  1.

For some reason everybody is mislabelling this book:

Whoops, thanks for the heads up, the description is now accurate.

  2. There are some wild variants out there but this is pretty wild! There are a group of marvel comics that were put out by a Philippine bookstore, Alemar bookstore in Manilla, Philippines. They are entirely in English and the only difference inside is the ads for Alemar bookstore but this cover is wild. Everybody has seen a blank upc before but how about that blank upper left!? And what about the upper right side, MN 101. That's not suppose to be there! This is only the third one I have ever seen. The other two were Shogun Warriors 1 and the other was a Marvel double feature. Are they rare? Yes. Are they in demand? No because nobody knows about them. I understand there are other titles that exist. This is the only one I have.

This sat in my eBay store for a while, glad it found a home. Now that I know their origin I need to go box digging to see if I have some more of these variants!

  3. Hey everyone,

Earlier this year we acquired a 1,700 piece original owner first issue comic books, pulps and magazines published from the 1930's to the early 1960's. Most of the items were original news stand purchases. The comic portion of the collection is heavy on esoteric and hard to find comics, lots of crime, romance, teen, western, horror and war. Several comics undocumented in guide (for more on these see our market report in Overstreet), rare annuals, Bill Ward covers, L.B. Cole covers, Matt Baker art, pre-code horror and crime, Atlas, Timley, Avon, St. John, Fox, etc. The original owner had lived all over the south from Texas to Florida. Although the books had been moved periodically they stayed in generally nice condition (books have been averaging about 7.0/7.5 with many 8.5 and up).

We recently got a large portion of the comics back from CGC and several of the comics are the highest graded or only copy on the CGC census.

We are going to begin offering these on the evening Sunday August 4th, many through our website but I will also create a thread for exclusive CGC board sales.
