Then somebody should tell Windy City that they posted the wrong image, since I got directly from their 2023 auction website. Check the link yourself: https://windycitypulpandpaper.com/home/?page_id=37

I know that there is a lot of negotiation space from many angles. I have been offered a zero percent seller's premium by Heritage for a specific item i own. And i'm a tiny fish in a huge ocean of buyers and sellers. I was checking the pics from the Windy City auction and it looks like a different copy than the one sold by Heritage. The Windy city copy was nicer, but I don't know the provenance, and it was not mentioned in the description. See below. Considering the Windy City auction was April 2023, it still wouldn't have been a bad quick turnaround.

High rollers can apparently negotiate a minimal sellers premium for their wares. I'm sure a savvy consigner with high demand items would negotiate a more favorable rate.

This looks like the copy that sold at last year's Windy City Pulp Con for $14k. It was considered an astonishingly high hammer price, but looks like it paid off if it's the same copy.

RIP Sean, and continue to be eternally groovy.

Thanks to @adamstrange and @sfcityduck for this thoughtful and insightful discussion! Your comments have added significant depth and detail to my understanding of comic genres and ages that I collect. Both of you have valid points and I will be mentally logging much of this information as I enjoy our hobby. All this without even a single moderator warning. Way to keep it classy!

Welcome CGC to the world of pulps" CGC will be grading them.

I agree that pages must be counted (as problematic as that is). Some notable / valuable pulps with landmark firsts have very unimpressive covers, or the covers are unrelated to the important content. i.e REH's first Conan in WT has a nice St. John cover that has nothing to do with Conan, PKD's first published work in Planet Stories has a decent but generic cover, Lovecraft's first Cthulhu story in WT has an unrelated and unremarkable cover. The story pages are the gold here, not the covers. -
I'll pound you to a "Pulp" if you don't show off yours!

Picked this up earlier this year after a hard fought auction. Left with a bruised wallet and this beauty. -

Nice pickups! Alternatively, you could have hit last night's HA auction and spent over a grand for the same books! -
