  9. As a newbie poster to this thread, congrat! Happy hunting for more.
  10. No labels!!! I'm considered a gourmet in the tabcom home. What my wife doesn't know is that I sprinkle seventy year old comic book dust on her garlic toast. My wall displays utilize old cgc holders velcro'd to foam-board poster. Several covers are photo copies of the ones I store in the vault. I'm dedicating two boards, ten comics, to pre-Bat-Tecs in 2010.
  11. The scratch that keeps on itching . . .
  12. Regardless of his indiscretions, he did accurately describe what he is offering . . . ACTION COMICS #13 4th superman COVER scarce.
  13. If you were ever curious about 'Robot Man', 'Pow-Wow Smith', 'Captain Compass', 'Roy Raymond', and don't forget 'Casey the Cop', here's your chance to read the backup stories from these DC Comics from the fifties. BTW, these late Golden Age Batman features are not yawners. Detective Comics #141 - 231. #225 included (Total = 23)‏
  14. Who all was in attendance, from Marvel?
  15. Probably one of the most important Dr. Strange stories of the entire Ditko run. "If Eternity Should Fail!" - Strange Tales #138. I can't believe that this story didn't even merit a mention on the cover! Eternity pre-dates Galactus by 4 months. He is just as mysterious and frightening. It's fascinating to me how some characters are instant hits, while others are easily forgotten.
  16. What was the date of the convention appearance?
  17. The signed splash page is from Strange Tales #118. I bought it, along with about 15 other Strange Tales'. Also in that stack were a couple signed Jack Kirby comics. The collection came from NJ. Is it not true that Ditko did attend early comic cons in the NY\NJ area (circa 1964-65)? If so, it is reasonable to assume he signed comics for fans? Although it is impossible to confirm the authenticity, it is an odd coincidence that within a stack of Strange Tales Comics would be signed copies from Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. Rockman2008 . . . although your skepticism is noteworthy . . . perhaps if someone who attended one of the early comic cons and had S. Ditko sign a comic came forward -- this would validate the authenticity of the scan I posted.
  18. I know the feeling. I was watching all those auctions yesterday. It was fun watching the crazy snipes come in. However, when I did a Heritage archival search of past auctions for those same issues, the buyers paid a hefty premium.
  19. My wife brought tabcom, jr. home 3 short weeks ago. Congrats!
  20. I've been tracking them on ebay since last summer. They only pop up once about every 6 weeks. They have been surfacing out of Canada, New Zealand, Austrialia. I bought mind from an ebayer in Canada.
