  1. Norinn, Not on this computer. Here's a Williamsort Batman I kept though. Highest graded. Jack
  2. Great set of books, Jack. I would love to have seen those together -- must have been quite a sight! Here's what some Superman looked like when I first took them out of the bag. It was actually quite confusing. The earlier issues were lower grade in a lot of cases. So, if you were trying to figure what they were worth, it was very tricky. Those early issues was where the money was. It was a shoot. From #50 on, I couldn't help but notice they looked unread. But they weren't the expensive books as they are fairly low in the guide. Boy, did I agonize over it. At the time I paid 80% of guide on top of it. They actually wanted more. The books were in old comic bags which had started to yellow so they really weren't very pretty at the time. I will remember that sinking feeling I had inside that I was gambling my family's future away. I'll keep that with me for the rest of my life. I had never taken a chance like that before. To that extent anyway. I just got lucky. Jack
  3. Another nice Williamsport. Superman wondering where the Detective 27 went. Jack I am looking for James Bama and Bob Larkin Doc Savage Paintings if anyone has any or knows where one is. I'd even trade COMICS. Please don't tell my wife though.
  4. Ironically, there were only a handful of Action and Detective. There is some speculation that some were sold years ago by the original owner as inside a Gerber Photo Journal he had a list of comics which included Detective 27. When I was a television Sports Photographer I used to go to Williamsport all the time to shoot minor league baseball games. Of course, I would always arrange my time so I could stop at a comic shop or two. One year, a guy told me someone offered him a Detective 27 which looked Fine for 6,700. This was the 1980's mind you. The Comic Shop guy said, "No, that's too much." He never saw the guy again. So who knows (The Shadow?) whether there was another part which was sold off. I found it peculiar that Detective 27 was written in the book. Maybe it was just a coincidence. They are long gone either way. Jack I forget what number this graded. Love the cover. I hope you enjoyed the story. My wife IS a Saint. "Oh honey, I spent our retirement savings on Funny Books today. "WHAT?" "Don't worry Dear, it will all work out." At the time it was quite a frustrating decision to spend all that money. I had never done anything like that before. Of that magnitude anyway.
  5. Williamsport Superman 76. Not 9.0 but a darn nice copy. Have a great day everyone. Jack Juka
  6. Hopefully, this won't disrupt the continuity of the thread. This is one of a dozen or so Batman I kept from Williamsport. One of favorite covers. What colors. OK, I'll find one more Superman to get back on track. Pretend this never happened. Jack
  7. Thanks. My wife says I should keep everything I have left. That was very unusual for her I thought. Probably good advice though. I hated to give up the Batman run, I got some of my money back and managed to keep a few issues I liked such as the #59 in 9.4 and the #92 CGC 9.0 double cover. With two kids in college, something had to go. Heritage did a nice job with them. Here's another from the Williamsport find. Jack
  8. One of over 20 Superman comics from the Williamsport collection in 9.0 or better I kept for myself. Jack
  9. I always liked this cover. Best copy graded so far. Jack
  10. Hi guys. Thanks for the kind words. I sold the Batman run minus a dozen or so issues I wanted to keep for myself. Heritage did a nice job with them and overall I was very happy. As far as Superman, I kept most issues up to #100 except for low grade ones which I let go. Most of the run is still intact luckily. I felt bad enough parting with Batman. I just couldn't afford to keep everything with two kids in college. Jack
  11. Williamsport Superman 100. Still highest graded copy. Jack
  12. One of several copies from the Williamsport collection in the May 23-24 Heritage auction. Other is Crime SuspenStories 14 CGC 8.0 and Marvel Tales 107 CGC 7.5
  13. I've had this for several years. My favorite cover possibly. Jack
  14. Another dandy. The scratch by his arm must be from my high quality (only joking) inexpensive ten year old scanner.
