  1. It is. I'm not interested in the bs that other people might be. Having a book pressed is no different than having it in a bag and board. It's just another manner of preserving it. Right. Because your reality (and in your case I use that term lightly) is the only thing that matters. Total nonsense. Best of luck with any future sales on this board.
  2. This place is part Hotel California, part your local behavioral health medical facility, part this place, and with a smidgen of the Overlook Hotel thrown in for good measure.
  3. Why would you use a backer board at all for hardcovers? Seems totally unnecessary given the nature and thickness of most HC books.
  4. Which tells me that it's over hyped; people have "bought" in to the hype; and consequently it's now WAAAAAY over priced... It's not a rare comic. However, it gets much more scarce in higher grades. I think the two highest graded ones on ebay right now top off at 7.0 It's a legitimately tough book in high grade.
  5. First appearance of the Bat Jock Strap. Tuck that into your utility belt
  6. Seems to me not trying to make more sales and more profits is bad for any business There's more than one way to do business and be profitable. Slabbing isn't the be-all and end-all. Sometimes I wonder how some people would have survived pre-CGC when you didn't have to have a grading company do all your thinking for you and press every comic regardless of whether it needs it or not. Of course, if the goal is to squeeze every single damned penny out of a comic, then I guess CCS/CGC is the way to go. I just hope CCS doesn't damage your comic or pop a staple during it's assembly line process
  7. And to add insult to injury, he's hoisting him up by his junk before he throws him
  8. Geez, you pay 8K for Batman's junk and you can't even open it up to see it.
  9. Given the way that the grading on this book is trending, anybody who submits anything less than a 9.9 will be a sucker.
  10. What Batman: Damned needs is one that goes to 11.
  11. Yeah, this book will have some value https://www.cgccomics.com/census/grades_standard.asp?title=Batman%3A+Damned&publisher=D.C.+Comics&issue=1&year=2018&issuedate=11%2F18
  12. I love trades when they are the best/most affordable option available but otherwise, I'd rather read the original comics. It's part of the experience. Digital is not an option. I have two issues with trades/masterworks/omnibus/etc editions. One is that they are often a little too slick. A little too polished. If I want to read a 1960s ASM, I want the newsprint. I want the (at times subpar) coloring. My other issue is that you aren't getting the entire comic. For example, I have a couple Sgt Rock archives but they only reprint the Sgt Rock and Easy Co stories. Any back up stories are not included. Some trades do reprint entire issues of comics, some don't
  13. Who will win the coveted Greggy this year? Better get to greasin' palms with some sweet 9.8s
  14. Attach this set to my man thing please You got one of my mom's drink rings! I think she was trying to train me not to leave my comics out in the living room....., That ring will be dangerously close to my man thing
  15. Let's just rename the Forumite of the Year award to the Greggy award. Then, the people who won could say they have a Greggy.
  16. Bo Diddley (or George Thorogood)
  17. you better check that smell from between the couch cushions...., Smells like reptile stank
  18. I predict a micro-brew today, with more tomorrow
  19. I let the Market crash at my place. It trashed the bathroom and drank all my beer. Never again
  20. Four Star Battle Tales packed an incredible amount of great war artists and stories into five issues. It's particularly heavy on Mort Drucker art but you also get Kubert, Heath, Andru/Esposito, Grandenetti, and others, including a Krigstein story.
