Hey....Yeah those were the two I was thinking about also. I surprised myself and refrained from bidding. Both did go for record prices for the grades but they both got 2 or 3 quick bids and ended quickly. No bidding war on either. I was glad to see that. The Suspense 8 looked good, nice even wrap, but kind of dull colors it seemed, not too bad for that book. The WM 4, that did look to have dull colors. Even on the pics from it's previous 2017 e bay sale they looked dull, that's the main reason I didn't bid. Plus the fact I can't see these big pch's getting much higher. I mean they are up there already. Probably wrong about that.
Yeah those were pretty dark- one upside of more books coming to auction, it's getting a bit easier to let the uglies go...
however I just couldn't resist this with the entire bottom edge of the cover missing! Lol! Telling myself it works visually with the other jagged edges in the composition, and conceptually in terms of the degradation and decay the dug grave foretells.- Professor K and mjoeyoung

Considered a sort of classic, I was never drawn to this cover until I recently met one in person. Now I have one and I'm having a hard time putting it away. A puzzle I'm obsessed with solving. First, there's a time-warping progression of decapitated floating female heads, evolving from a prototypical 1950's attractive woman, into.... what? Is she a he now? A gnarly grandma? A gnarly grandpa?? And what's that fury stuff around the neck- is it a vulture maybe, they have furry necks, right? That is a bird beak, no? An owl then? And those snakes, I've never seen such big heads on such skinny bodies. Are they emerging from Grandma's body. Medusa like? What does it all mean???
"Here son, I stopped by the newsstand and brought you home a comic book." "Oh wow thanks Dad!"
Oh yeah. and there's a balding middle aged man with blood running down his face because a giant monster hand is clawing out his eyes.- adamstrange, fifties, badback83 and 10 others

Total side note, but can anyone tell me why are most of Blisssrds eBay books are so dry and oxidized looking? Been curious about this for years now. Thanks.

Nice. That Punki seller had hundreds of rare collectables of all types listed, all with the exact same end date, and all with a convoluted buy it now process.

Just an interesting observation- I bought 2 raw copies a while ago and noticed they both had that line going across the front cover, horizontally about 2/3rds down, directly across the victim's eyes. I've seen dozens over the years, but only a few copies without it. Interestingly, the highest graded copies I've seen don't have it.
And yeah, 5.0 - 5.5 for me too.- Point Five and BuscemasAvengers

My first time running across this- two sellers offering the same book. This must be a scam, right? What else can it be?

Then again, as some boardies such as @buttock, @drbanner, @Courageous Cat,etc. might say here.............and at times Heritage is just the absolute WORST place to sell your GA goodies.
A drop from $3,960 all the way down to only $360 or a beatdown of over 90% in just 5 short months for the EXACT SAME copy.
I don't get how this book sold for $3,960 to begin with, it's a 5.5, is this a special issue? Seems sketchy.
There's a 6.5 tied for highest graded in the next signature auction at $24 right now.

I am assuming you mean Heritage here since CGC would certainly not deal in raw books?
Ha ha whoops- thanks!

Now I can see why they were looking to hire more graders of their own because it seems that an overwhelming portion of their books for these Sunday 3-day auctions are now raw as they are probably not worthwile to send in for CGC certification.
I imagine some of their consignors are willing to give them their nicer books for consignment, but only on the condition that they also take all of their other crapola books and I imagine the Heritage warehouse must be filling up to the point of almost exploding by now.
I don't think I've ever bought a raw book from Heritage that I was truly happy with. Tanning int covers, bad pq, splits pulls etc., issues I'd normally pass on. You never know for sure what you're going to get until it's in hand. There's no defect descriptions unless there's something major like detached cover. But I keep chasing the dream- I see a book on my want list, looks "good for the grade", I bid up "just a bit" over my max, get it in the mail... heartbreak. It's like buying trading cards in the old days, the wrapper looks great, but you don't know what you've really bought till you open it up- all doubles, or triples...
Actually I've bought several raw low grade jungle & fantastic & fight readers from cgc just for the Fletcher Hanks art- which I'm plenty happy with, so there's that. -
