  1. Thanks, Rick. Being a GS collector, nice job. nice book I've been considering going for some giant-sizes, but I fear the spines would drive me crazy.. what's the percentage chance of finding a decent spine
  2. plus, of all the marvel monsters that's gotta be one of the ugliest.. love that funky hairdo
  3. upgrades (to 9.2 territory) on these.. still searching for 9.4s of these early issues (that last one is a cracked slab.. I've decided to let 9.2s live )
  4. adding some recently purchased monster books to the mix..
  5. actually it's NERNM (Not Even Remotely Near Mint)
  6. also picked up some inexpensive readers - the one thing for which MH is remotely useful Not a bad sword&sorcery read this, with some nice interior art (by Ricardo Villamonte) songs of wandering minstrels, drunken free-for-alls, fiery women, unending feasts.. my kind of place
  7. I remember making a post in a MH Chuck thread along the lines of, "hey, it's OK to bash him, as long as things don't get personal.. he's not a bad guy." Well after receiving this "NM" book I have to retract that statement.. MH Chuck is evil and should be in prison for life
  8. someone certainly loved their war books.. Bigfiver69's old reader?
  9. Not wasting more bandwidth than neccesary, here's the ULC of my best Witching Hour.
  10. Not too scruffy at all (hey, compared to Sterling's, all books are scruffy
  11. actually these auctions (on clink) were kind of weird - I saw several new books listed, two of which had already sold at what I assume was the BIN price - I figured "ok, someone is snagging these books, so I better be snagging too if I want any of them.." so I quickly made offers and accepted the counter-offers. In hindsight, maybe that cost me a few unneccesary dollars.. the fierce competition ended with me. still, happy to get them (I figured I'd go for the 9.6 too, since 9.4s seem commonplace.. warehouse find?)
  12. scanner is not so hot on slabs.. but these just in
  13. congrats, those Weird Wonder Tales are SWEET I've considered going for this title too - So many cool covers, many of which a bit more sci-fi-themed.. Did you get those without breaking the bank
  14. sorry, don't know the grades, but I asked them what these books cost (there was also a 9.0ish #104); it came to about $1250.. IMO Superworld's grading is at times slightly optimistic (as in "not strictly CGC-grading" - we're not talking MH Chuck here!), but the pricing make up for it.
  15. hello collectors of fine early ASMs By way of a fluke I have some books to post here - Dealer sent me the wrong books, I have to return them tomorrow Owning these temporarily is bittersweet extacy though.. I may have to get some ASMs!
  16. some marvel horror books - monsters on the prowl, dead of night etc
  17. Superworld sent me the wrong books I'll return them.. as soon as I'm done enjoying my 15 minutes as an ASM collector (btw did anyone here on the boards order these maybe.. also included were # 36, 46 and 104)
  18. oh and kudos all around on those TTs - Hope you find those 9.8s Sterling Now someone show me some early HOMs before this turns into the Infinite Modern Horror Thread
  19. Basically Pacific went bankrupt and Eclipse took over most of their titles.. Bruce Jones didn't want to continue TT and AW though, so Eclipse just published the remaining two issues of each (later replacing the titles with their own anthologies Tales of Terror and Alien Encounters) Pacific story
  20. thanks, and sorry for that Sterling.. I feel savvy and rude at the same time At least I'm glad to see the BA marvel horror market is red hot
