  1. It sounds like he is subtly trying to say "Let's look at your tax records to what dirty little secrets we may find" vs actually proving his innocence. The shop keep should have a security cam or something to keep his product from walking out the door.
  2. I just got in my Photo Journal Guide to comics and you really start to realize how much work Jack Cole was doing. Soon as I get in my next 3 Police Comics, I will post the covers.
  3. Yeah, expect audits....Subpoenas the whole works. I wouldn't be surprise that an IRS agent would steal comics, not even that small amount. Kleptomania affects people from all walks of life. Even IRS agents.
  4. Or a Chamber Pot. That would be some nasty wetworks.
  5. I couldn't resist this... So I unslabbed my slabbed Police Comics 75 for your viewing enjoyment: I still need to get a hang on the resizing thing.
  6. Let's see mm.... Plastic Man .... Mr. Fantastic ....The Elongated Man Comet .... Cyclops Anybody, got any others?
  7. Yeah, It looks like it but very hard to peg. Now, I have a Plastic Man 56 that is definitely not his work. I have Police Comics 75 also but I cannot get it to scan well due to encapsulation. I am getting ready to add to my Police Comics collection, an 84, 85 and 101.
  8. Yeah, here is the wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Cole_%28artist%29 And here is a cover pic of Police Comics 102, Can't verify that it is Jack Cole though. Darn, need to resize this image.
  9. Yee Haw, now that is what I am talking about. According to GCD that comic was published in April of 1940. This proves my point, as to the reason Jack Cole was deserving of Hero Worship. He was Writer, Penciler, Inker etc. Not only that but he was working dailies as well. He was an unusual talent to say the least. To all you out there: Is there a way to embed an image on these posts without a URL?
  10. Just got to get my scanner up. Feel free to drop any you have.
  11. For those of you, who worshipped Jack Cole, this is the thread for you. I will posting scans of some of my Police and Plastic Man Comics in the next week. though I know, some of you will want to post his other artwork.
  12. You should look over #27 and #4 of CMA. Those be really nice. I kinda picked Cap based on the fact that I could relate to him better. Funny, why we pick our comics. If I were smart, I would just pick up comics on the Overstreet 100 but I feel Whiz Comics and CMA's as well as Police and Plastic Man(Quality) are under rated. Now, the non-superman Actions those are really sharp too. I just figure, I will get to collecting Superman when I get to that $100K per annum job.
  13. Money, my friend. Money. I have so far devoted only a small amount to my CMA collection. So, I could sell and switch except....Well, I snagged a Crowley and a Mile High. Eh, what you going to do. I am however adding Superman 14 to my want list. I figure, I will never pony up the cash for a #1 and besides that cover #14 is my favorite.
  14. Man that #12 looks kinda......well....hmmmm.......Village People. Don't get me wrong, I just think Supes should have had a manager to keep him off that particular cover. Hehehheeheh. With that cover as an exception, this thread is seriously making me reconsider collecting the Big Red Cheese and going for The Big Blue Boy Scout.
  15. Yep, nice JLA, though I think Batman would've have knocked Sups to floor and ground yee olde gonads to mush. Can't help but laugh at Aquaman though.
  16. My report card. Now that I think of it, my brother's report cards.
  17. Captain Marvel Adventures 131 Crowley 6.5 (Waiting ... and Waiting on CGC). CMA 71 7.0 Mile High (Metropolis should be sending out soon). I will be posting photos as soon as they get here. Photo-Journal Guide to Comics Vols 1&2 to arrive today from Mile High Comics(yeah, I know they are expensive). The slow but sure progression of my Cap and Plas collection to greatness. Heheheeheh. (insert evil laugh here!!!!). You guys get bored and want some Vertigo comics, I have been selling a batch o' those here and there. http://stores.ebay.com/Vertigo-Mile-Comics_W0QQsspagenameZMEQ3aFQ3aSTQQtZkm
  18. Here is an Action Comics 260, I just recently sold on ebay with a Superman 292. I might be relisting later if I don't hear back from the buyer soon. Pretty much a nice set of readers.
  19. DKB, You are way too lucky. Too bad I don't collect much SA or I would've bid on that auction.
