  1. Kudos to my neighbor at the VCC, BadDeacon for a fantastic box full of goodies from his thread, they were inexpensive, but packed like gold, accurately described and an incredible bargain, I almost feel guilty accepting them. Thanks SO much Sean I'm going to be reading these for weeks...I really appreciate the opportunity to buy them from you
  2. No, I just got a box of books from someone who was "set up" next to me at the VCC, and they are FANTASTIC, much nicer than expected, well packed, great communication... BadDeacon I should go put all this on the Kudo's thread...and I will ...but ...I wouldn't lose faith in people, the people mentioned here are really far and few between, we just talk about them a lot.
  3. I'm so glad! I was busy typing when you posted this! and hadn't read it Good for you and good for him!
  4. I don't think he has any auctions running currently. I wonder if he's still posting on the other chatboard that was mentioned? He needs to answer the Paypal claim within a certain number of days, or they will find in your favor, and he's aware of that from my claim...so...he should either be producing a receipt for them, or Paypal should honor the claim. That's why I suggested you don't wait, the clock is now ticking for him. If you used a credit card, ,you should be OK, as well, most credit cards let you dispute a payment at least within 60 days, so you should be OK, even if Paypal messes it up. I really have a hard time reading people lately, here was someone who posted a number of times stating that he was in trouble and had to sell his books. The first listing made no sense, anyone with any common sense would have known it would not have sold for all that money. He wasn't selling expensive books, mostly junk, yet he came to a chatboard with a bunch of comic book experts expecting to do what? He got some advice, seemed to accept it, although it took a while. When he did post his separate lists, he seemed genuine, I did think his books would be the grades stated...again they weren't super expensive books and he has those LONG lists, it seemed more he was stressed and or lazy than a scam artist. If he's a crook, he's going about it the wrong way, most of his 99 cent listings on Ebay are costing him money. Too much of this, just doesn't compute for me. Either he just simply didn't know how to grade and he was too arrogant to admit an error...or he's a member of "the Gang Who Couldn't Shoot Straight." I still think someone should try calling him...again, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I think there is too much history. I am REALLY sorry that you are going through this Matt. I hope it wasn't a lot of money.
  5. Thanks so much, Charles, right back at ya!! It was my pleasure:)
  6. Kudos to YOU, Jack, it was SO much fun, you have a marvelous sense of humor and I feel like I made a new friend...(we certainly spent eons together over that list....ummm...it was NOT ridiculous...but I ain't taking one of your classes... Thanks so much for the wonderful communication, the fast payment, and the GRADING...(not comic grading, list related grading.. but I would do it again in a second! Wow. Maybe YOU should have paid ME for all that fun. Jack Now, now, let's not get TOO excited...I already promised you free shipping!

  8. Thanks to all of you, YES, it was:) and I'll be listing on Ebay for the next month to pay for them, ...but I'm still having fun:) Nice Weird book, too! I have some of those somewhere:) but not that early .
  9. Thanks! I'll give it a couple of days before calling. Long distance cost of the call makes me BTW if anyone has his address would appreciate a PM. Maybe you sent him a check or maybe his address was on the box of some comics you bought from him. Just in case i need go down the legal road again Sorry, I checked that, but the Paypal address was a woman's name, same on the mailer. I'd offer to call him for you, but I'm not the right one in this circumstance, but perhaps someone else will offer.
  10. I never saw that post about the shipping, Aces, or I would have replied. He charged me $6.00, sent the books in a bubble mailer, for $2.45, or something like that...I had mentioned that I had expected priority in the PM and I got a response saying that he took an average from Ebay, and could not please everyone. I like to think the best of everyone...I think it just really AVALANCHED...he did say he was having some problems and had to sell his books, but it seems he also has a website
  11. Obviously he got your sex wrong but it was in response to the following http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1935738&page=1&gonew=1#UNREAD Funny thing is, Comic Supply himself complained about the grading while he was complaiining about people complaining. Mr Avalanche had a large listing for Fantastic Four on Ebay, he had a 48 and 49 with no grades, I know there was a number, because this was before I got his books and I had called to ask the grades because the price was very low and I was thinking of bidding or at least suggesting he mention the grades, to up his bids (but he said his daughter turned off the phone before the auction and he was all upset, they went too low). I never got the impression in the beginning, he was awful, just stressed...and he took some poor advice, and instead of just saying, I'm sorry, I made an error, he got insulted and defensive. I'm actually surprised you didn't get the books, but who knows...it's certainly not making much sense. He had been on some other board, and some boarders with a lot of feedback had recommended him. I got my books tossed in a bubble bag as well, but I didn't mention that, I see he got a neg on Ebay for the same thing. I'd just file the Paypal dispute now, he'll answer, and without proof of mailing, you should be OK...
  12. I'm so sorry that you are dealing with that,it was the main reason I posted on that thread originally, to warn others. I got a PM from another board member, who also got books that were poorly graded. When I filed the paypal dispute (and in the dispute I asked to return the books at MY cost) , the response was, that I was "trying to get something for nothing" which was a very odd attitude ..He did post his phone number in a few of his Ebay auctions, if that helps you, you might want to do a search of his Ebay auctions, to get the number.. He's running some ebay auctions? I've got an idea... He'd been advertising them on the Ebay seller's page...and Uh-oh...I think I've become an enabler...

  14. They are genuinely fun. Try one and tell us what you thought. (thumbs u Blonde Phantom, LOVE them...they are just so hard to find without rat chews and without taking out another mortgage... I have one that is slabbed, that I might have to take a screw driver to..
  15. Congratulations. If your goal is to have completed the Fox run by Christmas, it looks like you're off to a great start. (thumbs u Thanks, I actually have a few others already...the only GA titles I ever tried to complete was Wonder Woman and Sensation, I am way too haphazard, I go by cover, price and...well, if I love it:) kind of like shoes.. and Thanks everyone for being so nice !
  16. I hope I have the right place here, some low grade gold on Ebay , Special Comics #1, Wonder Woman #10, Sensation 3, 11, 16, Black Hood, Mary Marvel, Wow... and they are cheap...ummm..inexpensive:) Skypinkblu Ebay auctions
  17. Bunnies or Squirrels, MIGHT be acceptable rodents...thanks Jon ! (thumbs u I never thought of that:) Yes, all in one box, today, thanks to my friend Richard...(thanks Richard!!
  18. In Today's mailbox:) I guess they belong here:) anyway, I thought I'd share:) and I might even keep the one with the rat chew, but I'm not sure I can touch it..
  19. I always liked the cover to #36, the red one are always nice:) Congrats!
  20. Sometimes, I reread what I wrote and... do I need grammar check, I need to proof after I change something...oh..and... Missed you, Danny!
  21. Kudos to TOPOFTHETOTEM for some books from the VCC. These were wonderful books, described accurately and a bonus! Packaged well, and shipping swiiftly with great communications! thanks so much, Lawrence!
  22. I was watching that as well but the page count scared me. Sure looked pretty. I emailed him several times, got the scans, but no page count...and the two detached pages were from the back, not the centerfold..which worried me...plus I asked for his phone number, so I could ask more questions and explain the page count, no response... Some people are either scam artists, or have no common sense...
  23. I see the Wonder Woman 7, I was watching sold...the one that was VF/NM with the 2 "detached pages" I still would have bid, except the seller would only tell me it had "around" 40 pgs... I hope the winner is lucky...
