  1. yea- I am a fan too.. was trying to buy some art from his xforce book but this worked out instead. His art is all traditional... and direct no rep
  2. Hahaha- The Alex Ross and Pepe Larraz price tags stopped me.. but I was persistent on this.. finding out how to contact 38 different artists is not easy!
  3. Isn't the probation list about warning future buyers about this type of behavior? i do no know know either the buyer or the seller.. but I know I would be mad if I was the buyer.. and as a future buyer I would like to know if a seller did something like this in the past. Especially a 2k book... people choose checks to save fees.. they should also understand the mail is not always reliable.. prompt payment is a cop out here.
  4. The Colossus origin was one I targeted from the door- I love the character and luckily it was by an artist I admire and wanted to add a piece to my collection from anyway: Aaron Kuder
  5. This one - while speaking to Bernard Chang- I found out each artist chose the page they wanted to do. And Bernard chose this one to keep it culturally accurate- and I Absolutley love turning the sunfire panel into a splash
  6. Conversely Emanuela Lupacchino stayed very close to the source material but in her fantastic style.
  7. This from Josh Cassara and in my opinion the best Wolverine page in the book. You can see how some artists took more artistic liberties then others
  8. I know most OA collectors do not keep up with modern comics (and I am well on that way too) but I wanted to share this awesome book marvel put out a couple weeks ago: as a tribute to Wein and Cockrum and the 45th anniversary of GSX coming out. They rebuilt the book from scratch having 38 different artists each recreate a page from the book ... I thought this was such a cool idea and it being my favorite comic of all time I wanted to get some art from it. In a dream world I would have bought the whole book.. but that was neither financially or physically possible. The covers , one by Granov and one by Tradd Moore sold long before I even knew this existed. The splash by Alex Ross sold for 35k which was out of my league and unfortunately 14 (confirmed -a couple I haven’t found out yet) pages of the interior were only done digitally ... that being said this was a labor of love.. I reached out to all 38 artists/reps or both to track down what was out there and see if I could get some. I wound up securing 6 pages - 4 are in hand now and a couple more shipping from over seas. Some pages I wanted the artists weren’t selling and a couple the asks were just astronomical to me. I am going to post the page of art and then the page of Cockrum that was recreated. I encourage anyone else who got some to do the same and I also ask if anyone knows of any available pages to Pm as I would like to add more if I can! here is the published comics
  9. Thank you @Unca Ben for making this one happen! The final page of X-men 32 .. beautiful twice up page with costumed X-men in every panel 2 panels with the whole team plus a great Juggernaut panel to top it off! I couldn’t think of a better page to fill this spot on my list! Werner Roth -
  10. Thanks! I keep all of these (minus the kirby because as a twice up it is to big) in one portfolio in age order
  11. I think I may have wished this one into the universe... . I decided a month or so ago that JRJR should be my next ✅.. unfortunately I could not find anything available . I made a couple offers on HA and got some crazy counter offers back. Then I noticed one coming up in the HA auction and one coming up in the next comiclink and figured I better arm the war chest to go after one. As I was strategizing.. a page popped up on eBay but not really what I was looking for.. then last night I was scrolling through Facebook and my favorite local Art Dealer Anthony’s comic art was flipping through some new inventory on a video and boom! This lovely page featuring Mohawk Storm was there!! And now it is here.
  12. Depends on the rules set forth by the seller.. some will say an I take it trumps all like you did in your rules and which point pm negotiations mean nothing .. or they will state that whatever comes in time stamped first the pm or the ill take it.. wins. you make the rules..we make sure you follow them
  13. The forums are a self policed community... not Facebook. there are ways things are done here to make that community including standing by the rules you set forth and the rules of the boards. No one was attacking you , people were just pointing out how it is done around here and how you set your rules you need to stand by.. whether the rules are overly comprehensive or simple is up to you. but the community will police them, that is why people are so comfortable selling and buying at very substantial levels here. the peanut gallery has saved many a person from fraud around here.. I myself on a hulk 181 that was a scam.. thankfully someone butted in and found the same book and serial number listed elsewhere by a different seller and let me know before I paid. saved me a couple grand..
  14. The pm dealing means nothing here.. the book was available and a take it was presented.. the book should be sold . if it was not the person you were speaking to via PM what would you have done?
  15. @Jginsberg79 werent you looking for these early Capt marvel?
  16. The Cover to Batman 251 sold for 600k.... I think this is better so my guess (which I put in the guess thread) 780k
  17. Any inkling on the value (either trade or cash) when it changed hands over the last couple years?
