  1. Cream pages or no, that is still a very pretty copy. Much nicer than the one i sold that had white pages. On a different note, i would love to know what Joseph (Red) does for a living so that i can get out of the concrete business. Scott
  2. So, i should not bid on a certain Batman issue due to the fact that Steve has incompetent indivuals working for him? Please elaborate, or i guess i could go to Comics General, but i always feel dirty afterwards. Scott
  3. Hmmm....is this another 9.8 or did Red decide to not send a check? Guess this is your shot again Sterling. Steve has 165 books listed now and i recognize quite a few i wanted that are available again. Is it me or did alot of people bid too high for what their pockets could afford? http://cgi.ebay.com/DON-ROSA-PEDIGREE-Ho...1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. By the way Tim, I like the avatar you are using. It is my favorite Cap Marvel cover. They call it the "impossible cover" in case you did not know, but i am sure you probably do. Scott
  5. That might explain why the 9.4 copy i sold brought only about 60 dollars when i paid almost 130.00 for it the year before, and mine had white pages. Once again i prove my point, at least to myself anyway. Scott
  6. Actually, there's been several BA horror books that have come up in batches...probably from the same collection. I'd be interested in knowing whose books they are....the certification numbers do look like Heritage submitted them though . What other issues are you noticing? There seems to be a lot of HOM200 and 2233 when I'm looking. But of course. It is how my luck runs when it comes to high grade bronze books. I picked up the Rosa 103 and now look, they are coming from everywhere, and 9.6's at that. I am taking a self-imposed bronze horror sabbatical and intend to focus on my Avengers run. Scott
  7. This is one area where I am truly torn on what to think. My last dealing with Doug was very professional, and he supplied me with a book I had been wanting for quite awhile, in the grade that I wanted. This was also my first dealing with him, and I truly looked forward to doing future business with him in that his offerings are top notch. I had even looked at his site the morning of the disclosure and thought the standard expletive when I read the thread. At first I was pretty angry, due to the trust that I feel Doug destroyed with his past clients, and it made me feel that if someone could do that, they might do disreputable things in their current profession. If Doug is truly sorry and wants everyone to know that he is, he needs to come forward and assure people that he is going to operate above board and with the professionalism he has displayed with Pedgree thus far. If he can do this, then he might once again have my business. This is purely an issue of trust for me now, and I will not deal with someone I cannot trust. Scott
  8. http://www.mytrailerpark.com/ You really have a serious hard-on against people from Texas don't you Trojan boy? Yep, we all have sex with our sisters and have a total of three teeth in our head. Honestly, you people from Cal-i-for-ni need to get over your insecurities and realize all of the things that your state has going for it. Mudslides, inpenetrable smog, winning sports teams (Dodgers, Raiders, Kings, 49'ers) OJ Simpson, Watts, cars equipped with special emission systems so that you can drive a mile in 4 hours without killing all the remaining condors, million dollar homes that should cost about 150k in any market that is not in Bizarro world. Want me to go on? I could but i need to go take care of my aunt. She is such a little nympho.
  9. However, Avengers 93 is just classic. Antman going into Vision to try and save him, Adams art, classic! And you know the tables were turned in Avengers 140 when Vision had to do the same thing for Yellowjacket. He had to go into Hank to try and save him. I guess they thought it was only fair to return the favor.
  10. Impact #1 with Krigstein's Master Race. There has never been a more cinematic telling of a story in my opinion. Every frame means something. The story is great, but it is the art that shoots this one out of the stratosphere. This was one of EC's last gasps, and i am not sure if Krigstein would have been allowed by the EC front office and editors to illustrate it the way he did if he wasn't given free rein to use the style he chose. It is an amazing story that everyone should have to read so that they never forget what horror's man is capable of. Scott I have edited this post and added a link that has the story in its entirety. Just click your mouse on the page and it will advance to the next page. Every time i look at it, i think i see something new. http://es.geocities.com/thegweb/berniekrigstein1.html
  11. Hi everyone, don't have scans yet as I have not yet received the books, but picked up Avengers 47 in CGC 9.6 with white pages. It is the Pacific Coast copy with a great Magneto crossover/cover. Also picked up Avengers 71 in CGC 9.4 with offwhite/white pages and is the first Invaders appearance. Lastly, just received my Avengers 128 CGC 9.4 with offwhite/white pages. It is the Winnipeg copy. Switching gears from horror at the moment as it is getting stupid what the high grade books are going for. My Avengers run will start shaping up nicely if i stay focused and just say no to over-priced horror. Thanks for letting me share. Scott
  12. I have to agree with you. The three Adams Deadman issues are some of my favorite Deadman art. Neal packed alot of bang for the buck in the short page alotment he was given. Look at his Deadman in Challengers of the Unknown #74 too. It is another of my favorites. Scott
  13. Your scan looks much nicer. BTW - thanks Arch for cleaning up this thread. BIG !!! I'll post a couple reviews soon. I know his scan looks nicer. I am trying to learn how to use my scanner, so thanks for pointing that out.
  14. Picked up a few lower range books, but high grade copies that will fit in nicely with the amalgam that is my collection. Tor 1 NM Marvel Premiere 30 NM Phantom Stranger 35 NM Phantom Stranger 36 NM Mister Miracle 17 NM Mister Miracle 18 NM Shadow 4 NM Shadow 7 NM Shadow 8 NM Shadow 9 NM Shadow 10 NM Shadow 11 NM All Shadow are the 70's series Avengers 128 CGC 9.4 Winnipeg copy Detective 408 CGC 9.4 White/ Adams cover and art. Challengers of the Unknown 74 NM Adams Deadman From Beyond the Unknown 17 NM- Scott
  15. I too have a CGC 9.6 copy of Forbidden Tales of Dark Mansion #10, and it also says Marvel Comics. I have seen a 9.4 copy on Ebay before that also said Marvel. It is obviously a database problem that they have not corrected, so don't worry about the grade being incorrect, they just simply need to update their database and input the correct manufacturer. Scott
  16. I did not know that......I will look for it right now....thanks for the heads up. That might keep me from looking like a total scan illiterate to everyone here on the boards.
  17. Let's try another one, raw copy this time. Sorry for extending the window guys...i'm trying to get this right so please bear with me....this is all new to me. Scott
  18. Hope this scan works, bear with me.... Sorry for the blurriness, i am getting tutored on what to do....
  19. Are you saying that I should not show the books I own due to the fact that you can look at them on the web site you put a link to? Correct me if I am wrong.
  20. Thank you very much. I will try that when I get home this evening. Thanks for the step by step. Scott
  21. I am trying to put up some of my books using my new scanner and I seem to not be having any luck as I keep having to delete posts. Can anyone shoot me some tips on how I get them to show up in the post? Thanks for bearing with me on this until I figure out what i am doing. I apologize to everyone in advance.
  22. I have probably bought almost a hundred books from Guy, both on and off line. He is a stand up person who grades as reliably as a single person can in my opinion. I have not always agreed with his grades, but for everyone he has overgraded i have one i think he undergraded, so it more than balances out. I will continue to buy from him as long as he is selling, so the deal about shilling has no validity in my opinion. He is one of ebay's best. Scott
  23. Hey Guy, it's Scott. I was wondering if you would show up. Was going to email you the link from work in the morning to let you know you were being talked about here.
