I started watching the show at the beginning of Tom Baker and you couldn't take your eyes off the television for one second. Man I had a childhood crush on Sarah Jane Smith (RIP) :{ The Genenesis of the Daleks was the coolest program to date I had scene in the sci-fi category. I believe you can watch some of the episodes on Demand somewhere but alot of them were missing.

Looking forward to seeing what it comes back as. The grading education lasts for a life time.

Trying to get a grasp on the lower grades. If the staples were attached loosely would the grade see a significant hike?

A lot of good stuff going for this book. I'd hate to think it would have to settle for the 5.0 because of the attempted erasing of pen. No reasoan this book shouldn't get an easy 6.0 IMO.

I guessed 3.5 on the nose. CGC will be getting my resume for a grader which so far just consists of this thread.

I'm really in the hobby for fun so the grading companies can pretty much call stuff whatever they want. You certainly can't please everyone but you CAN beat a horse too many times.

That seller has 1 negative mark against them. I find it laughable due to what was sold.

Here is the only copy I could find on ebay and it sold for less than #50 bucks. Condition of comic is not listed in this finished auction.

Yah i'm pretty much anywhere in the 3.0 - 4.0 range so i'll say 3.5 also

That statement was directly taken from CGCs definition on this site. It is their exact words in the FAQ section. You should call them and tell them their error in this.

You say "from your other post" but the OP has 1 post so what am I missing? Was something removed from the original post?

Restoration is treatment intended to return a comic book to a known or assumed state by adding non-original material.

So what grade was this book advertised as in the auction? I've re-read (not the same as unread) the whole conversation and the OP never mentions the sellers grade.

I was just kidding don't really want the buyer to start trouble. Unread comic just leaves a bad taste in my mouth every time I see it in a description.

Tell him the book had a page missing inside and he would have known that if he inspected it for manufacturer defects. Of course paging thru it to check it out is the same as reading it right?

When the seller says the book is "unread" it poses the question, how do they know? Unless you pulled the book directly off the press and bagged it how would you know if it is unread? If you bought it at your LCS maybe someone was reading it then put it back on the shelf. Just sounds like the stupidest comment to make about a comic. Sorry for the rant.

OK I found it. I don't have 15 books being submitted so I can't do the quick press and the single book price is more than I want to put into these particular books. Thanks for all the help everyone!

I would say the only one worth considering is the #294 Death of Kraven. But it has to be in fresh off the shelf condition to be worth it. If there are a few spine tics, small fold, anything that takes it away from Mint condition you will pay more to get the book graded than it will be worth. Look at the Ebays finished auctions for this book and see what the 9.8 grade sells for and what the 9.6 goes for. Its a world of difference.

So do you select the pressing in Step 2 or 3?

I submitted some books just recently and I didn't see anything in the form about pressing. How am I not finding it? I took my ritalin. BTW how much time does pressing add to your TAT? I have a stainer and staple popper already lizard but thanks for the info.
