  1. 10,000th post right here! What can I say folks? After 10,000 well thought out contributions to the zeitgeist, is there anything left to say? The short answer is, "Yes", but let's beat around the bush to get there in a roundabout sort of way. Once you've contributed to the national conversation with 10,000 nuggets of wisdom, what's next? If you were worried that I'd hang up my keyboard and sail west to the undying lands, you can rest easy knowing that I shall remain here to guide this place to either greatness or into the ground. Your beloved éminence grise is here to stay for another 10,000 posts. With that being said, let the gala festival celebration party shindig begin! Please, no gifts. But if the desire to gift is overwhelming, I will humbly accept. Enjoy the party! Send your congratulations if you're so inclined. I'm getting flooded with congratulations; they've been coming in from friends, family, foreign dignitaries, and celebrities all day!

  6. Here's a few of my illustrations from the last several months. I haven't been drawing much lately. In November, the first illustration was featured in an event at the Orlando Museum of Art.
  7. I nearly made that same decision. Like a martyr, I decided to support the MCU ticket sales. I like what they did with Namor. The mythos was completely different than it is in the comics, which I tend to frown upon. Discounting the distaste of such a huge change in origin, I enjoyed the character's look, attitude, powers, and backstory. While the backstory mythos was completely different, it hit the same notes as the comics with him being a stuck-up grouch, and his hatred of surface dwellers. I'm not a Namor fanboy, so I was able to get past the changes. I've never read a Sub-Mariner book. I only know the character from appearances in other titles, such as Avengers. Someone who is more emotionally connected to the character might not be as accepting.
  8. Yep, that was a common tale. Wasn't that so much freakin' fun? I wonder how many of us have seen any recent MCU films multiple times in theaters. Probably not many. I can't even recall the last MCU installment, I saw more than once. In the early MCU days, I was seeing every movie at midnight. I was in my early and mid-20's from Iron Man to Avengers, so I was one of the people in line with my friends to see all of those formative MCU movies right when they hit theaters. We were counting down the days like a little kid before Christmas or their birthday. I didn't see Black Panther 2 until last weekend, and at that point the movie had been out for just over one month. I miss that level of wild excitement. I long for it. I took it for granted at the time, but that was an amazing time for our hobby and cinema. We're still living in the superhero era, of which there's still much to be thankful for. But it's sad to think that we're on the backend of the era. I hope Disney can find a way to recapture that lightning in a bottle. I just don't know how they'll do it. If Disney brought me in as a consultant and asked me, "How would you recapture that MCU magic?", I suppose I'd suggest Secret Wars, but honestly, I don't even think that would do the trick. I think the culture at-large is in a, "been there, done that" mindset with superheroes at this point.
  9. I thought the movie was decent. I'm glad I watched it. I don't have a desire to see it again. Wakanda Forever was a fine installment to keep the MCU moving along. As far as Disney's grand, overarching plan for the MCU, I just don't know. As a stock holder, it's cause for concern. I can only predict declining returns. The movies will likely remain profitable, in general, for quite some time. The days of the Earth-shattering, mega-blockbusters are likely over for the MCU. There was so much excitement in the early days of the MCU. Remember when the first Avengers movie came out? All the build up there was for that movie. Amazingly, that fever-pitch level of excitement surrounding the first Avengers movie continued to build through the Infinity War movies. They were more than just some movies. It was a cultural thing. Everyone was talking about it, whether they were into this sort of thing or not. At this time, I'm not sensing anything vaguely near that level of interest in the MCU.
  10. I think it's a great page. Would I pay $32.5k for this page? No. But I lose most auctions, so I'm unwilling to pay FMV for most pieces of interest to me in today's market. I'm constantly being surprised by what pieces are getting now. Funny enough, I see it as no surprise that Andru's Spider-Man work fetches this amount. He's one of the top Spider-Man illustrators. Ditko, Romita Sr., and McFarlane are certainly the top three Spider-Man artists. In my opinion, Andru is number four. I'm sure some would argue for any number of other creators such as: Bagley, Larsen, Ramos, Mooney, Kane, or Saviuk. For me, it's easily Andru. Being that among the top three Spider-Man creators, Romita Sr. is the most "affordable", with Spidey costume pieces starting around $20k, it makes sense that an excellent example from Andru would generate the amount that it did.
  11. You've heard of others that have been scammed by Jae Lee?
