  1. FYI - John Romita, Jr. is also listed as a guest for Comic Con Revision in Ontario, Canada scheduled for May 16-17, 2020. Also, he is one of the nicest creators I've ever met and he donates the proceeds from his signings to St. Jude's Children's hospital. The guys is a class act.
  2. The only facilitator that I know of that is going is Desert Wind Comics.
  3. That Billy Ray Cyrus book is hilarious! I just checked the CGC Census and there are three graded/slabbed copies. So there are three people out there in the world that decided that they were going to preserve this gem of a book. Good for them!
  4. Damn!!! That's f- - k ing AWESOME!!!!
  5. JohnnySnyder can correct me if I'm mistaken or I missed anything, but you should bring a window bag for every book you are submitting for the Claremont Signature(s) even if the book is already slabbed. Once CGC cracks it, they will need the bag. Make sure to have your name and CGC account number on the backing board.
  6. I had a similar train of thought. If I legally change my name to Jack Kirby and start signing comic books would CGC witness and mark the books as "Signed by Jack Kirby?"
  7. Any predictions on who will be featured on the Artgerm Variant to the upcoming New Mutants #1 in November?
  8. Just got this back from CGC. This will get a prominent place on my wall.
  9. Generally 9.6 and 9.8 don't get grader notes. I've only gotten grader notes on some 9.4's, but not always. I tend to see grader notes for books that are 9.2 and lower.
  10. Reach out to Torrey from Twin Cities, he's great and easy to work with. sales@twincitiescomics.com
  11. Whenever CGC has private signings with a writer/artist, submissions are made separately from other witnesses signature series submissions, but what is the protocol for cons where CGC has multiple private signings for different writers/artists and someone wants a book signed by two or more writers/artists who each have their own separate signings. For example, if Chris Claremont and Jim Lee each have their own separate CGC private signing and someone has: 1 book to be signed by Claremont only, 1 book to be signed by both Lee and Claremont, and 1 book to be signed by Lee only, would that be two submissions (one for Claremont and one for Lee with the book with BOTH signatures being submitted with either of the other two submissions) or three submissions (one submission for Lee, one submission for Claremont, one submission for both)? Or for the book with both signatures, can you get a CGC witness for Claremont's "public" signing and submit that book for Lee's private signing. Or vice versa.
  12. Just as an FYI. He's also going to be at New York Comic Con as well (according to his twitter account). By the way, I just met him at a signing at Midtown Comics a few weeks back. The proceeds of the signing went to St. Jude's Children's hospital. He couldn't have been nicer. He was genuinely appreciative of the people that waited to meet him and was incredibly gracious and humble. If you are a fan, you should make the effort to meet him. It was one of my better interactions with an artist. Out of curiosity what book are you looking to get signed? I got an extra copy of Superman Year One #2 if you're interested.
  13. The X-Men #1 Artgerm Cover looks fantastic. Can't wait for it to come out!
  14. I believe that CGC has taken the policy that they will always respect the wishes of the artist. They won't grade a book under signature series for an artist/writer who says "No CGC." All of the witnesses that I've worked with make their presence known to the artist/writer and let them know it's for a graded book. They don't generally hang out to the side.
  15. You don't "need" a CGC Subscription, but based on the number of books your looking to get done, it's worth it. A premium level membership comes with a $150 CGC credit so it would essentially pay for itself based on the number of books you're looking at. Getting a witness depends on the when you go. Obviously, on Saturday there are a lot of people so there will likely be a wait. Friday in the middle of the day might be busy, but your best bet is to get there early depending on when your artists are signing. The time issue is based more on the number of artists more than the number of books. If all 15-20 of your books have different artists/writers you want signatures for, then it will be difficult to get that done in one day, but depending on the popularity of the artist/writer you can knock out a good chunk, but keep in mind that some of the more popular artists have one hour waits on line. Also keep in mind that many artists/writers charge a signing fee, sometimes for any signature, sometimes just for books that are being graded. Frank Miller has a particularly high signing fee ($100 per signature). Most range from $10-$30, but guys like Jim Lee and Rob Leifeld are higher. Private signings are announced by CGC right before the con, so you won't know beforehand. You have to separate your books for the private signatures for their own submission. For example, Chris Claremont usually has private signings with CGC so whenever you submit for Chris Claremont they are submitted on a separate order for with separate shipping and order number.
  16. Any facilitators heading to MCM London Comic Con? They announced that George Perez would be there.
  17. I was born in the middle of the Dark Phoenix Saga, so as an X-Men fan, my Birthday issue would have to be those issues. Cover Date would be the First appearance of Dazzler: This is a missing issue from my collection. Actually on the newsstands on the month I was born would be this classic Wolverine issue: I have a CGC 9.6 copy signed by Chris Claremont and it's one of my favorite issues in my collection.
  18. Don't know if anyone else went through this, but after Age of X-Man (which I thought was pretty terrible) I had a bit of cross-over fatigue and had originally planned to sit this one out. After reading fan reactions, I went back and picked up the issues (tracking down House of X #2 was a f***ing odyssey). I agree this has been a cool take on the series and I'm fascinated to see how this leads into the planned relaunch.
  19. It looks like Artgerm is doing a variant cover for the upcoming X-Men #1 in October. I can't wait to see what this will look like.
  20. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is the CGC witness services only for Dennis O'Neil or will they be available for all of the Guests.
  21. He is also going to be at Keystone Comic Con in August and Rhode Island Comic Con in November.
  22. Brittany, Thank you for the quick response. I apologize if I did not understand your response, but does that mean that CGC will be at the George Perez signing starting at 10:00 A.M. or at the convention starting at 2:00 P.M. when the doors open? If CGC will be at the George Perez signing before the convention opens at 2:00 P.M. will CGC hold the signed book(s) until the con opens or seal the book in those tamper proof bags until the con opens?
  23. Will CGC have a specific protocol for signature series witnessing for George Perez for the Friday of Terrificon (Aug. 9, 2019)? Terrificon has announced that the signings will begin before the convention opens at 10:00 A.M. based on scheduled ticketed appointment slots. Will CGC have a witness available starting at 10:00 A.M. even though the convention floor is not yet open? Will only people who get appointments after 2:00 P.M. when the con opens be able to get witnesses for signature series? Is witnesses for George Perez off the table entirely? https://www.terrificon.com/george-perez-appearance-info.html I asked customer service about this, but they did not know the answer to these questions. Any clarification would be helpful, as I have started making my arrangements for Terrificon. Thank you. Mark
