That makes no sense. If it were a 9.2 and someone touched it up, it would be a 9.2 Restored or higher.
That's why I was asking. Seemed very odd. Apparently the only thing wrong with it is it was missing a little ink on the cover so someone touched it up with a marker or something. Not understanding why this is confusing some people. I heard missing ink was considered a slight printing error anyways and shouldn't have affected the grade. So probably would have graded even higher.

I sent a comic in to be graded and just because someone touched up the color slightly, it came back as an 8.5 restored. It would have been at least 9.2 had the restoration not been done.

Interesting. I just assumed that they would be DC characters since they are DC comics. The other one I have is obviously Ambush bug. So I am thinking they are characters he has worked with in the past. Someone get Giffen over here!

Hello, I just got back a bunch of omega men 3s that I had signed and sketched by Keith Griffin. I was wondering if someone could help me identify who he drew in each one. I am more of a Marvel fan, so not familiar with all the DC characters. One looks like Captain America to me, but I am pretty sure it is the Flash. Thanks for the help!

I think I posted this in the wrong place.

I was wondering why my comics that were submitted on 7/30 are still in the "received" status? I asked a month ago and was told the pressing process is due to be completed on 10/22. All inquiries since then have basically said it should be done soon.

Thanks everyone. Still not sure if I should have it graded or sell it or both. The cool thing about it is that it is just about the same age as I am. Assuming comics with April on the cover were actually made in March. The cover is kind of cool too.

Strange, I thought this was the CGC forum. You know where people ask questions about cgc. My bad.

Can I upgrade my order to get some of them signed if I already submitted them and they are in the "received" status?

Matrix Variant. Thanks.

I have it listed for 99.99. just received an offer for 75. Still a week left so not sure if I want to take it or if I want to sell for that low. https://outside-affiliatelinksnotallowed.ebay.com/outside-affiliatelinksnotallowed/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F253795599925

After further review, with the given pic of the front cover and all the glare, I cannot ascertain a grade. I seem to see something like 15 deep spine ticks but some of the tics may be glare.
Yes, Sorry it isn't the best pic. At the time I was just trying to verify that I actually had it. I am pretty sure it is better then it looks in the pic. Still waiting for it to get back from being graded. Will post pics when it gets here.

So yeah. I am kicking myself now.

I was young and not that knowledgeable about collecting. Basically, The first cover got in pretty bad shape so I removed it. I assume that is also how the other one got removed. Although I can't remember. I just know it had 7 covers when I brought it new at the store.
-
I don't think the front cover looks that bad.

Yes, a very generous grade on the 8.5 but, as you stated, irrelevant. I wonder if CGC is generous in this situation to discourage the removal of the first cover ? I do think the eye appeal of that first cover will discourage some buyers.
Sad thing is, it did originally have 7 covers.

Just to update everyone. I just had it graded. 1st cover 8.5, 2nd cover 9.2 3rd cover 9.4 4th cover 9.4 interior cover 9.4. Was hoping for higher, but good enough. I plan on putting it on Ebay soon. Have not received it yet. Should get it soon. Any suggestions on how much I should start the bids at?

Shadroch, I would certainly consider your offer. Maybe I should just put in on eBay and see what I get. Or maybe the sales board. I am new here, so have not even seen the sales board yet.
Does restoration decrease a comic's grade?

Ok, So it should have been graded much higher than it was. Thanks. That is what I thought. Was just making sure. Btw, I do my own screening process. It is not that difficult to figure out what grade a comic should get. I don't send in comics unless they have a chance at getting a 9.8. Amazing, all the people wondering how I could possibly guess at what grade it should be, like it is rocket science or something.
