  1. Haven't got it yet, but I could'nt wait to share this one : a real nice Strange Tales 116. Thanks to Mr Pym for selling this one, and to jimjum12 for letting me have it - I owe you man! Thinking about Red Hook's thread about Green River date stamp, I noticed that the date stamp on this book is very similar to the one on another copy of ST 116, the CGC 9.2 COW from the Mannarino Collection. It seems that these two ST 116 came from the same store...
  2. Got this in the mail : Mass. Copy of Strange Tales #103 !
  3. Here's my first Pedigree : Mass. Copy of Strange Tales 103. A tough book to find in nice grade. I got this one from Marnin Rosenberg (big kudos). Funny story is that the book was listed as the Slobodian copy but while packaging the book, Marnin found out that it was the Mass. copy ! Kudos also to Brent of Quality Comics since this book was on its way to be listed on Quality Comics' latest eBay auction...he was a real gentleman in letting this one go. The colors are outstanding in comparison with all the ST 103 I saw previously. As for the pre-marvel chipping, I can live with that since the rest of the book is almost perfect! This one's going to CGC...
  4. Here's what I got in the mail today from Comic Book Postal Auction in the UK. ST 121 in CGC 8.5 COW. At the price I paid, I won't complain about the date stamp...or the COW pages!
  5. Yes I agree...does anybody knows if there is a reprint of the comic book works of Mac Raboy ? ...and regarding the one staple, i'm an insufficiently_thoughtful_person! looking at other CMJ, I did'nt see one with two staples so it was the norm back then! (probably because of the war effort)
  6. Just got this today, my first Golden Age book! I always wanted to have at some point a Mac Raboy's Captain Marvel Jr. This one's a nice CGC 8.5 OW It's also a special book to me since my mother & father were both born in 03/1944... One particularity: it was manufactured with only one staple, straight in the middle of the spine, the end result being that the spine is in tremendous shape!
  7. Kudos to Burntboy for a nice Sid's Luncheonette FF 33 CGC 8.0 W
  8. Just got this one today from Burntboy : FF 33 CGC 8.0 White
  9. Nice pick up Surfer! It's a great consolation after the nasty bidding war that went on eBay for the 8.5 copy (I was wondering at one point if someone was going to push the price higher than the BIN price on PGCMint's web site! ) If the back cover is as nice as the front, i'm stun that this one did'nt even get a 8.0 ...
  10. Congratulation Mar-vell ! It's a really nice copy
  11. Hi all...I have joined the dark side : Here's my first ever Golden age book! Just won it on eBay (hope everything will go well) I always had in mind that the first book that I would buy would be dated March 1944 since both my parents were born that month...(Ah! the mind of the collector ) I have always loved Mac Raboy's Art on the color pages of the Overstreet and this cover is a nice one. Only thing missing are Nazis! (maybe they are hidden inside...) By the way it's a CGC 8.5 OW, the third best CGCed copy of that book
  12. Really nice! If that's what prompt you to let go of that JIM 112, good decision! You're building yourself a mini-run? (I noticed on this thread that you have #39 in 8.5 also)
  13. Very impressive! The colors and gloss are awesome. Way better than what could be expected from the scans on TVComics.com... Maybe I should go for one of Burntboy's book
  14. Still got that Avengers 7 Yes I do. Why are you asking ? Do you have a trade in mind ?
  15. Here is one book that I was looking for in the 8.5 range...and had a tough time finding! Thanks Burntboy!
  16. Kudos to Burntboy for a very nice copy of Strange Tales 120. One of my comic collection objective for this year is done thanks to you!
  17. Got this one today from Harley Yee. So don't bid on this book on ComicLink or press the BIN button on eBay, this one is already sold... (and yes, I did suggest to Harley to take this one out of those web sites...I suppose he will do this shortly!)
  18. Congrats! Gorgeous cover. 8.5.....your best dollar value! Thanks! I am very happy since I got it for just over the Overstreet price for an unslabbed 8.0 (and below the GPA lowest trade for a 8.5!)
  19. Won this one last night. It will fill a gap between my #15,16 and 18...
  20. Long due public thanks to arexcrooke for a nice Avengers 7. Also, thank you Blowout for a very nice Strange Tales 118 and a great JIM 108! Nice doing business with you gentlemen. Frederic
