  1. Apologies, but at this point I shouldn't be making too many public statements about it. I'll post a full follow-up with all the info when I get the go ahead though.
  2. I filed the police report the day I found the unit ransacked but after that honestly couldn't think about them being gone without getting sick to my stomach for a good few weeks. I really hope it never happens to any of you all (or anyone else, period), especially if you have books you truly love and that truly bring you joy to take out and look at. Everyone, please get Collectibles Insurance. If you need suggestions check out last weeks Bronze and Modern Gods episode (discussion 22-23 minutes in). The big takeaways from this for me were: - It doesn't matter how many banks you call, if you can't find a safety deposit box: keep calling. - Storage units? Never. - Collectibles Insurance: Always. - Your collection is not safe out of your hands even for a few days unless it is in the hands of someone you trust 100%.
  3. Storage unit. I had just moved my things in. The place was hit within the first 3 days.
  4. Thank you! Not that I know of.. but maybe the Police investigation will turn up more information. We'll see.
  5. Thank you. Absolutely. I'm almost done with a list of local stores to reach out to. HPD's Burglary & Theft Division has an automated system that sends out stolen item bulletins to all Pawn Shops in the area, so fortunately the list has already been sent out to them.
  6. Some of these are amazingly painful to lose (I bet you can guess which ones). I'll have to write up something brief as far as "lessons learned", but for now suffice it to say Collectibles Insurance and a Bank Vault would have likely saved my tail. Also, they're not safe out of your possession even for a moment unless they're insured. What a disaster.
  7. To get straight to the point, my entire collection of graded comics was stolen recently (along with a lot of other things). I’ve been working with the Houston Police Department ever since but wanted to reach out to the broader community for help. If anyone comes across these books or hears of them in circulation please send any information to myself or Sherrell Jackson with the Houston Police Department. Most of them are unique in some way and can be easily identified visually. Photos of each slab are linked. I can be reached at david.i.noel@gmail.com, @davidsobjects on IG, here, or by phone (please contact me and I'll send you my number). Sherrell Jackson’s contact info is: sherell.jackson@houstonpolice.org or +1-713-308-0946. If you prefer reaching out to HPD directly, their Burglary & Theft Division's main phone number is +1-713-308-0900. The Police Report / Incident Number is: 154057723W. 8. It's Jeff. I did the username password thing backwards
  9. Found this via a Google Search. Please let me know if you find a thread with a CGC case size to bag conversion table. I've found this so far:
  10. I've been given estimates ranging from a 3 by an LCS to a 5, which is the upper bounds of what I'd personally been willing to estimate as well. It was sold as a 6.5 As this one may have manually Separated Siamese/Joined along with a number of other issues that make it a kind of difficult case feel free to follow the thread if you want to get a follow-up. If the dealer and I can work something out I'll post some pics once it's in a slab. Thanks for the assist!
  11. Hi, I recently picked this up and am curious to know what others estimate this grade to be. The large interior piece missing, possibly due to separated joined pages, measures 2 1/2" in length and 15/16" in height. Thank you Here is a link to the gallery: https://pixhost.to/gallery/OJFGt Interior (links): Front: Reverse:
