  1. Glue from a missing word stat- one the published cover it said something there that was glued on and since fell off and lost .
  2. Picked this one up last week at the Suffolk show when I saw Dan Mora. Probably would have never looked through his portfolio if a friend didn't ask me to pick up a commission from him.very glad I did!
  3. Metropolis- or Anthony's is about 20 minutes outside of Manhattan
  4. It is not the worst I have seen but I see why you would not be head over heels on it... Venom is a tough subject though... Not sure I would ever commission an expensive venom without seeing a lot of examples of that artists renditions first.
  5. Thanks! You are lucky! I am still hunting for a page but this should hold me over until it turns up lol.
  6. I had a blast... it was not crowed bought a few pieces of art... had some books signed. Steranko and Adam Kubert were accessible and awesome, even bought some comics!
  7. The first 2 comics I was given as a child were X-men 175 and the Thing 5 . My aunt bought them off a spinner rack in a super market when I was 6 years old. Obviously it created a life long hobby. Since I started collecting OA i have been hunting pieces of either of these books to no avail. I did find the owner of the Thing 5 and he is actually a friend now. But he isn’t ready to sell it... SO I decided to do the next best thing. I reached out to Ron Wilson the artist who drew the cover and asked him to make my own.. I picked it up this weekend at the Suffolk show and could not be happier!!
  8. Picked up a couple pieces at the Suffolk show Saturday- Spider-man by Larry stroman Nightcrawler - quick sketch by Barry Kitson And Phoenix by Enrique Lopez
  9. I think that was the issue... he seemed to mimic others style without his own distinctness. I always enjoyed his art but his figures always seem a bit stiff to me
  10. Sorry- I have no clue who is who from here in the real world lol- I just remembered your thread on your stuff being published without knowing and how you like this version of GOG. Thanks!
  11. Hey @Bill C I got something in the mail today that may be right up your alley I saw this at auction and could not resist! The early 90s were my hey day for reading and collecting and I loved the Guadians of the Galaxy by Jim Valentino- happy to have added this splashy page from the 1st appearance of Major Victory!! How much more 90s can you get then this page? Lol
  12. Not to exciting for you long time GA collectors - but I was organizing some books so I figured I would snap a group pic of my marvel mystery comics... only like 80 more to go! Lol
  13. This is a fantastic topic... While I agree with most of what is said in the quoted post. Especially about the glut of variants currently hitting the market I do not agree that current covers can not be iconic or nostalgic. I think it comes down to the subject and the artist. I am also an X-men fan and I am fairly certain I will never be able own a Byrne/Adams/Lee X-Men cover. But what I do own are a couple recent variant covers like the one below that touch all those feelings the vintage ones would. I obviously paid a premium vs a splash but no where near what the vintage stuff commands and no current splashes would touch the collector cords this does.
