  1. Very nice!!! Look at those sharp corners, those beautiful colors! I hear the angels singing ahhhhhhh!
  2. Flash fans as you can see I've had to settle for lower grade books but I really feel this time I will finally complete the set! After 40 years of collecting and having to sell 2 collections along the way. Rebuilding this time has been extra special. Keep sharing and help me count down over the next year or two as I complete the "Flash Run"!
  3. And of course my 109! This years top dog for me. Grimy, dirty and worn but at least it's finally able to retire in a nice Mylar sleve and acid free board?
  4. Love the annuals! Nobody did annuals better than the Flash!
  5. This one was also a special pick up for me this year! I had a really nice copy in the 90's. It was great to get a copy back in my collection!
  6. One of my favorite pick ups this year. I was thrilled to get it! Love those science fiction covers!
  7. I don't even have one of these babies yet! You are indeed fortunate fellow Flash fan!
  8. You've got some amazing books Bocabill!! Keep sharing!
  9. I'm getting closer to completing my run. Only 79 books left 105-350. Less than 20 silver age, about 60 of the later books 270 - 350 range. Closer than ever before!
  10. I almost bought a coverless 123 this year just to have one...thinking I may not be able to afford one...but im saving and holding out. Its such a classic I have to have one with a cover! Plus I'm a big golden age Flash fan too. My collection won't be complete without a complete 123.
  11. Great books! You been holdin out! I love that 125 cover one of my all time SA faves!!! I will post my copy later (mines not nearly as nice)..what about you jking..surely you have a GA Flash to show off!?
  12. One last call for Golden Age Flash. Show 'em off if you got 'em! (I only have a few left) I know some of you Flash fans have some tucked away... Right?
  13. Maybe next year I'll be able to get one?
  14. As much as we all love our comics, the thought of me damaging one of them always kept me from attempting this. Re member you can always hunt for a better looking copy? Still if your interested in retouch and restoration it is a fascinating profession (an art form really), I would invite you to look up Susan Cicconi and Mark Wilson. They are the experts.
  15. Yes exactly. It will be difficult indeed. I am impressed that that you are looking into it. I'm willing to bet that you just might pull it off. You've done the research.
  16. I've often wondered myself how I might touch up some of my beloved SA comics. I was a printer by trade for many years. I've concluded that it would be very difficult because during the printing process the ink goes on so very thin. You wouldn't just be able to dip a paint brush into a tin of ink and start touching up. The application and consistency would have to be just right. There are experts who have figured it out, but I'm sure their services aren't cheap. As for me I've decided to leave my books as they are. I still love them just the same. (Flash 136 I allways wondered if I could pull off a little touch up ?)
  17. Flash fans like I've said before I've been out of the loop for a long time. I've been using this old guide to grade my books with. Is it obsolete?
  18. When I started buying comics they were 15 cents. There were many price hikes in my generation but I remember when they went up to 35. I said no way that's too much for a comic! About a year later I had cought the collecting bug and was happily paying $5 or more for those great SA and GA back issues!
  19. Love those early SA science fiction books!!!
  20. Something new I found at the cigar store, a burbon cigar seasoned with Makers Mark. Very tastey!
