You know, all I would have to do is mention that I have dealt with you, and that you know me. How fast would you deny it? I wouldn't ask that type of sacrifice from you if it were true and certainly wouldn't expect for you to admit it if it was. Understand?

I have no idea. I've never tried. I have one forum account. The only one I've ever had. I have one ebay account, the same one I've used since soon after ebay began. I don't send messages to myself. So I have no idea if it can be done because I've never tried.

So this bend in the pic is more noticeable on the back cover. It's the top corner, spine side. It does travel through all the pages and is extremely light on the front cover. There is no color break and it's a 9.0 with no other obvious major defects.

I don't want to go through the process if it only gets a bump to 9.2 so tell me what you think, please. Can I possibly get to a 9.4?

 

 

 

IMHO, based on what I can see of the crimp from only one angle, I don't think you're going to get beyond 9.2 with this unless that is the only defect, aside from this defect the rest of the book is unflawed, and the crimp responds well to the press.

+1  Great colors too. Nice cover blacks, which are typically grainy with grayish spotting and streaks. Nice color strike overall really helps the eye appeal.

Close. I've got it at 4.0 purple. Aside from the 5.0 type of wear, that whiteout should be counted as another defect because it hurts the condition rather than helps it.

Why would I do that to myself? Why would I deliberately kill an ebay account I've used since ebay started? For what? Won't change anything.

Do you know that I'm getting CGC forum PMs addressed to "Danny Dupcak" in the title? Can you just imagine what would happen on ebay if I gave my member ID? Ten FUs per hour. If I ever sell anything, people effing around with my auction? People adding me to their blocked bidder lists? Think about it. I'd never be able to use my ebay account again, and why should I give that up to prove what will fall on deaf ears anyway. "Losing battle" was right.

Black it out? And then you know it's me or when sent, how? Once everybody sees it and realizes, "Say wait a second. I can do this too!" we'll be back to other solutions for proof. What is the next major convention and where? That is the only way. And then again, unless I present all my personal photo info, how do we know I didn't send someone in my place? Everybody wants proof so badly, here and now, that you're not all thinking of the only positive way to ID. In person, present photo ID, answer questions, a 3 part ID process. That's the only way. Everything else suggested can be faked, which in your eagerness is being overlooked. Which I might add I do appreciate because of actually trying to allow me to ID.

Why should I lose it? Tell you what. The whole issue is worth it. It's worth defending. Anyone here remember what the general and ebay marketplace were like before CGC opened up? The hobby was stagnant. Some fluidity, but not much. CGC changed this hobby for the better the same way that Babe Ruth saved baseball after the BlackSox scandal. 

Anyone that prospers or benefits in some way from the hobby today should be on their hands and knees thanking CGC and all involved for the incredible marketplace we have for the last 20 years and today, the same way Mrs. Ruth told the Colonel that he should be thanking Babe Ruth for saving baseball. 

Did anyone buying or selling comics in pre-CGC era even think that the marketplace would be where it is today? It would still be the Wild West and doomed to remain that way without CGC. Gratitude is the source of my patience and extended helpfulness and good will here.
