  1. I saw that. The cert numbers are blacked out on the asm 300's. Is that common....like I said I don't do instagram
  2. Yes, both the fraud investigators and Matt Nelson directly. I want to be clear, I hate social media and message boards. No offense people lol...just not my thing. Also, I generally never buy slabs. I spent years learning to grade and spot resto so I didn't have to. I shared info to try and help fellow collectors. I really don't care beyond that. I have been collecting since 1973 and have submitted 0 books to cgc, just not my thing. My wife, who is an attorney spent a lot of time drafting the e-mail detailing what we KNEW and forwarded it to the proper people. After that, it's up to CGC.
  3. I will not dox someone. It just isn't right IMO and can create a dangerous situation. Also, while I met him through a dealer, I personally have no idea what level of involvement they have. They could be victims as well. That is why you do an investigation
  4. I agree with that 100% and I don't expect anything. What I will say is that I have not "speculated" on anything. I have dealt with all parties face to face ( the scammer and the shop in brooklyn) and have made a point of not putting too much info out there. I just want to see the investigation take it's course....no which hunt....wherever that leads. I think that is a reasonable position
  5. One of the best. Mike is awesome. Always treats me and my family like gold. Best run shop in NYC IMO. Family owned and operated and it feels that way.
  6. rug-GATE. They need to put a friggin' black light on that thing. God only knows what other secrets it is hiding....
  7. it feels like this investigation is very similar to OJ Simpson's investigation of the murders....lol Hope I wrong
  8. I understand that the investigation is going to focus on online transactions because that’s the easiest to follow but my purchase was in person and he was set up at a show so I’m sure There are other books that we know nothing about that went to other dealers and other collectors. We may never know how deep this thing goes. It is what it is but a thorough investigation needs to be done
  9. For the safety of the community all the guys associates need to come to light. I definitely don’t see CGC releasing anything right now because there is an ongoing investigation. There’s enough information out there that a lot of people know who this is and just be careful. The truth is on Instagram
  10. When someone has proven that they’ll do anything for money, anything is possible. I think this guy was likely switching books, trimming books, faking SIGs, who knows but nothing is out of the realm of possibility. What has to happen is every book he has ever submitted needs to be scrutinized and any dealer he dealt with needs to be scrutinized. it’s very possible the dealer/dealers didn’t know what was going on but it is highly highly highly likely that he submitted books through dealer account or other peoples accounts maybe with them knowing, maybe with them not knowing but this is what needs to be investigated. There shouldn’t be a rush to judgment but there needs to be a thorough investigation.
  11. Also, I have an honest question. Why is it OK to out the eBay store IDs and the auction houses that have dealt in these books but not the brick and mortar? It is possible, in fact highly likely, that many dealers dealt with these books probably many unknowingly. Unless we know the change of possession of all this guys books we’re never gonna be able to get the whole story. Just because the store sold the books doesn’t necessarily mean they were in on it but it is an added piece of the puzzle and deserves scrutiny and investigation
  12. Feel like I can say this at this point, I met the scammer personally he was working at the booth of The said shop in Brooklyn at a comic book show. There is definitely a connection between the two what it is I am not gonna say and don’t know but it doesn’t look good. Many of the suspicions books were there and offered to me after the show by text.
  13. Also, I am sorry to say that not only must every book this Person sold/slabbed/had his hands on must be looked at, any retailers or dealers he interacted with must be identified at some point. If he duped collectors it is IMPOSSIBLE some dealers weren’t taken in as well and sold suspect books unknowingly.
