  1. Scored this in a local trade. Any thoughts? I am considering slabbing it.
  2. A lot of good perspective here. TBH, I gave up buying on spec and just pick up what I like. Unlike many here, I enjoyed the whole MechaHulk cockpit idea. But that's just me. I just felt that issue #6 fell flat and had no real resolve. I finished reading it and said "Titan? Big deal." Plus it was hella confusing! I really hope for selfish reasons issue #3 is the designated first appearance. And I hope Cates can position the Titan character for a bigger moment that blows things up like Knull did (Venom #3). BTW - The philosophy of not buying on spec has iced me out of many big hits. For instance, I do NOT have a UF 4. Why? Because I just do not care for the Miles character. I'd rather put money into something I love like older Hulks, ASMs...heck even X-Men.
  3. And for full transparency, I have a graded Hulk #3 variant Tradd Moore. It does NOT state the 1st appearance of Titan. Don't know if that means anything.
  4. You know, TBH the hate train is high with issue #6. People claim Cates has a habit of introducing a great new villain, tease it for a few pages, then not pay off the character. I do not have enough experience with his work. But, I felt he helped launch the fervor for Knull and the Venom series he did was quite entertaining. No spoilers -- but after I read Hulk #6, I was pretty underwhelmed with it. The whole Titan banter was a bit overhyped. Not a bad story per say, but I expected far more. I do feel that #3 will be the first appearance for a myriad of reasons. Mainly, as one commentator said, it is more than a cameo and we don't have that many variants like #6. Do we know the print run of #3 vs #6? That might also play into book equity and popularity.
  5. I was thinking the same thing. Clean /Press should raise it up to maybe an 8.0?
  6. Scored this book at a local pawn shop for a few bucks. Thoughts on the grade. I might slab it.
  7. Recently purchase it, has a slight imprint ding on the bottom left barcode area. Unsure where the grade would land if I bothered. Thoughts? Thank you!
  8. Hi all - A few more books to help with grading. This was a bin find. Only $2. Thoughts on this ASM #304. Thanks
  9. @zzutak - I believe you are right. I might just encase it on my own. The color is beautiful on it and love the distress (sort of a worn down pulp fiction Photoshop filter) effect. The book is by no means a gem. But aesthetically is pleasing.
  10. Interesting. So not a 9.0? Any specific notes why?
  11. I was thinking an 8.0 but maybe 7.0 would be right.
  12. Such low grades. I feel it might be in this range as well.
  13. Hi there - What do you think? Wishing to slab. I feel it is a good copy but the stains in the back are hard on the eyes. Thanks!
  14. Hi there - What do you think? Bought it 20 years ago. Wishing to slab. Thanks!
  15. Well...Knull was a runaway success for now. Venom #3 is still hot. So perhaps Titan will enjoy the same fame? Though billed as "Cameo", I feel Hulk #3 will be the book people pursue as a 1st appearance of Titan. Others disagreed.
  16. Title says it all. I heard a debate in my local comic book store. Few collectors argued Hulk #3, others said it was just a cameo. What say you? Which will be Black Hulk's first appearance and why?
  17. I would say a good 4 spreads in. So, 8 pages. I...just...can't....look...at the back. Heartbreaking. And such a good book for X-Men.
