  1. Well, for some reason the scans display low-res. The original scans are high-res scans though. If anyone wants the high-res originals, I can email them to you.
  2. Someone requested scans of the Hulk #181, GSX #1, and ASM #300, so I figured I may as well post them here!
  3. I've got a 7,000+ collection for sale that includes Hulk #181, ASM #121 (two copies), #129, #300, Giant-Size X-Men #1, New Mutants #87, #98, and much more.
  4. Hello! I am selling a mixed-age comic collection that by my count, comprises 7,123 books. The collection is mostly 1970's-1980's. There is quite a bit of early 1990's as well, and a small number of books from the 1960's. There's full, or nearly full runs of Uncanny X-Men from #95-355, Amazing Spider-Man from #63-398, Daredevil #97-375, Conan the Barbarian from #1-130, and some other thick runs. It is primarily a Marvel collection, but there are some DC and other publishers represented. I have gone through the collection in detail and pressed the books that I thought were most worthwhile to press with the notion of them being sent to CGC. I have evaluated them and assigned my own grade. There are a significant number of other "borderline" books that I haven't pressed, but might be worth pressing. None have been submitted to CGC. I've included some basic photos of what I consider to be the higher dollar and higher demand books. As well, I've included my grades. I haven't scanned any books yet, but I can do so. I can send the full collection list to anyone who's interested! For the 7,123 book collection, I am asking $15,000. My credentials: I am the co-owner and co-founder of Imaginarium LLC; we own and operate Tampa Bay Comic Con, Indiana Comic Con, San Francisco Comic Con, Atlanta Comic Con, and Michigan Comic Con. Years ago, before I ran conventions I was a comic book dealer selling primarily super high-grade CGC graded vintage books. My ebay name is: American Comics and Collectibles (I haven't sold anything in years though). I don't sell comics as a dealer anymore, but still commercially press comics for select clients as I don't have time to have multiple clients. I still have my old pressing website active (I have been pressing since 2007): http://www.comicpressing.com/
  5. The show is going great! We didn't really know what to expect (as we never know with a brand new show), but are pleasantly surprised.
  6. How do I do that? Who do I have to email to make that happen?
  7. Well, that's certainly not true. At least not absolutely. If you can say that, you should also say that those who lose the most money are the promoters as they have the most on the line should the event fail. Look at the difficulties Wizard World has had over the last few years. They have lost far more than they have made in that period of time. And they are just the easy example because they are the highest profile that has been at a major financial loss. They aren't the only ones though. There are constantly shows of varying sizes popping up around the country. Some succeed, many don't--as with most businesses in any industry. Us staying in the black is of course an important metric, but it is not the only metric. Financial success or failure for exhibitors, artist alley, and guest artists is a metric of great importance to us.
  8. I didn't take any offense. Last year's Friday weapon's check and bag check really bogged down the entire line so that it ran the length of the entire building, even though most people didn't have anything that needed checking. We fixed that major problem. Also, we queued attendees inside the building prior to the show starting, so the line wasn't stuck outside in the heat (this procedure came into effect last year as well though). Too bad you didn't find a book to buy though. New Force had an awesome array of books. I haven't been a big buyer or box digger for years, so I am more out of touch with the market, but I am in touch enough to know where prices have gone lately for the key superhero stuff (sky high). I reckon people keep paying the rising price.
  9. I have no idea how you arrived at that observation as it was the complete opposite in reality. Perhaps we were processing attendees at box office more efficiently/faster than we have before, so the lack of waiting in a mammoth line made it seem like a smaller attendance. Other than that, I don't know. We didn't know what to expect as 2017 attendance dipped when compared to 2016. Thankfully, all is well from our end. Friday attendance was excellent--we are actually very happy with the attendance this year overall. Tampa Bay Comic Con 2018 was the second highest attended Tampa Bay Comic Con of all-time. Tampa Bay Comic Con 2016 holds the attendance record. Attendance dipped some in 2017 (third highest attendance). Attendance this year was up from 2017, putting it in-between 2016 and 2017 attendance.
  10. Fabian Nicieza and Scott Lobdell added recently! They basically wrote the entire X-Men world of the 90's. Also, the Secret Wars artist team: Mike Zeck, John Beatty, and Bob Layton. Additionally, the legendary Neal Adams.
  11. We had a great show! Thanks to everyone that was there to support the debut!
  12. San Francisco Comic Con is THIS WEEKEND! Unfortunately, Adam Hughes had to cancel last minute. BUT we were able to add two greats last minute: Ron Lim and David Mack!
  13. Moscone Center would not allow us to return. They do not want consumer events in the building; only trade shows.
  14. Recently announced creator guests include: Gerry Conway, Adam Hughes, Chad Hardin, Ale Garza, Paolo Rivera, Ty Templeton, and Ursula Decay. Recently announced celeb guests include: Kevin Conroy, Rodger Bumpass, and Nolan North.
  15. Indiana Comic Con 2018 is just over one month away! Check out the full guest list and programming schedule at: https://indianacomiccon.com/
  16. More guest creators and celebs added to the roster of the upcoming Atlanta Comic Con. Recently added guest creators include: Chad Hardin, Bob Camp, Robin Eisenberg, and Ty Templeton. https://atlantacomiccon.com/
  17. Recently added: Celebrity guests: Kevin Conroy Creator guests: Bob Layton Michael Golden
  18. Comparing our convention to the 1-day Atlanta Comic Convention doesn't make sense. They are two very different conventions. Sure, our Atlanta Comic Con features comic dealers, but also many other aspects of comicdom & pop culture, including numerous guest comic creators, celebrity guests, and a lengthy programming schedule. All of this takes a huge budget, that a $5 admission would not come close to covering. The 1-day Atlanta Comic Convention is highly focused on a particular aspect (which is fantastic!) and doesn't require the budget that we do. There is no right or wrong answer as to which is better; it's all a matter of personal preference/taste. Comparing ticket prices on two polar opposite style conventions seems like an fallacious comparison though.
