  1. Off White to White Pages? I should just throw it in the trash.
  2. I’ve been looking for a 9.8 copy of Secret Origins #10 or awhile. I’ve been buying raw “NM” copies online and none of them will work. I was stoked when I got this one raw. It’s the first appearance of Mogo but man that cover is terrible.
  3. Kid Miracleman is the best (or worst depending on how you view things). I like the loops in the signature. Does anyone out there in internet land have a high grade copy of Mister Monster #3? Both of my copies aren't so hot.
  4. I don’t suppose one of the 14 people out there who own a graded 10 want to share a high res scan of it?
  5. Maybe Marvel Studios will make an FF movie using the Malice storyline and then your 9.8 #369 will be priceless. Stranger things have happened. Starlord is now valuable. I never saw that one coming.
  6. I love the FF though. The first 416 issues graded is enviable in my opinion. I hate to say it, but I think you should go for it. I just sold my #17 9.4 to try and get money for a high grade House of Secrets #92. It didn’t sell for enough though. I could have used you in the bidding.
  7. I love the drawing on the back. I’ve always had a fondness for Easter Island heads. I can’t wait to get it in the mail. If anyone cares, I’ll scan them when I get the package.
  8. Ah well. I think I’ll just keep it the way it is. Thanks for the info.
  9. I’m so dorky that I even named my cat: Wilhelmina Furry
  10. I just bought this a minute ago on eBay. Does anyone out there in Internet Land know if the signature would come back from CGC without a Yellow label? If it’s uncertified by CGC then it’s not worth the money sending it in to be graded. It’s still a badass purchase in my opinion.
  11. Taboo #4. I love this issue. In addition to From Hell its got a Moebius cover, Gaiman, Sim, Bissette, Totleben, Vess, and the director of El Topo himself: Alejandro Jodorowsky. The spine on my copy is holding it back. It might be a 9.2 or 9.4 though?
  12. Hahhaaahaaaa! Thanks for joining in on this. I remember that Sue Storm costume with the 4 on her chest flesh colored. So bad. And the Thing had that helmet because Wolverine cut his face. Ah memories.
  13. I've heard that Moore hates DC, Marvel, and Image and doesn't like signing books published by them. It's just a rumor on my part though. I don't know for sure. I bet if it was for charity he might sign a Captain Britain or Swamp Thing. There's a signed Moore copy of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen #1 9.8 on eBay right now and the seller wants $2,000 for it. Too rich for my blood. I think I paid $65 for my unsigned, graded 9.8 copy.
  14. I have the 1st and last issue of this series and want to fill in the inbetween issues (any comic book dealers out there listening?) I think the only issue I have that maybe could come back a 9.8 is issue #7.
  15. You are absolutely correct about dealers not caring about random copper age. I have a boarder who’s staying with me during the pandemic. He’s 70 and owns the local comic book store. He’s been around forever and knows a lot of the comic shop owners in the Bay Area where I live. I constantly harangue him for high grade copies of crud which might take him hours to find in all of his unorganized hoarding. If he does eventually find something in high grade that I want, it’s only worth about 5 bucks. It’s not a good way to make a living. Lucky for him he has a bunch of stuff that is rare and collectible to sell during this time. Anyway, he does not give a (bleep) about making sure that sucky Swamp Thing comics from the early 90’s are properly conserved.
  16. I know, right. Every time I get back a 9.6 I want to Hulk out and throw it against the wall.
  17. This chat board is making me nostalgic and just caused me to buy this on ebay. I’m going to give it to CGC for cross grading because I’m OCD like that. It’s frustrating though. I recently got back a comic that was CBCS 9.8 which CGC gave a 9.4. The grader notes said “small crease on back cover’. I don’t see a color break so I’m going to gamble again and have it pressed. Wish me luck.
  18. Just some words of advice if you decide to go down this road. I’ve found that I’ve had to buy runs from private collectors on eBay in order to get high grade copies of issues that no one in their right mind would send into CGC. As a result I’ve started to amass multiple copies of issues that suck and they’re eating up space. Also at one point I wasn’t paying attention to how many $15 to $50 sets I was buying and the costs ballooned to the point where I had to sell some cool, rare, desirable stuff from my collection to offset the expense. This path may make you do some dumb investment moves to procure comics that no one but you wants graded.
  19. I have to say I’ve been having fun trying to build a complete Swamp Thing set, but I’ve had to send in a number of issues that have crappy covers, art, and stories. The downside of being obsessive compulsive I guess. Anyway, maybe we should share our most horribly embarrassing 9.8’s. I felt sick spending money on this one. It’s absolutely awful.
  20. The 1st appearance of D.R. and Quinch and their first cover. I would love to get Moore to sign these. They are some of the funniest comic creations ever.
  21. I really like this cover and would love to find a better copy.
