  1. It depends on a variety of factors, but 8.5 would be my best guess...
  2. This actually sounds a lot more interesting than the Creepy Annual...
  3. Yessir, I'd say it reminds me more of some of his EC work than the other stories. The thing that I really respect about Wally is that his work always seemed to be at a very high level, and the folks who worked closely with him appeared to benefit from his creativity as well. I can think of very few artists that endeared themselves to their fan base in the same way he did...
  4. This is an interesting observation, since Wood reportedly did this entire story without any help from his friends...
  5. The CGC Grading Guide states that a book with a fully split spine would usually be no higher than a 1.8 and may be further downgraded if tape or extra staples were used to hold the book together...
  6. What I would look for are signs the holder has been opened at either the top, bottom or sides---it's very tough to accomplish this without the holder cracking or showing some type of stress damage. And as long as the grade on the label matches the grade of the book (and all the other information is correct) you should be good.
  7. If this was a Batman comic, I'd be even more impressed...
  8. I find it interesting that they allegedly like to eat glue and they often avoid areas where ink is present...
  9. While qualifying this book would seem to be an option, CGC may just factor the cumulative damage of the missing pieces into the grade. I'd probably just keep this one as a reading copy, but if you decide to submit it, I wish you the very best of luck...
  10. As a good friend of mine once put it: "Sometimes it's better to just sit there and keep your mouth shut..."
  11. I agree. One of my personal favorites for any number of reasons...
  12. This is likely just Hewetson's way of being playful. Very similar to what he did in the Skywald mags...
  13. A very solid, respectable copy that presents well. 7.0 seems reasonable...
  14. With all due respect, I'm not sure why you'd want to spend additional money on a book that's already missing a page...
  15. The pay scale for graders may vary depending upon their knowledge and the amount and type of books they grade...
  16. Unless there's something I'm missing, I could see a 2.5 on this one.
  17. You may be right, because the first Skywald mag I remember buying was Nightmare #2...
  18. And for whatever reason, his work for Skywald seems to be a better fit...
