  2. There must have been some unpaid bids on the "high" bids for the Cerebus 9.8 books awhile back. Almost immediately after, the same graded books sold for significantly less.
  3. Indeed. $1,200 would have easily gotten you a CGC 7.5 - 8.0 not so long ago.
  4. Like all cons, he even attempted to explain his feedback history:
  5. I too never got any response for additional photos of the slabbed Action Comics #1. FloppyB has more than enough information from inquiries to pull this book if it was authentic, but this guy is a fraud.
  6. Nice work. The cover writings and stains match the Neatstuff auction perfectly. I also messaged this guy and he said he inherited this from his grandfather who "died several years ago." That is an absolute lie, so everything else can expected to be a lie.
  7. When Neil Gaiman lists you as a grail, I don't think you can count Cerebus out.
  8. I see many of these books have been relisted or someone else is looking to unload some high grade Cerebus issues.
  9. I don't think they will be published until the end of the year or early next year.
  10. There was a fairly recent Kickstarter that raised over $45,000 to reprint Cerebus #1 and other perks. There must still be some fans out there.
  11. Cerebus #1 heralded the independent publisher and a 300-issue series unlike any other. Good luck finding a high grade copy from this measly low print run of 2,000. $$$
  12. 7.0 binding/manufacturing defects mainly.
  13. Very interesting. Part of the forthcoming dubaicollection.com which appears to be an extremely high end set of collectibles.
  14. According to another thread and Kevin Boyd, he said Sim told him the tale of the 400 damaged #1 issues was untrue. "Dave said he has no idea where the 400 damaged copy rumour began, but it isn't true (as far as he knows). There is the possibility that Harry Kremer may have received 400 damaged copies, or they were damaged at his store at a later date (if so Harry didn't tell him)."
  15. We know Sim kept 10 file copies and Deni got 10 in their divorce. Do we know if Deni has graded or parted ways with any of her copies?
  16. Great research Rosland. If the 9.6 isn't a Signature Series resubmission, then it's looking more and more like an error. To have a 9.6 come out of the wild AND get signed by Sim, all in the past few months is highly doubtful.
  17. I purchased through Heritage Auctions.
  18. Thank you. I do like buying undervalued and high grade early Cerebus issues. For CGC resubmissions, a Sim file copy cannot remain a Sim file copy unless it is still in the slab. If it remains in the slab, then the old label SHOULD be removed from the census. There has been no change to the census for 9.4 Sim file copies or ANY copy of a Cerebus #1 graded 9.0 or higher. This leads me to believe the recent 9.6 was not a resubmission.
  19. This is not the answer. I bought the 9.4 file copy in September and have not resubmitted it. If someone did resubmit a signed Sim file copy to CGC, it would have to remain in the slab and then the old label would certainly be removed from the census. Prior to the CGC 9.6 appearing in the census, there were 19 CGC copies of Cerebus #1 in 9.0 or better. This has not changed, so it appears the improbable CGC 9.6 copy came from the wild.
  20. It's widely quoted that hundreds of books from the 2,000 print run on Cerebus #1 were poorly printed, so this further adds to the difficulty of obtaining a high grade copy. Cerebus will likely never be as popular as Wolverine (Hulk #181), but as far as scarcity, there can't be more than two dozen Cerebus #1 books in near mint condition.
  21. I also find it very improbable a 9.6 exists and just surfaced now. Someone in contact with Sim should ask if he signed a virtually flawless copy in the past few months.
