  1. Have you ever read the Everett biography, Fire and Water ? It has scans of all kinds of drawings that would be impossible to buy, such as sketches he did for his family as gifts. The book is written by Blake Bell.
  2. Everyone who has ever tried to build a set of 9.8 Watchmen’s knows this to be true. #8 is the hardest one to find and I’m not sure why (maybe someone out there can tell us). If you’ve just started to collect this miniseries and you see #8, jump on it. It typically sells for twice the amount of the other issues, with the exception of #1.
  3. I just saw that jimbo posted a gorgeous photo of Yellow Claw awhile ago. I don’t suppose you have a scan now that you can share?
  4. I’ve been wanting to upgrade this one for awhile (my favorite Everett cover) but given its rarity, I might have to just be grateful for the copy I have. Jack Kirby does the interior art. I’m not sure if this is Golden Age or Silver. Any thoughts?
  5. Yea! I finally got it in the mail today. This comic is so hard to find and I was scared Marvel Studios would put Venus in a movie, driving up the value to where I couldn't afford it. I had to sell a restored Tales of Suspense #39 to get the money to buy it, but I have no regrets. I might have had second thoughts if Tony Stark was kissing a skeleton on the cover of it though.
  6. I was really happy when this one came back from CGC unrestored. I bought it online raw 10 years ago and feel lucky to have a copy of it. Is it the first Bill Everett cover? Unfortunately he didn’t do any interior art for the issue.
  7. I recommend reaching out to people in the registry who have comics you are interested in getting. Thanks to SOS_Fan I was able to procure my first 9.9 Alan Moore comic. His Swamp Thing run was my favorite thing by him too. So maybe take a break from watching riots and racism on TV, stare at a beautifully drawn Bissette and Totleben Cover for a few seconds, and then go back to being freaked out.
  8. What do you think the odds are at finding an unread, properly stored, copy of this comic? 1 in 10 jillion perhaps?
  9. Hopefully my family and friends can get me professional help if I start sending in high grade puzzles.
  10. I had a similar experience with SOS_fan. He had some Swampies I was trying to find so I messaged him to see if he had any duplicate raw copies he wanted to sell, or if he had comic dealer suggestions for me. Turns out his love of Son of Satan (sorry for turning this into a Bronze Age chat) trumps his love of 1980’s Swamp Thing. He sold me a 9.9 copy of vol. 2 #27. It should be here soon. I’m excited because I don’t own any 9.9’s of anything.
  11. That electricprune guy in the registry reallllly likes Tomb of Dracula. I had no idea they were so hard to track down in 9.8.
  12. Be patient a wait for a 9.8. It’s his origin after all.
  13. Hey nepatkm. I loved your sets in the registry. I noticed this one wasn't listed though. Here's my copy. I'm going to list it for bidding on eBay on Sunday. There are a lot of 9.6's and 9.8's though so you might not care. Isn't it the most 70's tastic cover ever? I'll miss it.
  14. Here's some more Easter Island heads for your viewing enjoyment. I'm not a betting man, but I'd be willing to wager a box of 9.8 Alf's that Alan Moore enjoyed the 1960's and 1970's a lot.
  15. It's in my custom sets in my profile. I'm going to look up your guy's collections in the registry in a second. I want to see the Dracula's bigger.
  16. I feel guilty for laughing at someone who would have 50 issues of Alf graded. I have 250 graded Swamp Things which is 5 times laughable to any sane person. The people at CGC probably want to strangle me.
  17. A lot more affordable than $2000 for a yellow label, but not as cool. I thought that last miniseries was great and I never read my copies. I bought digital versions to read. My plan is to try and eventually get every LOEG comic in 9.8. What can I say: I’m a huuuugggeee fan of the movie.
  18. I got the signed LOEG Tempest hardback in the mail today and here are the scans. I know it's not authenticated, but I still love it.
  19. How did you make a collage of the covers like that? I love it.
  20. Argh. I keep misspelling your name. What’s that a reference too?
  21. Hahhaaahhhhaaahhhhaaa! That is awesome! You rock Qulyar. I’m laughing so hard right now.
  22. I’m nervous to buy these through the mail. I don’t want to accumulate 50 of them in pursuit of something that probably only 3 people on planet Earth give a bleep about.
