  1. Someone hit "notify moderator" on this post. This post, saying that it's not necessary to post negative things about others. How far down the rabbit hole will we go? Madness.
  2. We could just refer to each person's user name.... Too easy? Two stones. One bird. Done.
  3. Eisner, Foster, Caniff, Cole, Raymond... they had proper artists back in those days. Thank you. I kept wondering if anyone was going mention Alex Raymond, who has to be one of the most influential artists of "Ever...Ever", according to many of the artists making the list. Yes - Raymond and Foster Hal Foster's work is breathtaking.
  4. Insanity. Very, very nice. My jaw dropped.

  6. Dissertation....? That's it!!! You're on the list!!!! I was a charter member of "the list"... I meant mine. Oh well. I'm on a lot of lists around here anyways...

  8. Just remember that the next time you accuse me of being your enemy just because I see Stu differently than you do.
  9. OMG! A voice of reason! I better run and get out of here fast CAL takin' them as fast as he can get 'em... THAT'S what it takes...?? I may have stumbled onto a goldmine!
  10. I saw that, Cal.... Don't be afraid of dissertations. You might learn something.
  11. It is not necessary, or appropriate, to post negative things about others, even in your "explanation" of how you got here. The explanation can be made without mentioning others negatively. It is unnecessary provocation. Cal is correct in that regard.
  12. ? Ya like the Night Flyer, RMA? Yes. Buy, buy, buy. No ulterior motives for miles around. So, I was at the local show a week ago Sunday...and thumbed across this in a dealer's box for $3, NM. I bought it. See how seductive even your own made-up hype can be...? I did not, however, remember to look for the #217.
  13. That is COMPLETELY ridiculous. These books are common as dirt. Sigh. Now I must go dig mine out. Ha! You never sell anything. So true, so true.
  14. Even worse, that list has people that shouldn't be on it. Had the title of the thread been, "My favorite artists" then there'd be no reason to find fault with the list. Since that is not the case, the fact that Liefeld is listed is laughable. The name Liefeld and words "best artist" listed sequentially should never appear in a positive nature. Well, if the sentence was, "Rob Liefeld was the best artist in his 7th grade homeroom," then I guess you'd have an argument. You're just jealous of his talent, and are obviously motivated to trash Liefeld because of it. That's right. You hide in shame, Liefeld hater! Everybody knows you can't objectively critique art. Plus, he looks good in Levi's. Win - Win
  15. I'm going to say the list is biased towards collectors born yesterday. Damn you, and your sigline worthy quotes!
  16. You KNOW someone reading thinks like that....

  18. I once owned the splash page to X-Factor #66. Whilce Portacio....
  19. Having seen Over street's estimation of value for each book, I think he's spot on for the cerebus 1, but he is definitely too low for the hulk 181. Off by about 300 dollars for 2013. For that reason, the hulk 181 should be above the cerebus 1. -J. Ok, now THIS...this is the right angle, coming at the OPG from a valuation standpoint, which IS totally disputable! Yay! I think he's pretty spot on for a RAW (remember, OPG theoretically represents prices for ALL books, slabbed AND raw) Hulk #181, but it's a completely legitimate way to debate it. I think you would have a hard time selling a raw 9.2 at $2,000 (I saw this price resistance at several shows this year, even with solid 9,2 copies), so it works out.
