  1. You and me both. I honestly thought that 10k was an aggressive bid. Way wrong.
  2. Amazing cover, insanely tough book in a great run, but by all metrics this price is high. But as they always say, only takes two committed bidders.
  3. Damn. Somehow I missed this. That’s a great cover and hardly ever see this book.
  4. You just don't see the book up for sale often and a great cover. This price is less than what I think its worth actually.
  5. I gotta say, that 7.5 grade is extremely generous there is a lot of very visible chipping in that book. (edit- from previous posts looks like CT removal - even worse!)
  6. I guess I’d consider myself and “old school” collector but I certainly wouldn’t call myself risk averse (although at times I wish I had been more so) and I typically won’t put a cap on a book that I’m really after. Based on some bidding competitions I’ve been involved in, I definitely ain’t the only one. and please do tell about those crypto kiddies voluntarily throwing crazy bids around. I have some books I’d love for them to bid on
  7. More Fun 60 such a great cover and Spectre covers undervalued. Poor guy gets no love. Needs a movie I guess.
  8. I think adding an extended bidding feature as well as a more frequently listed time pay option would help.
  9. I really can't pick a favorite Fox cover but this is certainly high on the list.
  10. Ya they seem to do well with low to mid priced Golden Age books and not blue chip. That's unfortunate because having three equally competing auction houses is important for the health of the hobby IMHO.
  11. If you find one that refunds money let me know and Ill propose to her.
  12. Not that it was ever easy to score Hitler covers but the hammer price on this Catman 20 is insane. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/superhero/cat-man-comics-20-davis-crippen-d-copy-pedigree-continental-1943-cgc-gd-25-off-white-pages/a/122208-15239.s?ic2=mybidspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyBids-101116
  13. Most money I've ever "came into" she cost me $500 for an hour and lasted 7 minutes.
  14. I bid on this book and walked away because the price just got insane. Someone was clearly after rare and esoteric GA books this auction and although books like this were never cheap, they were never this absurdly priced. Super cool cover and I love the Prize run up to issue 26. Every one hard to find and they've gotten even harder to own.
  15. I figured it out. you need to go to the VERY small link at the bottom for resolution center. Once there its easy and got a very nice rep on the phone in 2 minutes.
  16. He cancelled the transaction and I am not allowed to leave feedback now for some odd reason. Ebay does not make this easy (sort of like trying to give an uber driver a bad rating at one time).
  17. Thanks for the advice (and amazing detective work)! I suppose its enough to warn others not to do business with shady characters. Ebay frankly should be more proactive about reprimanding sellers that do this.
  18. Hi All Is anyone familiar with Ebay seller RB3Comics? I bid on a Beware 10 3.0 and hammered at a decent price. Seller cancelled transaction just 3 days after I purchased the book (I was out of town but that's a short time frame to cancel). My guess is he didn't like the hammer price so reneged. First time that's happened to me in 15 years of Ebay buying. Anyone have any experience with this seller? Are Ebay sellers just arbitrarily allowed to cancel if they don't like the price the book sold for? Not happy about it.
  19. Here's another tough one with a very cool cover. Starling 19 only 7 in census
  20. One of my favorite threads. For me the most enjoyable aspect of GA collecting is the hunt for the very elusive. Of all the books in my 15+ years of collecting, this was by far the hardest to track down. This came up at the Jon Berk auction and I couldn't believe my eyes. Only reason that I tracked this book (the cover is fairly vanilla) is that I was attempting to put together a Speed run and this was the final hold out. Only 3 on the census and I'd love to see the others.
