already posted it,but here goes.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  12. Would help if I learned to read No....the cover and first two wraps would STILL be detached .GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  13. The 8.5 GR FF 45 that Brad outbid me on eBAY a couple years ago had the stamp in the same spot. That and the lack of tanning and the puffiness of the spine make it a prime candidate for a GREEN RIVER.....GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u p.s. The Green River collection was introduced in the early 90's by John Hauser.
  14. That date stamp looks an awful lot like the one appearing on Green River pedigree books. We all know one GR copy of this ish sold recently for over $3K, and there are often multiple copies of certain issues in the collection. Calling our resident GR expert Red Hook.... oh yeah, the mods..... well, I'm sure glad the boards are now safe for all of us to talk up comics... Good eye....I think Brad said there were like 8 copies of the FF 45 in the GR collection.Very possible.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  15. ...GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  16. OOOPS.I meant to reference comicdey's copy.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  17. I always thought this one was WAY underpriced in the guide.A recent 9.2 sale at 14k seems to illustrate that. 9.2's have been turning over at 5 times guide for a while now.It would be difficult to find an 8.5 for 9.2 guide. It should be at least on equal footing with the # 11.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u A reason to post mine again...love that book NICE COLOR.That cover is so sharp when the color is all there. It's in my top 3 of the early issues...with 5 and16 being the others.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  18. Welcome to ZombieVille (pop. 11060).I guess it was a FF 35 my Mom brought home from a school bazarre that sent me over the edge.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  19. KNOCKOUT copy, Wow! I am jealous... I work night shift and apparently this book was listed late Friday night and when I got home early Saturday morning it was still available with BIN.Someone had already put one bid on it but with those white pages what's a B.I.N. Boy to do ?It wasn't cheap but that one is tough in grade.I doubt it would have been there past noon....I got lucky.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  20. That OA is SHARP.Who is the artist...it has that crusty bunkers inking style. Here's a new one on it's way from COMGEEK.O ne of my fvorite covers.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  21. That's an EXCELLENT suggestion.and since no excellent suggestion should pass without an appropriate comment....All violators will be shot in the kneecap on their first offense. All second offenders will be encased in a full body slab and displayed at CGC headquarters.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  22. Having a few different threads might be manageable if self-bumping (no pun intended) was limited to new additions, price reductions and replies.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a riend of jesus) (thumbs u
  23. I just listed a couple of OAAW in the forum marketplace if you guys know any one who might be interested.I also saw a decent VG+ oaaw 83 on www.highgradecomics.com if you don't mind a fair amount of distributor overspray.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
  24. 100% agreement If you are listing thousand dollar or exceptionally HG books then perhaps a separate thread is justified form the one your listing your Nova run in would be acceptable. Other then that it's just an excuse to take up promo real estate. Absolutely agree...I'd suggest starting no more than one per day, but 2 would be acceptable, NOT that you can't have a reason (whatever it is) for separate threads, but you should space them. I'd like seeing a limit to 2 or 3 a week. If you start posting 3-4 threads a day and have that in the rules, it would actually allow someone to have 28 threads running in a week. I'm not sure anyone wants to see this place look like ebay during a sale week. I've actually had threads bumped up that were a week old...(and not by me) it could really get messy with more and think of all the room for trolling. I am looking at this as a buyer OR a seller... Different forums for different ages would be nice.I post books in several categories and am trying to use only one thread..."ECCLECTIC BATCH OF GOODIES" which doesn't do much for specifics. One new feature I would like to see would be the ability to add a dated tag to the title when new additions are listed.I know I'll never have the rep some of these others have because I simply don't have the inventory, and it's the little guys like me who might benefit if someone could quickly differentiate between a post to old material and that of new additions. Are we allowed to have 3 threads...ecclectic GA....ecclectic SA, and ecclectic CGC for example?GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u (thumbs u
  25. Many KUDOS to: djpinkpanther67 blue08 burntboy r1970d stronguy mcmiles nik catman namisgr blazingbob metropolisent blbcomics board members who all helped take the agony out of collecting.GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u
