  1. CGC Members, I want to share some exciting news with you. This past week, Valiant Entertainment Inc. officially announced a partnership with Key Collector Comics mobile app. You can read the article by clicking here ===> Valiant Announcement Summary: As Valiant continues to be recognized as a reliable and dynamic storyteller in the comic book industry, new and loyal fans have expressed interest in the key issues that has shaped the publisher's history since 1990. Key Collector Comics provides a resource to interested collectors who wish to discover Valiant character 1st appearances, origins, critical storylines and some of the rarest variants in the history of modern comics. Over 120 issues can be identified instantly from the search screen of the app where a proprietary "Valiant Key Issues" button launches the user directly into the publisher's universe. From there, collectors can catalog the comic books they own with one tap (grading is optional) or build a wish list with similar ease. Upon identifying a key issue while at an LCS or at a convention, Key Collector Comics users can reference a simplified price guide that establishes market value parameters. To discover over 7,000 key issues from hundreds of other publishers outside of the Valiant Universe, fans can use 3 options: 1. Search by Title 2. Search by Character 3. Browse by Category all accessible on the initial search screen with the Valiant Key Issues button. 2. Sounds accurate. That's really good info. Thank you
  3. What about animal fables #7. I've found that it tells her origin?
  4. I went to the boards because of all the conflicting info. Thanks for checking on this though.
  5. Does anyone know the first and early appearances (2nd and 3rd) or Moon Girl Clare Lune? Thanks!
  6. Hey Everyone I’m giving away a copy of New Mutants #87 1st appearance of Cable on Sunday 11/26. I’ll also be giving away some other key issues to whoever gives the quickest answers to some trivia questions. This all happens on Facebook live at 9:30p CST. Enter to win New Mutants #87 on the Key Collector Comics page: https://facebook.com/keycollector/ Good luck!
  7. Sorry. Got confused. Ugh. I’m new to forums in general.
  8. 162 out of 170 posts we’re the thread I started about the app or this thread you’re AGAIN participating in about the app. I made each comic age aware of it ONCE because i don’t know if those collectors go outside of their category. And posted a few times in general and haven’t done it since you started complaining. If you weren’t policing the boards you wouldn’t have even noticed. So you answered my post with a link...then immediately report the post and write “reported”. Very vindictive. Yet once again you contradict yourself. Here you’re suggesting I talk about something besides the app. And when I actually did...you reported me! Try to bring a little logic or consistency to these discussions. Or maybe change your name to Whine Collector.
  9. Let me know what you think too, please. Hahaa! That was good!
  10. I think everyone should take a lesson from you on how to craft a relevant statement.
  11. Invading. OUR. Hobby. I think some collectors are taking ownership of something they have no right to lay claim to. They’re not speculators. They’re people who are new to the hobby because the companies you support are creating content that is attracting them. The industry went from $700M to over $1B in a 5 year span. That encompasses newly printed material and downloads so obviously there are a lot of new readers. They’re also collectors and like anyone who is upset about this, they want to own the high-demand issues. There are way more winners in this scenario than losers. If you’ve been collecting for a long time then you are sitting on a hefty ROI even if you have no intention of selling.
  12. I absolutely agree. I captured much of what is of value after the Silver age. If you’re talking about some of the golden age and silver age stuff I got a lot of that but don’t want the database to be so dense with issues that are valuable just because they’re old and potentially in high grade condition. So I stuck with books that have certain instances like World War II cover art, 1st and early appearances. Im not sure how you were searching but there are a lot of books in there that don’t have a character assigned yet. And when vetting prices i don’t go buy Overstreet. Thr majority of my research comes from plugging data into eBay, analyzing sold info and manually entering an issue. There is A LOT of pricing out there in different sources that don’t even come close to reality which is why I used eBay as a watermark and supplemented other parts of the database through 30+ resources. You’re right though. The goal is no book left behind and for the first month it seems I’m off to a good start judging by the feedback. I’ve received a lot of key issue submissions through my email and honestlyba majority of what I’ve gotten was already in the database. If you could pass along anything in particular that you noticed missing I’d be truly grateful. Could you PM me anything that sticks out please? Thanks Aman -Nick
  13. That’s so good to hear. Let me know if you notice anything missing and I’ll get it into the database ASAP. I’m glad you’re enjoying it.
  14. If anyone has any marketing or advertising ideas I’d really appreciate the advice. The goal of course is exposure. Please PM me or email me directly through the app. Of course you can reply on the thread if you can handle the scrutiny.
  15. That’s an interesting scenario that I hope doesn’t go that far. I launched at the NYCC and fortunately didn’t have that experience. For the most part, there is a lot of encouragement and I’m happy to make adjustments as the collector community continues to provide feedback. Thank you for writing about your experience. It’s definirely an interesting and fun journey to experience the reactions to what I’ve put out there. I hope people realize I’m genuinely trying to contribute in a positive way to the hobby and to these discussions. I think it’s pretty obvious who the instigators are and who is negative out of jealousy or boredom. Again thanks for sharing your story.
  16. Haha. There are certainly some interesting dynamics that occur on the CGC boards.
  17. I think that’ll be my next stop! Kidding. Thanks for the heads up
  18. And that's exactly what I hoped for by presenting it to the boards...seriously...like "hey you're missing this or that." That's why its designed so I can make immediate changes. High five!
  19. No it was pretty much exactly that but it was not for disingenuous SELF promotion. It was genuine app promotion. I felt it was overt enough to be transparent. Seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves though.
  20. That's what I'm saying...but hey, if it was found/purchased before you got there...how could you get upset? Haha... I know what you were saying was rhetorical. We all have the same fears. With the comprehensiveness of the data which is added to every week...you're going to find stuff you wouldn't normally find. I can tell you stories my friend....many tales. Wisconsin isn't far from Canada. Let's go ice fishing. By the way if you notice any missing keys please let me know. That goes for everyone. I always authenticate submissions and get them in usually 24 hours
