Easy 300k no problem I would pay 250k and I'm 1980s cheap its only unrestored untouched 1 time. I wanted a copy of Action 7 back and passed restored copy's but grabbed this right away and its ugly like @lou_fine:whistle: just kidding @lou_finelooks like rock Hudsen. This is the worse 7 you could buy, and I paid over 20k, but I love having something unrestored.image.jpeg.63c6f1251590b8f089d8be1b6cc2f0ae.jpeg

hmm this is what makes it strange to me. Its missing a back cover Every page is missing an 1 inch chunk out of it. The cover has a big stain along with another big piece missing. A restored copy would go for less? The restored copy is at least complete. They added some color and a small piece. I just find it strange because if I was to take the restored one and "unrestore" it ( remove the pieces, remove color, split the book in half ) it be worth more? I am sure the restored book has much more of a original book than that .5 . At least its got a back cover lol.

Maybe its just the way I look at it.

Wow bet this sell for a record considering it will be the only affordable copy you will see in years.

    Action Comics #1 Incomplete (DC, 1938) CGC PR 0.5 Off-white | LotID #87001 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com)

Golden Age (1938-1955):Superhero, Action Comics #1 Incomplete (DC, 1938) CGC PR 0.5 Off-whit...

This should be really interesting to see the price. A restored copy 6.5 went for 300,000 in 2021 at HA. I wonder because it's considered "unrestored" it would go for around that or more.

Overall market is down about 35 percent compared to the absolute peak in prices from 1st Half 2022(I know that sounds crazy but just go take a look through the HA archives). There are however still quite a few hot sectors, especially from art from the last 20 years or so.

The Hush cover would have sold for double a year ago.

The lol of today for me was the Bane pages.

Do you think the Bane pages were overpriced?

This one needs to be in everyone's collection.

This comic is on my list to get. Hard to find in in a 9.8 white page.

I think this is my fav Neal Adams horror cover. Phantom Stranger 10. Really hard to find in high grade. I would love a 9.8 but 9.6 is the highest grade. 4 in 9.6. Saw this a few years ago and have not seen another 9.0 plus since.

I understand the logic of the questioning - but it also gets to why is any of this worth anything - only because someone sees a value in something.   Here is a 9.6 vs a 9.2 of Batman #251 - why is the 9.6 worth $3k more (+300%) over the 9.2?   Are the differences really that material?     I assume some of one's view of what is a rational vs irrational depends greatly on how much money you or have to spend on this hobby/investments.    If you are not someone who would ever drop $30k on a book - it would never seem rational to spend the premium for a 9.8 vs. a 9.6.    If you would never drop more than $2k on a book - you think it is crazy to pay for a 9.6 Batman 251 vs a nice 9.2.

I Know that 9.8 sale on eBay is not legit. No one paid that for this comic. Last month one sold on comic link for around 14k in 9.8.

I just I don't believe it sold for more than double what that one sold for.

Ebay has a history of the item being "sold" but not transaction actually took place.

I have bought and sold this book many times including a few 9.8's and it always goes for around 10-13k. I have a 9.8 signed by Neal Adams. 1 of 2. no one would buy it for 30k plus.
