Any bets that this will be the first of many to come as this will be perfect promotion and timing for CGC's introduction of their CGC 9.9 pre-screen program as per Matt's interview a few months ago just before they got side-tracked with the whole ASM 252 holder scandal. hm

I never heard about it before he was doing the interview about exactly the ASM 252 scandal in January.

Again you need proof to file criminal charges against some for fraud. If I do that on my own those scammers would sue me for defamation if I lose, why waste my time when cgc will do it for me.

It's causing me physical pain to read some of the nonsense being directed to you as advice here.

My only advice, like Comicwiz said,  if you haven't already, is make the FTC complaint.

The complaint website looks very easy to navigate through.

  3. Coming up on 3 months since employees, or former employees of, along with the connection to comic book station, were outed here.

Not one word in this thread from one person, of ever doing business with Tommy Chabrowski, or even personally knowing him.

I do see that Vince Zurzolo recently commented "Ha" to one of Tommy's posts on facebook.

It's the one of a photo of NY traffic, not one of Tommy's multiple travel excursions.

    "Ha", indeed.

Yes, PovertyRow, I suppose I'm referring to a leaf as per your definition.  But CGC refers to it as a "page" although of course it is really 2 pages (one on the front side and one on the back side).  And this is different than a "wrap" which is 2 pages (really 4 pages) connected together.

Exactly. Take ASM 3 as an example.

The pin up is often missing, and this is designated on the label as missing page 12, of the 16 "pages" in the book.

If the entire wrap is missing, "pages"  5 and 12, it would note 5th wrap. Pages 8 and 9 are the center wrap.

CGC never uses the word 'leaf".

George at GPA was nice enough to send me a message.

At least two of the sales appear to be in the seller reported as sold, relisted the book section at the bottom on the daredevil 1 GPA page.

It doesn't note the cert #, but it does say Yellow 5.0, and the prices match.

going down that rabbit hole, doing a search for the cert number also pulled up a hip comic sale of the book from a seller possibly out of Astoria NY in 2021, so maybe they were the seller in one of the ebay sales in 2021.

Damn. I could probably walk from Astoria to Kew Gardens in about 4 hours.

How about this one... "Hey Stan, please sign right on the black area where nobody will be able to see it!"...

I wonder if that's another appearance of comic book station's legendary "silver back cover stan signing pen".

    hm

  8. One of the books listed now on ebay is a 5.0, yellow label, Daredevil #1 graded in 2011.

There is no sales history on GPA of any yellow or blue "Stan written on front cover" sales in that grade range.

There is only one sale, of a blue label 5.0, called out on CGC as "signed by stan lee", and sold in 2006.

That certification is now pulled from CGC's search function.

My point was to illustrate to many that NY is a BIG state, and this is not really a Sunday drive type location from where the perpetrators are located.

My point didn't have anything to do with driveability.

I didn't think that I needed to explain it, but I'm sure all kind of arrangements and relationships are formed at at NYCC, and when somebody owns a pressing service.

Scamboy also filed as a corporation in Virginia, so if I come across an odd ebay listing from a seller 150 miles away in VA, I may mention that as well.

  10. The actual signatures by Stan on all of these caught my attention as well.

The small size of two of them, done in 2011 and 2018, and this one on the Night Nurse, strike me as odd, but I'm no expert.

Would Stan's have looked this weird, in 2015?

You can also get a sense of an EBAY seller's typical inventory by what they have successfully sold... when they show no high valued comics having been historically sold, at the same moment that they are selling a bunch of high value comics, a little more care and due diligence is well advised!

Nice catch. (worship)   Their sales history since early December, makes these books a far outlier.

It sure does look to me like somebody decided to try to sell these off, for whatever reason, in the current climate.

Whether it's their knowledge of, or only fear of, what they might be. hm

I guess it's feasible as a coincidence that an ebay seller in Tonawanda, New York is selling about 8 yellow label reholdered keys right now.

    hm

    FF 1, ASM 1, Daredevil 1, Avengers 1, TOS 38, ST 101, Hulk 181. etc.

I guess there could be some type of connection, but Tonawanda is a looooooonnnnngggg way from NYC.

What difference does it make how far away it is?
The timing of this dump of reholdered books smells very bad to me, and CGC refuses to acknowledge if scamboy ever submitted these comics.

I have no idea if there is a personal connection to this seller, but how hard would it be to get someone in Tonawanda NY to consign the books?
Harder than getting Comiclink to do it for you?
Somebody in California, that you had a relationship with in NJ for 20 years before the :censored: hit the fan?

Just a reminder that CGC refuses to help collectors that want to know if scamboy ever touched a comic.

Maybe there are dozens of scamboys. That would explain it, I guess.
