  1. It is pretty amazing that there were so many high grade copies in the Wiliamsport Superman and Batman runs. If CGC designs a holder for books with an overhang I have more in this type condition. They were all mostly from #50-120 although there was a Superman #31 which was highest also. Jack
  2. Nice cover. I have to scan a few books today anyway so I will post some for you guys to enjoy.
  3. One of 43 Highest Graded copies of Superman and Batman comics to come out of the Williamsport, Pennsylvania Collection.

  6. [ I really love the Detectives! Keep posting them please I really haven't scanned all that many to be perfectly honest. I'm just having fun with what I scanned two years ago.
  7. This one sold a few months ago. Beat all the Gaines File Copies too.
  8. cool...I guess the bigger question is, it was my understanding you bought this collection to resell, correct?...if so, when might you begin to offer? rick That is incorrect. I didn't buy it to sell. I bought it to have a nice golden age collection. I had sold off a great collection my Father bought me in 1968 when I was 12 years old. I found the collection. He paid for it. Runs of superman abd Batman, All Star, you name it and it was un there. No Superman #1 or Batman #1 though. Thet all seemed to start at issue 3. When I was in college, (like a dope,) I sold many of the books and traded a lot away for EC comics. My Dad eventually got Alzheimer Disease. One day when he was in the later stages of his illness, we were in my car traveling to a football game which I was scheduled to shoot. At that point he was already pretty much unable to talk. He looked at me and clear as day asked, "Do you still have those comics I bought you?". I didn't have the heart to tell him that they were long gone. That day will stick in my head forever. Buying The Williamsport collection was a tribute to the faith he had in me as a kid. That's the truth. Back to your question though. Some of the books that I wasn't interested in or that were lower to mid grade however, were sold off during the last two years. The bulk of the collection I still have left including my runs of Superman and Batman. In there, I have at least 500 CGC graded copies and most of the other comics which were 7.0 or better or had an overhang which prohibited CGC from slabbing them. If someone really wants something they are certainly welcome to make me an offer. Some books I could freely part with. The others, like Superman and Batman may stay in my collection. I may do something with Supe's and Bat's from #101 up. In that area I still have 15 or so of the best graded copies. I haven't quite yet decided what type of venue I will use to do that. I didn't really buy them to sell in all honesty. I just really wanted a nice collection. Unfortunately, you can't keep EVERYTHING. Plus, I spent our retirement on the books so my wife will have my head if I don't at least get that portion back someday. I hope that answers your question. Jack
